Ryan truly has some wicked lizards, and I know for sure most I plan to get some quality lizards from him! I love Chinese water dragons! I'll probably be getting one from my friends' mother because she cannot keep it anymore. And I'll make sure to spoil the (healthy) hell out of it :D

Do Sailfin dragons absolutely have to have live crickets? It seems as adults, they eat more of a plant diet. Are there any protein non live foods I can feed them, or at least just mealworms? My wife is anti live cricket. I really want one as well as a Caiman Lizard, though the Caiman Lizard enclosure I think would cost even more, though both are expensive.

Sadly sailfin dragons NEED protein in their diet (especially from a young age). So crickets, mealworms, roaches, superworms, grasshoppers, etc MUST be fed fed during all of their life stages (neonate-mature adult). While the video did say you can "keep them on a vegetarian diet" that was in reference to the fact that they NEED a good portion of their diet of greens, but they are NOT 100% vegetarian and need to have access to insects in their diet. If you can't deal with live feeder insects, then a sailfin dragon isn't the reptile for you. (Any of the Cyclura species would be better as they're 100% vegetarian)

@@AlexsAgamids - OK, thanks! I might be better off going with a Caiman Lizard, who I don't believe need insects, but eat primarily snails.

Amazing collection. Have you heard of the "Common Basilisks'? How come cant find them anywhere in the States?

The Common Basilisks haven’t been imported into the states since the 1990’s. However I do know as if this comment (8-8-2018) that the breeder I featured in this video, Borayus Exotics, has infact gotten a few imports and is attempting to breed them. If you are interested in some, defiantly contact him through the links I provided to his business pages in the description.

So you build your enclosures with pre soaked plywood?

Yes. After the enclosure is built. It’s coated in 100% water based polyurethane.

Yup! If you plan to do a large water basin. Make sure the enclosure is 100% sealed and able to handle high levels of moisture!

Animal Plastics is a great cage company. I have a A35 model cage coming in from them soon (so expect another build video). The prices are great, and PVC can’t be beat!

He uses Par 38 halógens for heat & Zilla T8 Desert 50 UVB bulbs.

HI Alex is it ok to house water dragons in a screen enclosure ?

If you’re referring to an all screen habitat like a “Reptibreeze” then no. That is not an ideal habitat for a water dragon. You can use screen for doors. But pretty much for an adult water dragon you MUST build a large habitat out of wood or some other solid matter along that will hold the heat and high humidity these lizards NEED.

3:05 is a Plumed Basilisk. If you message the breeder featured in the video (I have links to his pages in the description) he might have some avalible.

Snakedude1814, actually, the Chinese Water Dragon is a cross between a agama and iguana. Besides, someday, I am going to get a Basilisk, and I’ll name it Jesus because it runs on water.

I assure you Chinese Water Dragons are their own species. They are not a hybrid of a Green Iguana and anther Agamid species. I have no idea how one could come to that conclusion other from judging by looks only. But the Chinese Water Dragon is the only species in its Genus.
