Looking back, I think it was a wasted opportunity that in borderlands 3 NPC’s don’t have different dialogues for each vault hunter, only the vault hunters have different dialogues. Like, I imagine it would have been nice if Zane and Moxxi had some more banter on their previous affair, or Amara having unique conversations with both Lilith and Maya.
Hewie666 Hewie666 My favorite part is when your character meets Moxxi: Athena and Wilhelm don’t really notice her too much, Claptrap is still Claptrap, Nisha is jealous of Moxxi, Timothy falls head over heels for her, and Aurelia just blatantly mocks Moxxi for her attire. And Moxxi even has her own personal responses. Such a wasted opportunity to not have it in BL3
I believe the most important bit of dialogue is the very last chronological point these six Vault Hunters do get unique dialogue, when Jack is about to destroy the Claptrap product line. Athena is understandably disgusted, Wilhelm and Nisha are callously amused, AURELIA of all people is rather disturbed by the excessive cruelty, Jack is hiding serious panic behind a joking facade, and Claptrap…poor Claptrap. The little guy just sounds so hurt and betrayed, like he’s genuinely shocked and saddened that Jack would so sadistically turn on him. Superb acting all around.
Yeah, they didn't seem to put any work into integrating her into the cast. So much so that I don't even "buy" that she was canonically there. Krieg and Gaige can be seen in many different cutscenes but nobody even has a voiceline that says Aurelia's name.
Probably doesn’t help that she absolutely has no reason to be here other than “Oh Hohohoho, murdering the poor is such a gaff”, she doesn’t need the money nor does she seem to be the type to take orders from a lowly code monkey.
yeah, that's because gearbox rushed to get Aurelia released as soon as possible. so instead of working on unique interactions they used generic responses (Possibly used during beta testing). I believe some of it was also side effects of Claptrap being originally planned as DLC and the body double being one of the 4 mains. not sure why they switched them though.
@@AylaBelli Ironically, I think the generic responses work well. Having the super rich person who thinks she needs to be recognized and respected by everyone be the character that people barely pay actual attention to, to the point of not bothering to remember her name and just calling her "Vault Hunter", is a fairly rare instance of actually good comedy from this series. Shame that it was probably unintentional.
I love how Timothy acts around Moxxi, he thinks everything she does is cute. And he always gets flustered and nervous. I really hope they date in the next game
she actually uses this exact same line when she is crossing into the moonshot bullet on part 1. I don't know for sure but I think her character was a rushed DLC character so they had to cut corners with her
Its really sad what they did to her, I really like her character, if she wasn't rushed, maybe she would've got more attention, and maybe, just maybe, she wouldn't die on Borderlands 3.
@@AylaBelli that reminds me of that moment in 3rd and 4th zer0 echolog from bl2 where he accepted the challenge and decapitated zeke but that quote was supposed to be on 4th
It's nice knowing most of Jack's crew except Athena, claptrap, and Timothy is dead still don't know why spare hammer locks sister just to kill her in bl3
yeah, not the best move. I understand Nisha and Wilhelms deaths. But Aurelia joining the cult in 3 doesn't really make sense. she clearly has no intention of being in a cult, she just bores easily and I think bringing her back as a playable character (potentially DLC) again would have been a smarter move.
@@python1972 that wasn't Timothy the real Timothy has his face altered to look like Jack and he is in boarderlands 3 dlc and Athena was spared thanks to the watcher
3L3M3NT4LP4ND4 Athena survived, rewatch the cutscenes. Also the events at the very end of Tales from the Borderlands takes place after Athena tells the crimson raiders her story. Thats why she is a selectable team members in tales ending!
