Before anyone asks, because they always do, "flesh" in Digistruct peak is element neutral. Since flesh is neutral and armor isn't, you're better off just using corrosive and not bothering with fire.
I know these are essentially long farming videos, but your commentary and verbalized thought process through these Peak runs has been awesome. I've been learning to play Zer0 and while I'm not going to be copying your style completely, having the reasoning behind most of your gear and strategic choices is invaluable. So, thanks.
OP-levels are mostly about preparation. Without sufficient damage and a decent build, Digistruct Peak can be completely impossible. Your gear shouldn't be more than one level below your current OP-level and mostly be unique weapons. With good gear it's still a bit of a challenge, but it gets easier the more you do it.
He's done plenty of runs without the community patch, but it certainly does make things easier. You'd still need good gear to get through Digistruct Peak, though. It would definitely be easier to find equipment that's good enough for getting through Digistruct Peak, since a bunch of quest rewards and non-unique items that were previously useless become viable with the community patch.
After playing the entire Armored Core franchise and the Souls series, i still haven't found any map that can push me to the limits as much as OP8 digistruct peak.
For your next does it suck you should do the commerce I have the patch but I don't know if it's worth getting,I've always loved the skin but it sucked so much it wasn't worth using.
After all these years, I think I’ll finally try and finish digistruct peak like this instead of with a sandhawk/norfleet/grog nozzle combo. The assassins just messed me up. I’ve seriously never used critical ascension with zero, absolute idiot
Got a Godfinger killing the Doctor's orders loot midgets in one of my runs to try and get Mothrakk to drop a skullmasher. Actually, I got a bunch of legendaries and pearls from them before Mothrakk even came close to dropping the skullmasher. Got a Tunguska, a gub, a striker, a naught/cradle, a potOgold/Bigg Thumprr, a deliverence, two maggies... whole bunch of stuff really.
Hmm I think after the Godfinger. A Morningstar would be cool as well. Since it is possible to redo the mission. And seeing you going through some pretty maps, while doing that mission would be nice.
I remember I got a godfinger while farming loot midgets on Sal. It turned out to be a pretty good one with damage prefix and mliwan stock (not sure about the grip).
I play zero as well. I use a low level baddaboom, a grog nozzle, and spec out In two fang and I can make the jump to skip everything. No need for sal. I just get double drunk, throw a nad, and then rocket jump and boom! I'm at omgwth
The peak sucks for me. Running no patch I only got any pearl at all from the end guy once ever. Most of the time it never drops one. I get boat loads of pearls from the loot midgets instead.
On OP8, OMGWTH has a 100% chance of dropping a Pearlescent when you kill him. So chances are, either you're not killing him on OP8 or you miss the drops. Sometimes they can land in the snow and that makes them very hard to see and on rare occasions, they can fly off the cliff which sucks.
Not for me it didn't. I kept hearing that too and did a few op8 runs, only got one. Much better and easier farming the loot midgets, best I did was 3 pearls in one run. Each just popped after the other, was glorious.
Then my guess is either they're dropping and you're just not seeing them or there's something wrong with your game, because OMGWTH is literally coded to drop a Pearl every single time you kill him on Overpowered level 8. So I don't know what to tell you. If OMGWTH isn't working out for you, I recommend finding Brick in Sanctuary and activating the side mission "Rocko's Modern Strife" which clears the bandit portion of Thousand Cuts of enemies AND gives an increased chance of loot midgets spawning. Then go to Thousand Cuts, DON'T go to Rocko and instead go through the bandit area, opening every container. My best run gave me 7 loot midgets, who dropped 3 Pearls, 2 good Bone of the Ancients, a great Conference Call and a Blowfly (Which isn't a great gun unless you're level 1 and lucky enough to get it from Knuckle Dragger but still noteworthy)
Yea, I don't know what to say either, it's just what happened to me. I like to get rocko's quest going too so you can more easily just run through. I never bothered with any of the chests in that area as a farm before, I will now though. Even with 1017 steam logged hours on this there are still those good little tips to be had. :) Another good midget farm is the over look of the badass constructor and also the chests just outside control core angel, except the good loot tends to fly off the edge there. In a way it's funny watching the orange just fly off never knowing what it was. Either way these are much faster than going all the way through the digistruct gauntlet anyway.
