There should have been charges brought against her and Kwarteng for the wilful damge they did to the UK, the 'think tanks' and hedge funds made an absolute killing.
@@TimComley sorry, some of us are a bit unhappy with the economic pit these thieves have left us in. Maybe you're rich enough to not care, or you're just a mug.
As much as she’s annoying and her policy was negligent it wasn’t willful damage, she clearly wrongly believes in the free market mechanisms and the trickle down theory to bring prosperity down to the masses.
She is insane. I can't believe anyone would LAUGH as they say they tried to abolish the Equalities act. What kind of monster actively tries to take away people's protections against unfair treatment and laughs about it in public! Yes, people with disabilities should be treated fairly, women should get equal pay to men, and women shouldn't be discriminated against and fired because they're pregnant! The irony is, it's the Liz Truss fan base saying "We need to have more children!" but then try to take away the protections that encourage women to have more children. Absolutely insane. As for Iain Dale, well he's always been repugnant - Who in their right mind a attacks and tackles a pensioner to the ground for expressing the free speech Iain claims to hold so dear. They are both disgusting individuals.
I hated Thatcher, not for being who she was but, for her policies. You knew she had a ideology and a thought process. But I hate Truss because she has no principles, policies, thoughts or feelings.
LBC has far bigger issues like failing to tell the truth about basic stuff. They never say "The government doesn't control interest rates or food prices" when people whine about their mortgage or food costs.
@@Dynasty1818 It's always funny that right-wingers will claim every single economic success was all down to them but economic failings are always 'out of the governments control'.
@ineedmoreflavour1955 how is it a weird comment? We keep allowing people to platform these damaging politicians who share a stage with the likes of Steve Bannon. Its not about balance, this country as plenty of normal right wing commentators no need to give truss airtime
Just utterly oblivious as to how the entire country feels about her time in office, she complains that she had no real power, imagine if she did, did enough damage in just a few days whilst apparently having no real power.
Question for Liz T: What do your parents think of you now? As a person who crushed the economy within days of becoming PM and sharing a platform with Steve Bannon.
She also gave us a big demonstration of why Corbyn should never be PM. I.E. what happens when you make unfunded pledges and can't demonstrate to markets that the government can't pay its debts.
@@JamalBrown-k1x Interesting (but 'Corbin' this 'Corbin 'that... - look at Clegg and Hamoron IN government). There have been text books of manifestos in the past from the UK gov that had been published at the expense of tax money, but rapidly became void, or at best; moot. Then evolved into tabloid fodder pretending to be contracts. But spoken words seem to have lost meaning or worth in the Tory recent history because of flat-earthers like her. Could you cite a country that 'got it right'? I can't see how any westminster grifter mp can better constantly talking bs.
I think that’s exactly right. Post general election, lots of Tory seats lost, who occupies an ultra safe seat and has unfinished business? Mary Elizabeth Truss. Who are these people who vote for her as their MP?
Dizzy Lizzy should hand back every penny she was paid for total incompetence, then get a job elsewhere if anyone would employ her. MORALS NOT MONEY STOP THE TORIES STOP THE LIES STOP MONES BOAT
what a terrible interview. basically allowed her to spout her nonsence for an hour and and a half with barely any pushback or accountability for the state she left the country in.
Cannot watch this. Expected a lot more of Iain Dale, he’s usually much better than this. Get her on the Rest is politics with Campbell and Rory. Now that would be an interview to behold
Her absolute incompetence is causing us huge pain in mortgage fees after crashing the economy . I’m not sure why she is still relevant . She should be hiding away I shame
Do you have no shame you have done more harm for every family in the country Please don't spout about acconimics you clearly are clueless Every economic advisor told you repeatedly the carnage you would cause Shame on you
Iain just lets her say whatever she wants without challenge. No wonder she chose him to interview her. Iain, you are meant to hold public figures accountable and that means interrogating everything they say.
I’m so shocked that the framework of our political media can see it fitting to give her any time, it is quite scary in a way. ‘There’s never been a limit to what I think I can do’… now that is even scarier…
This was more of a therapy session than a searching interview, Ian. What brought Liz Truss down was not her philosophy of growth but her plan of unfunded tax cuts, to which the markets and the BOE naturally reacted. But her philosphy of growth too is flawed. The current most acute threat to growh is increasing income inequality. You can put more money into the pockets of the businesses but they are not going to invest it if they do not have the demand for their products and services. Quite obviously, the Tory's levelling-up policy did not get a buy-in from Truss.
What makes her think that her policies are what the people want? Her argument is not just true for conservatives policies but policies that are not popular with the electorate are not going to be implemented because of how the houses of commons and lords work together with the independent bodies. the fact that she didn't know this, means that she doesn't know how democracy works
This is a terrible interview, punched pulled, total lack of pressure on the interviewee. Liz is interviewed as an author here, not as a former PM. Format is so off and wrong.
Unbelievable lack of insight and contrition from the most incompetent PM in British political history as Iain Dale gives her a cushy ride. He should have demanded an unreserved apology to the British people instead of allowing her to peddle her deluded drivel.
She claims nothing is unchangeable or irreversible in politics and then lists all the reasons why as a minister she wasn’t able to change anything. The final attempt to change something ended in being forced from office by the establishment who wanted to maintain the status quo
This was a chance for a deep journalistic interview, but it seems a very soft ball interview. No challenge of her arguments - just teeing her up to list her thoughts. I respect journalists on the right who can still challenge those who they support and thought Iain might be one, clearly not.
Genuinely terrible interview with a terrible host. The only decent thing to come out of it was that Truss said she didn’t understand how the economy was set up and the implications of her decisions.
What shameful journalism. It's not a smear when my pension tracker shows a significant impact on the growth for the period of her 'budget' madness compared to before and after. How pathetic 'poor me, poor me' when talking about the passing of a lady she isnt fit to have been in the same room. Shameful level of tripe from lbc.
If this lady can rise to the position of PM of Britain, I have full confidence in my own abilities to perform neurosurgery with my eyes closed. (*I have no formal medical qualifications nor education)…
After watching this and watching some of her earlier political rallies on youtube, I can't help but think that a lot of what she says and does comes from having a lifelong 'chip on her shoulder' and deep seated narcissism. Please don't think I mean that in a patronising or misogynistic way, I might be wrong of course, but when she discusses wanting to change the world, relationship with her parents, wanting to disrupt convention, wanting to reestablish conservative ideology yet seeing herself as outside the establishment, complete lack of accountability, it's almost as though she's needing to convince herself of her own self-perception. A sort of self-inflicted paranoia. I don't know, that's just what came across to me.
This one is far too animated to be a normal function logical person as a politician. I'm demanding she goes...

Her lack of self awareness and contrition is appalling. Why is she still being given a platform to spout her lies and deceit. LBC stop treating your listeners like plebs, she is trying to rewrite history and you are complicit. Why is Iain Dale still employed?
This is sort of like some one driving there car into a wall at 60 mph and when asked if they thought it was a mistake saying “no in-fact I was just going too slow, if I was going 80mph I’m sure I would have made it through the wall”
