Ironically (as I am posting on it), I would put it down to the rose in social media and the internet in general. There are a lot of gullible and desperate people out there, who will believe anything they hear if they align with their beliefs. Sites like this feed them (and us) video after videos that align with their beliefs and they end up in echo chambers. If it isn't done so, critical thinking really ought to be taught in schools.

Millions of foreigners and foreign students can VOTE in the UK election -'It can't be right' Commonwealth citizens(India..) can vote in all elections, including general elections. Qualifying Commonwealth citizens must be resident in the UK and either have leave to remain in the UK or not require leave. Your leave to remain can be indefinite, or time limited (international students, HongKong BN(O) visa...).
