My guess is the series's been on break for the countdown to Anthony's ever since buying back Smosh was varified to happen. It's been in planning ever since, if I had to quess, and so no other funerals have been held for a while to build anticipation. The Try Guys Keith and Zack was last and that was in july. So the timing would also make sense. Considering this, it's a bit of a shame they got to Ian's funeral roast in the spring. Would have been cool if they had happened to schedule someone else and Ian's would have made it to the post reunion era. All of this is speculative, but making Antony's this huge might be compensation for him not having been there for Ian's. I don't doubt them keeping the regular format going with the rest of the cast and some of the crew after this. Spencer seems inevitable. Angela, Chanse and Arasha seem very likely, but especially with these newer members it also makes sense to build up some lore and establish them in before the roasts happen. Which is to say I don't think it would have made much sense to have Arasha's, Angela's or Chanse's any sooner, but it might be timely now, let's say from the spring onward.

Yep. Exactly like that. Also, on the office tour video with Jon (Forbes) Ian and Anthony explained in detail why they do the membership thing, the paid event,etc. Because that's the only way to keep a sketch comedy based channel profitable nowadays.
