Bora Bora island drive from Vaitape to Matira Beach 

In January of 1942, after hepling with the big mess at Pearl Harbor. My father's US Navy ship, the AM 31 Tern was re positioned from Honolulu to Bora Bora. The Tern was normaly a mine sweeper but it was hastily re fitted into a perminant - temporary base communications ship for Bora Bora's new WWII Naval base. The entire Tern's crew's main duty during the year + it took build a permiunant secure Navy radio station on Bora Bora was to keep her boiler lit and the generator spinning to power the secure radio station the Tern had on board. The above being the case, my dad said he got quite board and often would walk around the island, sometimes twice a day. Watching this video right now actually brought tears to my eyes knowing my late father must have used this vary road during his walks around the island in. 1942 - 1943.

I really #like how there is minimal #fencing around #houses. It looks #safe, #lawabiding and #pleasant. The #streets look #clean and tidy. I think it could be one #place where #women feel #safe #walking around. Like the #music, too.

Why so fast? Everything just whizzing by. It's not like traffic behind you. Would have been more enjoyable at slower speed. Waste of time video.
