True story man it's real I made that comment before I read other people's comments and the Republicans actually would stand for the respect and the Democrats would have said no we can't do that we can't wait 10 minutes we have to talk about making laws making it okay for boys to go into girls bathrooms and take away the citizens rights to bear arms and fight tyrannical government
Because Republicans are idiots and believe even the most absurd things. tRUMP got standing ovations for saying "Mexico will pay for the wall" and "Covid is a hoax"🤣
I think he mentioned in another segment that the Tishniek Massacre was about the Kazakhs killing Uzbeks. If I'm not wrong, those 10 minutes were in celebration of him killing Uzbeks lmao.
The lady next to Borat is awesome. He's rolling out jokes that are designed to offend... she is laughing her head off! I think a lot of them were actually laughing at it, as it was so over the top, rather than being offended....than gave him a standing ovation. Great crowd.
i have a ton of respect for these ladies and gentleman. It was a joke, but the fact that they were willing to give someone respect like this speaks volumes.
These men and women are forever part of comedy history and they had no clue at the time. It's like getting finding out you once co-starred in a Charlie Chaplin movie.
they have no idea where he is from he is coming to learn about the US he was there to celebrate their country no reason for them to be offended, watch them in other sacha videos they are assholes
@@chrisss3749 didn’t say they are all the same Why didn’t you tell this to the original commenter who believes they are respectful, they can’t be all respectful either
Wow, I have to say it almost brought tears to my eyes the level of respect this people had of course if you look they are all older, the level of tolerance, they even laughed at jokes just to be polite I’m willing to think that this one back fire on borat, this people never lost it, never tried to silence him and at the end they even gave him a standing ovation. Thank you republicans from Pima county Arizona. Example of acceptance tolerance love and compassion.
The Republican party is very tolerant. These people know that what is normal in another country isn't normal here, and they are forgiving of all the stuff he says and just laugh it off. Obviously now they have probably learned that it was all a joke and are laughing more now!!! And they are very respectful!!! Republicans are some of the most respectful people you will ever meet!!!
@@ghostehh There are plenty of individual Republicans who are great people. I judge those people separately from the ideology and policies. In general I think Republican politicians are some of the worst of the worst, regardless of how nice many of the voters are.
@@ghostehh this was the sane Arizona Republican party that supported John McCain as Senator. It's changed so much over the past 4 years, they're quite extreme now, they voted to censure John McCain's widow this January for not supporting Donald Trump.
"The only woman allowed in my country with politicians is prostitute" :) lady on the left's response is so sportive and funny and he says "but I know you are not one", more laughter and relief :) hilarious guy this Borat.
@@VeganSemihCyprus33 Samih İ gotta ask you. Do you Turkish people watch the young Turks only because.... You know.... they are Turks? Or do you really care about anything else other than that?
Baraa Khalaf do you know the name the young Turks is basically the Turkish version of the nazis. The young Turks committed genocide against the Armenians
@@StepTronic I know that, but that was a long time a ago... Those Young Turks basically were the main reason that broke the harmony and cut last tie between Arabs and Turks back then, which still a lot of Turks hold in!!! But I don't think those (ittihad wa taraqi) are the same Young Turks, maybe?!
@@LaPride247 r/woosh. The comment was proposing a joke that Borat could've made, and it's a funny joke. Next time, perhaps you should try logic. Trust me, it works great.
During 10 minutes of silence, i have never laughed so hard. Human beings are gullible cows. I mean that in a good way. Shout out to Mr. Cohen for recognizing this. She like apples.
His typical schtick of trying to goad the worst response possible out of people fails when he comes up against pleasant people like this - much more common than not in my own experience, and it's part of the reason that despite some of the scenarios being funny I generally dislike Sacha Baron Cohen's material. The speech he gave for the SPLC or ACLU, whichever it was, was the last straw for me. It was nothing but completely one-sided cry bully garbage.
They laughed because, by breaking the awkward tension, that line *becomes* the punchline. It's kind of like a standup comedian who's bombing, tapping the mic and asking the crowd "Is this thing on?".
I think the joke is more in line with the whole Kazakhstan being poor trope. The wife is sad because they can't afford apples. But obviously the content of the joke was never meant to be funny. The punchline is whether the people have heard it before. I feel like an arse explaining this. so be it
Christina Reynolds I guess he might mean something to do with the herd mentality of these old conservatives going along with the 10 minute unknown massacre silence, but idk. It was seven years ago though, so I suppose that it’s anybody’s guess as to what he meant, lmao
@@perspii2808 ...wow i just saw this comment and the amount of thumbs up for the first time just now ...does my comment really need explaining?...393 understand and a couple don,t ...yet another lesson in the nature of what it is to be human i guess.
zazz63 zazz63 Omg, it’s cool/crazy that you still have this account after 7 years lol. What did you mean by it? I sort of feel dumb for saying that, but I don’t quite understand what you meant either, it seemed slightly vague and generalised Also, sorry if this is a weird question to ask an internet stranger, but what happened in between the time you posted your comment and now? I’m intrigued lmao.
Never seen Borat but it’s cool how much mutual rapport they have here. He wants to shock them but they are laughing in good nature so he in turn softens some of his jokes and makes it clear he is kidding. Very cool to see.
@@brysonporter6783 you living in a conservative world of your own my guy, not every leftist is a liberal and nobody actually gets "triggered" other than people on twitter, you is stuck in 2017
I couldn’t believe it watching this! Every conservative I’ve met nowadays has a really thick country accent and wouldn’t even listen to a single word someone with an accent would want to say even if it was great 😂 I’ve never met a conservative that wouldn’t be extremely racist to someone like borat
i think for many older conservatives it was about tradition hard work family values kind of stuff, rather than modern neoliberalism. i mean i reckon many there would be horrified to know the true depths, of exploitation, as well as machiavellion deception in modern extremist anything goes, state sanctioned terror home and abroad of neoliberals.
@@rogerchenkenio7238 You're right. That's the reaction when your worldview is so fragile that it can't hold up to any kind of scrutiny. That's the reaction when you're brainwashed.
All I can say is "waawaaweewaah". How does he do it? He got away with so much, just like in Who Is America. I met Sacha as Ali G in 2001 in Birmingham, UK. He was hilarious.
"waa waa wee waa" is really funny to me as a Hebrew speaker because it's an obscure Israeli expression which literally nobody uses Whenever he is talking in "Arabic" or "Kazakh" he is talking in slightly broken Hebrew with stereotypical accents
The funniest part is that Borat reveals in a later episode that it was the Kazakhs who perpetrated the Tishniak Massacre, and he was very proud of it. So the 10 minute silence was actually in honor of the perpetrators 🤣
No, most people would understand its satire, and he's playing a character to bring out how shitty these people are. It's not like he didn't just make a new tv show based off stereo types this year...
The character of Borat exists to show the way westerners view foreigners. He's like a conduit. Those people are delighted because he's validating their stereotypes.
