This is almost hilarious, but it makes sense. Having worked in and around the journalistic profession myself, not as a trained journo but as a writer, I could only explain her comment that many people, especially "men", look at Bozo Bojo and actually admire him, this way: journalists tend to admire traits in one-another that other people would despise in another human being. I repeat: journalists tend to admire traits in one-another that other people would despise in another human being. Especially people with a moral compass. You need to understand this about journalists. This has been proven true time and again. Rarely should you listen to a journo's estimation of what is "good" in a human being. Why do you think they are in the vanguard of this pandemic narrative and all the lies that accompany it? They have finally, as a collective, revealed their true ethos: they are self-centred people, power-hungry in their own way, under the influence of influence, and they sleep easily at night even in the knowledge that they have sold out the entire human race and its future for the sake of keeping their jobs. In order to stay employed, they will convince themselves of the "rightness" of the views they promulgate, most of which are terribly destructive. These people might be called "media" but they don't actually mediate reality, they distort it and bring us a version of reality that suits them, or their overlords. In fact, most "men" surely would NOT look at this balatron Boris and say, "there goes the Übermensch". No-one of either gender who has any moral fibre would admire anything at all about him or just about any other current world leader. If these impostors win elections at all, this says more about the electoral process than it does about them. These processes are either inherently corrupt, or they provide a paucity of choice. In either case, they are no better than the mechanisms tyrants in totalitarian regimes use to gain and retain power. But at least the propagandists in these regimes don't even pretend to be "journalists" (whatever they really are). They don't pretend to subject their society to critical analysis, or even to bring their audience events as they actually occurred. To those of you who always believed Boris Johnson was a clown but didn't want to judge him superficially, I can only say your first instinct was correct. Who cares about his "love of the classics" and preference for fast cars? He IS a bloody idiot, and like most other world leaders currently, he is an emotional cripple and a spiritual imbecile. His kind would only appeal to people with similar qualities.

Sadly - people think they are voting for a PM BUT our system of constituency based elections means we are NOT voting for a PM (he is not a President after all) but voting for a Party based on their Manifesto (aka promises) What happens though is the media will personally attack the leader of the party they do not want to win - a case in point was Corbyn..... anti-semitism, personal attacks on his appearance, photos doctored to show him in a russian hat in front of the Kremlin or in front of terrorists etc etc AND the people think that single person is the embodiment of the party and all its policies...when in fact they need to look into the manifesto and what each party has to say / offer. I have heard so many times "I'm not voting for 'x' !" the answer is NO you're not because he's / she's not one of your constituency candidates....and How many times have PM been replaced in office? Thre PM is an importatnt role but the party has the upper hand and they can be replaced. The FPTP system is simply unfit for purpose and allows such unrepresentative parliaments as this - consider the majority of votes cast in 2019 were for parties that did not support Brexit or would have re-run the referendum based on a better understanding of it's implication (roughly 60% to 40%) and yet we get an 80 seat majority for this shower of corrupt, inept and frankly amoral turds.

Aren't we sick to our guts yet of embodiments of greed and undeserved privilege? Comedic charlatans blinding us with their fatuous vocabularies? Attlee was a dry stick too, and he, together with more colourful. passionate ministers and MPs, constructed the bones of a Welfare State we have all benefited from - and are now, apparently, all too happy to see dismantled before our complacent eyes, and before our own grandchildren can derive similar value. What is left of it, because those who can most afford to pay more in taxes resent doing so? Privilege is something too many people hanker for - unless they see other people "less deserving" than themselves exploiting the system more ruthlessly than themselves. More than one person has told me that they favour Rishi Sunak to succeed bodger - not for his talents or experience (?) but because he already enjoys the great privilege of such enormous inherited wealth that he would be virtually unbribable and therefore incorruptible - whatever his views on policy may be!

Martin Hammond, who was Johnson’s housemaster and taught him classics, spotted early on that the prime minister showcased a certain irresponsibility and inattention to facts. Writing of him in a school report in April 1982, he said: “Boris really has adopted a disgracefully cavalier attitude to his classical studies . . . Boris sometimes seems affronted when criticised for what amounts to a gross failure of responsibility (and surprised at the same time that he was not appointed Captain of the School for next half): I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation which binds everyone else.”

Never mind if it was made up of half truths, or even outright lies, none of that mattered then. It seems highly hypocritical now that those very same people who enabled him then are complaining about him now, when he is out of their control. The bare minimum I expect in any politician is that they can do the regular tasks with at least a level of professionalism. That they can give an interview, or make a speech in public, without appearing to be a lazy narcissist who didn't do any preparation and doesn't know his job/brief.
