I remember the Borat promo phase very well. It was incredible, how Sasha Baron Cohen stayed in character for months, visiting every show possible and all of them were still unique in a way. By the time the movie finally arrived, everyone was super hyped
These guys making the rounds staying in character is comedy gold. "Borat" is arguably the best satirical movie of all time. When they threw money at the cockroaches in that Jewish home had me crying in the theater! 🤣🤣🤣
It happens now and then, but SBC is uncannily skilled at keeping it together no matter what is happening. One of the best ever at staying in character and not breaking
@@aybase it was 'too far' back then too. But people understood 'shock humor'. Those who didn't like it complained and switched the channel. There was also no echo chamber of social media where a perceived offense was repeated enough to go 'viral' and go from perception to fact. There was no social media where people got told what they should be offended about this week and to hit a 'like' button and 'share'. Simpler times. Not better but definitely simpler.
I pray that GOD removes all the deppresion, situation you going through and darkness off from you, Mr. John Lowtechie and seavs1 and make you happy. Humor is from GOD, everything good is from GOD. When I have a bad day.. I do same thing as you.
Crazy how the "red light district" was like a trendy thing to say back then and now no one talks about it in controlled cinema. Along with the obsessions with perceived middle eastern sounding countries "Kazakhstan" all the stan’s. it's all a machine to control you.
@@marvin19966 You'll know one day... There's no escaping it! At least I had clean air, natural food and great weather for most of it. Something you'll never be able to say.... Enjoy!
Conan… just thank you for you being you. Youve brought a warm light to everyone who’s seen you wether they are happy or sad. Thanks for all you do, my brother!
Conan's the best man. Borat worked in British interviews and this one but i can imagine it being hella awkward with Jimmy Kimmel or anyone else in the States.
It would work fine on any of these comedy talk shows because they understand the joke. It's when he goes on "regular" news shows or interviews where people are taken aback by him
This and the Jon Stewart interview were the best out of the original Borat marketing tour. They were the only two, I felt, that meshed perfectly with what Sasha was going for. I’ll never forget the look of fear on Borat’s face when Jon Stewart mentions that he’s Jewish.
Привет из Казахстана, обожаем Боратика, очень прикольный персонаж получился у Коуэна. Нормальные казахи не могут обижаться на такое, юмор не может быть на 100% серьезным.
honestly Conan's flight and scare at the end seemed so convincing I am thinking he wasn't acting.... Probably believed honestly Sasha would've done it for REAL if given the chance.
@@roddo1955 Armenian. In the first Borat movie, his character is speaking Armenian which I somewhat understood. Pretty much saying what the character was supposed to be saying but much simpler than the subtitles.
A new borat interview! (Well not new but rather one I didn’t know existed 😂) Just what I needed since ive been in a bit of a Conan/Sacha baron cohen binge lately
Why have I never seen this until now!?! I love when actors go on as the character they're playing. Will Ferrell did so as Ron Burgundy, and Paul Reubens did so many times as Pee Wee. Imagine all three of them in the same interview all in character! Lol Sacha...I mean Borat looked like he was about to break character when he asked Conan about his pubis lol. "It's a veritable forest down there." (Let's see who gets that reference lol)
The problem here is, yes it's humor but it's also irony and a lot of dumbasses don't understand that and base their chracter off this crap. Everything the borat is is what people shouldn't be and think like but just like every other offensive characters out there the fans kill them and make them unfunny.
