So where we are in northern Alberta, our well water has an oil smell, but it's caused by an iron bacteria, and it actually looks like there's an oil film on the water, however it's just a natural slime mold which differentiates itself from actual oil by breaking up like glass on the surface of the water. It's completely harmless, just a bit unpleasant to the nose.

The name of the your station is similar to mine, maybe you could call it Prendergast Bore lol, quite often my name is mispelt with a T instead of D. Regards Steve 😊
