By taxi or car, most East-Berliners start to return to their homes. Some have to start working at 6:00 a.m. again. Others, however, still enjoy the festives in a pub in West Berlin.
An ex-escape worker makes a statement. "It's an extraordinary feeling", he says.
The organization between East and West Berlin police is working well these days. The border guards work together.
The hope, that the exception will become the rule, is high. The Berlin Wall should remain open.
