I had one of these as a kid. The cow one!! Sadly when we moved it got misplaced, though we moved into a very small apartment so we had to get rid of some things. Gonna get another one...no...ALL OF THEM! SOOOOOOOO great to see these again!!! I don't think there was anything wrong the human who made them. One set of batteries are probably the main set, the other set is probably backup for when the main ones die so that data on the thing wasn't lost (common thing in 90's toys, if all sources of power of gone, data is gone, backup batteries usually used when device is off.). Smaller to actually make you change the main ones. But why AAA? Usually the use a single watch battery. good enough to keep the data from dying.

Ooglies was (or is still) a kids TV show where whenever humans left the room, some random inanimate object or food wold come to life and do pretty much 'owt. Basically, they stuck googly eyes on 'owt and said thing would engage in various humourous occurrences, sometimes with other Ooglies, sometimes not. I just massively under-sold that show.

I find the way they can switch their voices from a high pitched gremlin giggles to a low one similar to adults when they speak extremely creepy. Aren't those suppose to be signs of demonic possessions?
