Looking back I think my worst injury is when I fell off my bike and got road rash on a dirt/gravel road, I have to got to the ER to get rocks out of my knee.
I've split my head open 3+ times. Only 3 major times that I can remember, but I've been told my cranium has taken quite the beating over the years. All good now though... I think
@@hobbinsjogsohn9996 I hope you still have all your marbles. I've had stiches on the back of my head twice now. One from falling on a treadmill as a kid and once for blacking out from exhaustion and hitting my head on the corner of a desk on the way down
Had a golf ball sized abscess in my groin. When I was released from the hospital they were pulling the gauze out of me like a clown pulling a string of bandanas
Mordecai was the first character i played as in borderlands, it was a co-op playthrough with my dad and bl1 will always have a special place in my memories
Worst injury: My wife and I were snorkeling in Hawaii once and saw a sea turtle. We decided to watch it, and ended up floating really close to some big rocks of coral, which are extremely sharp. When we came up for a breath, some big waves crashed into both of us and slammed us up against the coral multiple times. My wife was actually sucked up underneath the coral rock and blacked out and I had to go underneath and grab her. We ended up climbing on top of the coral rocks to get away from the waves. We came out with tons of gashes and bruises, black eyes, ripped off toenail and fingernails, a concussion, and some broken ribs.
My mother used to sell Tupperware and knives when I was a little younger and I sat on one of the containers that had the blades in it and the lid collapsed, causing a knife to go through my left knee and almost remove my leg. I was 3
Ah cool, thats horrific. Though I question the strength of tupperware if a 3 year old sitting on it can break it. But also who stores knives vertically?
@Will-mk5pj the knife was just kinda thrown in it because she would recieve them in large shipments and it was kinda stuck in the lid so it just kinda went right through
Oh, it's not even close. In fact, I love BL1 revolvers so much that I've spent multiple playthroughs just running around trying to only use them. There's just something euphoric about having a giant hand cannon mixed with the Borderlands weapon formula.
@@Clooger- I feel like that is why people love the DPUH so much. like yea it has insane damage but it is honestly one of very few guns in bl2 that I would consider a "hand cannon". Hopefully we get more guns like this in bl4. Could possibly even bring back the revolver as one of the weapon types.
It's partially because bl1 has better scaling. If you could consistently 1 shot minion level foes in the endgame with a revolver style pistol on Zero without needing slag, the Bee, or an extremely narrowly optimized build, they would probably feel a whole lot better. It also doesn't help that a surprising number of basic enemies have critical spots are an absolute pain to hit in Bl2. Loader variants that only have their tiny eye, snags being much harder to crit with their mouth closed, threshers having eyes on their sides but always facing the player, etc. Utterly miserable. In Bl1 it's just aim and kra-pow.
The problem was combining revolver and pistol ammo. Revolvers had more ammo, more speed to use said ammo, and thus less punch. That's why I actually like using the Unforgiven in 2 as well as 1, it's slow but strong af on headshots
My worst injury has been 3 dislocations in my left knee leaving me with a stiff knee I couldn't bend for an entire year until I finally got approved for surgery. After finally getting surgery I was stuck on my couch with nothing to do and that's when I found Borderlands 2 and most importantly your RU-vid channel!! Yes I spent 120 hours of my life stuck on a couch farming for the 94% Sham with Zer0 because I could. I loved every second of it!
@Joltzdude139 yeah, I'm honestly not sure how I made it through it other than blind luck. Should have been hide of teramorphus farming that day instead I guess
Just started my first ever bl1 run on Mordecai, so I am excited to watch you play! My worst injury was when I accidently pulsed an immersion blender on my finger.
QOTD Answer. I work in the steel industry and had a 100+pound black of steel on a magnet hanging up in the air. The magnet disengaged while I was cleaning under it, and it fell and crushed two of my fingers, resulting in a pretty bloody mess. They look kind of funny now, but I can still feel them for the most part.
I was riding my friends bike to school. Long story short, the brakes didn't work and I hit the curb and I fell on my arms against said curb, breaking them both at the same time
Two words... Testicular Torsion... When i was a kid, balls were supposed to drop, but instead, the first ball got stuck, so they had to open the sack to pull it down, however, if you had it first time, there is a chance the other ball gets stuck aswell... It did... Needless to say, it kinda hurt...
The first time I did that dlc, I instinctively grenade jumped over the hospital fence and skipped hank. I legit didn't even realize I had skipped a boss.
Alright my worst injury was when I was a kid I was playing in the back of my house bare footed and I accidentally kicked a piece of rusty old metal roof and it sliced my toe open, never told my parents anything and dealth with it on my own and I low-key thought I was gonna lose my big toe or even my whole foot because of it, luckily that didn't happen but being a kid when it happened had me scared beyond belief.
I recently dislocated my shoulder, and because of the way I dislocated it, I was forced to leave work for over 6 months. (your videos have helped a lot and gotten me back into borderlands during the healing process so thank you!)
i see a lot of challenge runs that im like no way i can do this but this challenge is one that i love to see how far he gets and how far i can do it too. thank you joltz for the amazing content
My worst injury is one people can't see, my depression. It prevents me from doing the bare minimum like going outside without getting stomach pains and cold sweats and having a job because of fear of failure. I just can't be happy :/ Love the videos Joltz!
Got into a car accident 7 months ago at work and still out on workers comp. Can’t stand or sit for longer than half an hour at a time, love the videos ❤
YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Favorite Borderlands, favorite characters AND favorite gun type! This is gonna be hype! No other Borderlands game has captured just how CRUNCHY the revolvers feel!
I buckled fracture my forearm when I was 15 worst pain I ever felt especially seeing my bone break so clean it was scary and disgusting huge fan keep up the great work
it's super cool to see you do this run! my favorite gun type, and the funniest thing is, I'm doing a pseudo revolver run myself that I started a few days ago, cleared DLC 2 and 4 with a 2 mag masher and my first cash run of Knoxx, first chest? defiler.
When i learned the Doc-Mercy Skip existed, Krieg was out and was the only character i played, I learned 8years later that it was indeed not my fault i could not do the jump, that lead to some heavy annoyance back then.
This game is the best, I'm happy someone is playing this in 2024! I miss the Crawmerax & Knox base runs, makes me want to DL it again just to do runssss. Oh the good ol' days
Super excited to see my favorite character played again! QOTD: a few years ago i was in a four wheeler accident i suffered a concussion, brain hemorrhage, and a hairline fracture in my arm, lost a major amount of motor control of my left arm but after about a year of physical therapy i was able to recover to about 95 % motor function and no other major issues!
Back a few years ago my Mum had a rather large, heavy, ornate porcelain plate hung above a door frame for decoration. Fast forward to me doing some renovations and carrying a step ladder through the house, vertically, thus causing this plate to get knocked off the wall and onto my head. Wound up with my skull cracked, my head glued back together, and a few days in A&E lol
One day at school when I was a kid, a couple other kids stole my homework which was a big sheet of paper with a stuff written that I was gonna use to do my presentation. They eventually decided to give it back but they threw it to me and I tripped backwards. The problem is that, in front of the classroom, theres like a step so the teacher stands in there and sees the whole class which was like 30-40 kids and I was standing just in front of it. When I tripped I hit the back of my head in that step and got my skull cracked as well.
Idk what it is, but there’s just a certain charm about BL1 that the other borderlands games haven’t been able to replicate. Same thing also applies to Halo CE compared to the other Halos.
Chipped the bone that your patella tracks in. Fully opened me up and put two screws to put it back in. I also had a high chance to dislocate my knee afterwards so they cut my quad muscle and wrapped it around my knee to make it stable. 4 years later and one quad is still smaller
After i dont even know exactly how long of not playing i finally decided to get this, bl2, and tps again on switch and have realized that i forgot just how much i love this game more than the sequels
My worst injury isn't as extreme as some of the other ones around here, but once, back when my brothers were in scouts, I tagged along for a hike they were going on, and at one point was standing near our (sadly gone) very hyper/eager dog. He noticed something, and sprinted *full speed* behind me, and dragged his leash across the back of my knees, rug burning the *crap* out of them. I then had to walk the entire hike with the *pits of my knees* rug burned. I still remember the hike so vividly because of the pain I was in forcing me to focus on everything I could to distract myself lmao.
My WORST injury was back in elementary school on the playground, we had a wire fence that separated the basketball court from the grass field, the fence had sharp metal that was curved to resemble a heart shape well… I was playing with some class mates and I wrapped my hand around THAT part and from the base of my pinky to the tip the fence FILET my pinky and bone was exposed. It was great explaining that to the doctors while in shock, they gave me 20 stitches and pain killers.
Joltz for a QOTD you should do like "What's your favorite Borderlands games art style and why" type of question. I always forget how awesome BL1 looks even though it is so old.
Damn. This is gonna be an enjoyable series. QOTD: My worst injury would have to be the ripping, tearing and dislocation of my middle finger. It required Stiches, a Metal Rod through to keep it straight and 8 weeks of not being able to move a majority of my right hand.
YAY lets go baby! This is gonna be a fun one! Might take awhile though with the world drop only legendary weapons. BL1, despite it's jank, is still my favorite of the games
My worst injury was quite a recent one happened only a month ago, I broke my foot in 2 places while in a mosh pit which lead to me having to have 2 screws and a metal plate put in, all I need now is blindness to cosplay as Tk baha lol
My worst injury was in a car crash when I was 15. Was taking a nap with my foot on the dash.. Woke up and lo and behold the driver had also taken a nap, and we drove straight into a One Way sign. It slammed through the windshield and nearly cut off my foot from the ankle. I was helicopter lifted to the best hospital within 100 miles and had surgery that night. Thankfully I have my foot and full functionality due to a great doctor. Pretty wild experience.
Fractured my skull. When I was a kid, I slipped when walking down the polished wooden stairs we had at the time while in my socks. It was at night time so it could have been pretty bad if it wasn't for my parent's bedroom being at the bottom and me waking them up by hitting my head into the door.
Been waiting for a Borderlands 1 playthrough. Even though Borderlands 1 is the oldest borderlands I feel like I've seen more people playing bl2 or bl3 and just forget about it even though it's one of my favorite games
Giving some homegrown vegetables to my neighbor and slipping on the porch, causing me to fall and hit my shin slicing my skin to the bone. Did not need surgery, just needed 3 butterfly closures and a big bandage…took nearly 10 hours to fully stop bleeding
My worst injury was when I fell into a fountain that had rocks at the bottom, except there was no water. One of the rocks gashed a really big hole on my head that needed me to get stitches for weeks. Even today, 20 years later, and I still have an indent and scar there, though thankfully high enough that it's covered by hair.
Got an underground wasp sting the upper corner of my eye socket in middle school and now I'm traumatized to anything that buzzes and passes by my ear. Had to also get a wasp out of my apartment today so that was nice.
I worked at a kitchen for Hy-Vee ( a grocery store chain here in the midwest). While using a mandolin for slicing vegetables, I ended up removing the corner and tip of my right hand ring finger. It was pretty painful, but the worst part is I was so young and dumb that I was using hydrogen peroxide to clean it. Now I have a really weird spot of skin that hurts when it is cold outside. I also realized later in life that my fingerprints didn't match up to my records anymore, which ended up in a fun experience at a police station when I was getting a security license.
I had a dog bite my arm when I was, I think, 10. It got infected, and they said if the red patch on my arm went past a line they had drawn on my arm to come back, and it did. I was in the hospital for 1 week with the chance of losing my right arm to infection. Luckily, I made it through and still have my right arm, but I have scars permanently from the dog bite.
QOTD: the worst injury i got was in second grade when i fell of the monkey bars and got a fracture in my wrist and a break in my arm a couple inches up from it
my worst injury: i went to bootcamp for marines & broke my femur in half due to a hairline fracture i had for 5 days. got surgery 2 hours afterwards & now a rod in my entire upper leg. was in a wheelchair for 3 months, on crutches for 3 weeks or so. it’s been years since then & i’m happy to report that my femur has fully recovered
When I was around 8 years old, we were at a park that had wooden swings. I was standing on the swing and jumped off but didn't jump far enough away, so the swing ended up hitting me in the head and gave me a 6 inch gash on my scalp that needed 8 staples to close.
One time in school I was taken by the hands spun and thrown onto the ground. Of course there's always a catch, and this is no exception. Right where my head would land there was already something. A wedge shaped rock. Oddly enough the part that actually hurt was the weeks after in which I had to deal with the glue used to seal my noggin stuck in my hair.
I remember my brother telling me about the Doc Mercy geyser skip. We had no idea why my brother could do it but I couldn't. We later learned that Krieg is just that much thicker than everyone else.
Worse injury you say? Well the one I can think of off the top of my head is when I was in third grade I had a metal toy airplane, I was running around playing with it when another kid ran into me. I fell face first onto that little toy plane, and it went straight into my eye. It misses my eyeball barely but SHREDDED the daylights out of the surrounding tissue, and I had to have the injury glued shut.
I work as a variety performer and while practicing fire lasso the flaming rope wrapped around my legs and gave me 2nd and 3rd degree burns up to about my knees.
My worst injury was a big scrape on my left knee when I was 7, which didn't heal completely until months after, because the wound kept reopening after other trips and falls. I swear I had a personal beef with gravity when I was younger. You would still be able to see the mark where it was now.
I always loved going down to the beach in zombie dlc and just power leveling my weapon proficiency and challenges. Good times. My worst injury was getting a pencil in my eye when I was 5 years old. Somehow I managed to get the best vision in my family.
Back in 2004, I was skating home from a friend's house and tripped on a rock. I fell with both of my arms in from of me, right arm farther out, so when all my body weight hit, my left arm snapped in half and both bones were push out and over where they broke off (though, luckily didn't break skin)
There's a couple injuries that are kinda on the same level, but I think the one that was the worst was when I was younger, I was sliding down our stairs in a sleeping bag for whatever reason. Until the last time when my feet hit the floor at the bottom and flipped me up, slamming my head into the edge of the radiator on the wall. My parents describe it as "It looked like someone broke in and tried to split you in half with an axe."
In terms of worst injury... It's a tossup between the time I ran into the corner of a table running from a decidedly dead bee and my forehead started bleeding, (real dramatic like, too, fell to my knees and had the blood drip onto my arm before realizing it was my forehead) or it's the time I cut open my finger trying to chop up a bell pepper. Still have the J shaped scar it left on my finger.
Torn medial meniscus during the Army. Blew my knee out during a 10km ruck march and proceeded to ignore it for two years. Now, post-surgery, my knee dislocates if I squat on my left leg
When I was a teenager I was a big bushcraft nerd, and for my confirmation, I was given a really nice axe! On my second tree the axe slipped and went right into my leg and cut 4 inches wide and down to the tibia. Bled like hell, but luckily I wasn't alone in the woods, otherwise I might have died from blood loss
Was jumping on rocks at the bus loop in middle school, misjudged one jump and gashed the front of my leg open so bad I thought I was seeing bone. The scar still hasn't healed almost 20 years later.
Worst injury for me was when I broke my arm the second time. Got pushed while standing on a piano bench, landed on my arm, and had to not only get it put in a cast, but pins put in as well. Not a fun summer at all, and you can still see the scarring from the pins near my wrist.
My first ever BL1 run was a gunslinger Mord. Found a machine pistol and with the fire rate perks the sound would keep bugging out because it was firing too fast. Then I found a masher and a defiler, combined that with an ammo regen mod with even MORE fire rate, and I still never had to scrounge for ammo since pistol and revolver ammo are separate.
I had facial reconstructive surgery, two years ago, and my jaw was wired shut and for about a month or two I had a liquid diet through a straw. I also still have numbness in my face and a numb spot on my thigh, where they took a bone graph off of my hip, but now I can smile confidently
My worst injury was probably two weeks when i got tboned by a lifted pickup truck. I spent three days in the hospital, and actually watched a lot of your videos to deal with the boredom lol.
My worst injury was when i was 10. There was this thorn bush with a hole at the bottom you could crawl through, and when i was crawling through i friend grabbed my leg to scare me, and i freaked out. The thorns ended up ripping most of the skin on the back of my neck off, and i had a stay in the hospital for a few weeks. Thankfully, the cuts weren't deep, but it was traumatising for younger me.
I broke my wrist/arm at a skateboard park because I thought I could jump in the air like the teenagers with their bikes and short story I failed and my bike landed on me…. So RIP😂
