Amicable Herculean is a toyline which starts as He-Man type figures which transform into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle knock offs! And bonus: They are in the Galaxy Hole! phelous.com / phelous #TMNT #BootlegToy
Interchangable heads! These figures were so ahead of their time. I'm glad they are amicable too rather than the unfriendly toys I played with as a child.
That's a great future proof bookleg idea: transforming the figure into ANY of a number of famous knockoff prosperities! Put a helmet on, they're Power Rangers! Put a belt on, they're Wrestlers!
@@bloodrunsclear that IS A FANTASTIC IDEA!!!!! but with the copyright law shit the way it is today........you know that would be a nightmare to get away with...... It's risky enough with just ONE intellectual property you know????? Edit: and IP owners and rights holders will have varying degrees of hostility towards violators and their protectivness of their IP will depend I suppose on how blatant a toy would have to be to constitute a "knock-off" in the copyright infringement sense....
@@bloodrunsclear there is a Toy Line that had that Gimmick It was an Action Figure (based on the G.I.Joe's Action Figure) that had many accessories based on different series & characters
There the world's most weirdest, wildest team! (We're full lead!) They're heroes with changeable heads! For some reasons! (Why do we turn into turtles?) When the evil Galaxy Heroes attack! These Herculeans fall on their backs! Amicable Herculean! Amicable Herculean! Amicable Herculean! Phelan found these guys on Ebay! (We came in a lot!) There's a guy with a giant head! And Shredder as a cowboy! (What the devil-?!) The man in the yellow hat smokes! I really hope buying these guys didn't make Phelous go broke! (SUPPORT HIS PATREON!) Amicable Herculean! Amicable Herculean! Amicable Herculean! Heroes in a whatever shell! GALAXY POWER!
Affectionate Gargantuan, Sympathetic Jumbo, Cordial Mammoth, Chummy Colossus, Affable Brobdingnagian, Neighborly Titan, Sociable Hulk... O yeah, and that red-headed turtle with the green shades is totally Noelle who now has a chu-hunkiness!
I like the cloth outfits, they're surprisingly well made for a knock-off. Heck it's higher quality than you'd often see with a Barbie, even if it's just plain green.
I like the fact that Bug-Eyed Sunglasses guy on the back of the card isn't depicted with having his eyes above his glasses, but they painted it on anyway, like they were confused and needed to have eyes under the eyebrows. :P
I want take a moment to say thanks for making these. You are obviously very dedicated to your hobby. These figures are both rare and expensive and your collection, like your knowledge, seems to have no limit. Thank you so much for these fun videos and your skits. Priceless, everyone.
Trying to put the heads on reminds me of getting Metalhead for the TMNT line, he came with a propeller blade you were supposed to be able to change one of his hands with and it was such a pain in the ass I had to have my Dad do it. You'd think since it was a kids toy, they would have done something to make it easier. Even if it was a inner rubber ring that held them in place or something.
Those suspender figures remind me of shredders turtle gang from early on in the show, only difference is none of them come with a paper bag turtle mask.
The Devil's Warriors package art with the death's head faced soldier is genuinely terrifying, I could easily imagine that going "missing" quite soon if you got one of those figures as a kid.
These Amicable Herculean look like a toy line made around a long forgotten wrestler tag team. I can imagine the WWF wanting to hop on the popularity of TMNT 3:15 They crossed the path of Kenshiro. They don't know it, but they're already dead. 6:43 Samus Aran in a half shell!
my first thought was recycled parts of a cowboy and wild west gangsters line of toys. The hats , the scars, the sheriff stars on the legs, it would explain the boots as well
YES! THE GALAXY HOLE CONTINUES INTO 2019! Complete with awesomely ridiculous name! It's like if Baltard was a human I had to crack up at how they look under their clothes. Not quite as ripped as the Galaxy Warriors Devil Warriors? Okay, I hope those are next.
Have some people really never heard Herculean said that way? It's the 2nd way they have to pronounce it on Merriam-Webster. www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Herculean I mean I've heard the 1st pronunciation I just tend to say it the other way.
Since these are knock offs of knock offs, it would be super cool if someone started scanning these figures for 3D printing. I'd totally print some of these up and paint them for my nephew.
Never expected them to come from Hasselt, Belgium. Hasselt is the capital of the province Limburg. Limburg is calm, boring and forgotten. Really unexpected. :) Guess ripoffs come from everywhere!!!
I used to work in Kiewit for a couple of years. I can't imagine where in that area they'd be producing knockoff toys like these to begin with! The packaging still says "Made in China" but I assume that means the distributor is located in Hasselt?
I love this series the most. So happy to see a new ep. I might need to go back and watch the galaxy warriors vids. they're seriously one of my favorite series of videos from the past few years
The whole time watching this video I couldn't help but think these toys are what humans would look like if they tried the "trench coat/human mask" gimmick the 87 turtles would sometimes do. I mean imagine humans on the Planet of the Turtleoids trying to go undercover :P
I can not help but hear this said in a calm deep-voiced 1980s style announcer while watching this. "Amicable Herculeans. They are strong in friendship."
So before Funko Pops, what with their ability to just use the same basic look and figures over and over to the point of them being an eyesore, we had the Galaxy Hole. Take a few basic assets, give them a repaint and come up with only a handful of new head designs and BOOM! You have a new 'line' of toys that the kiddies will just LOVE!
I remember seeing these in a grocery story near my late grandmother's house when I was around 12. So thirty years ago. Don't remember the name being such awesome silliness, but definitely remember that head-swapping gimmick. As for the "human" figures, they struck me more as ripoffs of late 80s WWF than MOTU.
My favorite part of these? Watching a full grown man play with these old bootleg toys the same way I kinda recall playing with my shitty dinosaurs as a kid.
Fist adamwestslapdog uploaded the final episode of Majora's mask abridged and now more Galaxy hole today is truly a blessing from the Lord. I know this was uploaded first but I got caught up in the excitement.
When I first started this video, I thought they were going to transform like the '92 Bebop where the hands and head flip around internally... But for a bootleg, I kind of prefer this awkward partsforming. Makes them feel kind of homey for reasons I can't explain.
I don't know exactly what the molds of these figures were original made for, but I'm pretty sure it was something about cowboys. Except for the ones in cloth gis, those are clearly meant to be wrestlers.
Amicable Herculean figures remind me of some kind of weird gang that might have existed in the Peach Trees block before the MaMa gang took over in “Dredd.” ..still, they are still less creepy than the M’Bay’s TMNTs.
So weird they call these 'amicable' when they all look like evil murderers and goons. Maybe these could be used as Shredder's newest stupid plan, mutate some of Bebop and Rocksteady's old gang into turtles?
While I assume the plastic is cheap on these guys to try it but maybe the hair dryer trick to make the heads fit better? Just a thought. These are kind of cool for what they are though, I'm more of a Masters of the Universe collector but I love it when toy lines unintentionally do the fusion dance.
