Rocket jumping is the normal route for me

It is definitely tricky in some sections

yeah with intentional level design there's potential for some pretty fun platforming

There's a bunch of TF2 rocket jumping maps out there, they're pretty awesome!

That's like almost every platformer game

​@MrHemFun Having to land on certains areas or risk dying is in every platformer lol. No fundamental difference between lava and spikes/pits/etc

As an old Quake 1 and 3 player, I can't understand why everyone think RJ was "created" in tf2

@@silvach2 People dont. RJ as a mechanic is just the most catered to in tf2 with jump maps many of which feature pogo sections like the comment above stated. Its just simply the most known and most accessible form of it and almost definitely the most catered to out of the genre.

@@silvach2 Rocket jump was not created in tf2, it was however perfected in tf2. The amount of depth the source engine has lead the community to get pretty insane at it. Shoutout to those old Quake movement heads, but tf2 got a bit more Rocket jumping content in general. Just adding in sticky jumping alone really accentuates just how much there is to learn about the tf2 movement. I hope that helped clear up my perspective a bit. I'm a long time fan of tf2 movement and movement scene in general. I'll always be interested in the movement techs of games, no matter what kind it is. Like how in bl2 Zero can use Execute at long range multiple times to catch a flying target Or how in bl2 there is two types of rocket jumps, with the multishot and the normal shot. It reminds me a bit of a normal sticky jump vs a double. Or in Soldier tf2 terms hitting a synch from the start vs a normal shot. TLDR~I'm far too stoned to argue. yeah rocket jumping was invented in Unreal tournament or whatever you said.

@@rngsmiles3979 obviously you didn't play rocket arena in Q3 then if you think TF2 perfected it. There were many techniques in Q3 to speed up the jumps by frame perfect bumps and strafes. TF2 just tried to mimic it
