Follow two of the youngest transgender children in Britain as their very ordinary families face truly extraordinary challenges…
Georgina and Jasmine were born as identical twin girls in Warrington. But at the age of 3, Georgina became George, and the 7 year old has lived happily as a boy ever since.
In Leicester a once shy 7 year old boy has now become a confident and happy girl, but only within the safety of the family home. Now the family must decide if the time has come to finally go to school as a girl.

George is still very young. I think young kids associate the word "twin" with 2 brothers or 2 sisters who look the same and of course are the same gender. As he grows up he will realise there are also fraternal with one child a boy and the other a girl. Also he is struggling with allot of emotional turmoil and confusion. Kids deal with this through anger and tantrums. He still needs to learn how to regulate these emotions like every child his age.
@jen2804
@jen2804 3 года назад
Parent. There is no dad. He walked out. George is angry on multiple levels and it hurts. Having a parent abandon you is hard enough, feeling uncomfortable in your own body is hard enough, and having a constant reminder that your sister is everything everyone wants you to be is hard enough. George has no outlet. Mom is doing the best she can. George also got teased at his old school. Kids his age have ended their lives being bullied. He desperately needs an outlet, probably therapy, but he's not intentionally being nasty. He's hurting.

Just to be clear: as a boy you don't have to be transgender to be able and allowed to wear skirts and dresses. This also applies to girls. Being transgender or not is independent of clothing style and / or toys.

The parents of the twins especially since they are allowing George to live as a male need to explain to him that it’s not ok to treat his sister like that regardless what it reminds him of. There is a scene in the movie An Education when the girl asks her parens where were they, as they were the ones who were supposed to have told her NO when she didn't have the strength , foresight, maturity, to do so. These parents are accepting of the child's gender identity. But they are also encouraging it. I think that, if it is really necessary for the child's well-being, then they should let the boy live as a girl ... but they shouldn't encourage it ... just look the other way and let it be ... dont make an issue out of it ... just behave as if it isn't anything to notice, like it is "normal." By something like doing the child's nails, they are showing the child that it is okay and they are encouraging it and praising it and enforcing it... and the child sees that he/she will get extra attention this way, and maybe will get less attention if he/she decides to go back to the birth gender.

This is my experience with transgender feelings: Up until about age 19 (started at around age 6) i always wanted to be a boy. I loved how free they seemed, and not so many female stereotypes and makeup, dressing up, cliques, etc. I felt i was a boy because i loved video games (my dad loves video games), and was very into music of all kinds and dressed as a boy and acted like one (i was very rough and playful and a goof ball as most kids were) but i felt different. I was called a tomboy, and i referred to myself as that. One day my dad took me to a video game store and i walked in with my hair tucked into a ball cap (trying to pass as a boy) and i was trying to act all cool and i ended up just embarrassing my dad LOL. I called myself Jimmy, and sometimes i would walk around the neighborhood with my friends with a boombox on my shoulder playing some boy like songs, tryna be cool like a boy. this was in the early 2000s. Now I'm 28, and have been struggling so much with my identity. Always felt like a man inside. Even now I just always feel like a man trapped in a female body. However, I learned that I have full female hormones and body and im completely female in all scientific ways. I have been doing my best to accept myself for who i truly am, and that is a boyish girl. I'm married to a man that i truly truly love, but i still have thoughts of women many times. I identify as a woman, with a very masculine brain (there are other reasons i feel like this: very dominant personality, go-getter, charming, adventurous, independent, aggressive), but i have noticed with time that i have very feminine aspects too, like the nurturing, loving, generous, care-giving, selfless sides. All I want to do is please people. Sometimes I can't tell if how I'm feeling is truly how I'm feeling or how society expects its citizens to be in order to function successfully in society. For the record i have my bachelor's in health and rehabilitation sciences with a minor in integrative medicine. Nothing special (sorry im self-deprecating all the time) but at least I have some knowledge under my belt.

She lost her sister, and her now brother hates her. If she doesn't get help she will begin to have problems and feel unimportant and not loved. I think their (George) main problem was they never liked being a twin, they are acting out against their sister because they can't cope with society seeing them (both twins) as the same person. This is the deep root problem that needs to be addressed. Because their behaviour towards their sister is down right out of order, it is teaching George that they can treat people however they want and teaching the sister that she can and should be used as a doormat that her feelings don't matter and she should always yield. I used they\their pronouns for George because I don't think they know who they are yet. Whereas Paddy is a she to her core.

My first thought about George was that he was tired of always being seen as part of a double pack. If the parents had treated the twins individually from the beginning, none of this might have happened. It tears my heart apart to see the girl missing her twin sister with whom she could play princess. And it tears my heart up to see how George treats his/her sister.

I had the same thought George's behaviour to his sister was down right hateful. Paddy is girl to the core you hear it in her language, "I was always a girl" and other such statements it helps that she is in a healthy headspace. Whereas George is just being loud about wanting everything boy they don't actually use the word to relate to themselves, they were awkward when Niki (who was absolutely brilliant) said he was trans too, but then again this documentary is just a snapshot of their lives we don't know what goes on when the cameras aren't their. But from this snapshot George and his sister Jasmin need therapy together and apart. George needs help to figure out who they are ( trans or gender fluid). Jasmin needs to know that George's behaviour towards her is not okay.

I'm always conflicted with these types of things. I feel like the parents have a huge influence on children. Kids are like "I like pink so I must be a girl cause only girls like pink". Kids should be taught it's okay to like the things you do, it doesn't automatically make you a boy or a girl. However I'm against parents making permanent decision for their kids. I was a boyish kid. I cried and pouted when I was forced to put on a dress. My mother tried to encourage me to play with dolls but I refused to play with them. I never liked playing with girls at school, I'd only hang out with the guys. BUT! I am an adult now and I'm super glad my parents didn't turn me into a boy. I still act a bit like a guy but I am 100% a women. Getting a sex change or doing things that will result in permanent changes to your body should only be done once the child is an adult and they are sure that's what they want
@hyperplaguerat
@hyperplaguerat 3 года назад
They don't do permanent procedures on them as kids. When kids transition they wear the clothes and hair that fits their personality. They might use puberty blockers, but that's not irreversible and gives them even more time to think about the decision.
@bluetiger2468
@bluetiger2468 3 года назад
@@hyperplaguerat I just think kids should be kids. Kids should not have to worry about telling their friends they're trans. They are kids and they're minds are still developing. They look to their parents for guidance. And if their parents are guiding them down this path, they will be more willing to go through with it even if that's not what they want. Parents can be influencing them without even know it. But if you think about all of this stuff too much, it can be super complicated. I don't have children so I don't know what the parents are going through. All I can use is my own experiences.

38:42 The mom talks about "girlie days", that's so odd; they seem really fixated on gender roles. That was never a thing in my family, we were just people and nobody cared about our gender. I was a girl that climbed trees a lot, caught frogs and leeches, hated Barbie dolls, makeup, dresses and the color pink, but liked felling trees and my dad let me climb the high ladder to clean the rain pipe, or cut wild boars into pieces. It was a good childhood without any stupid roles. Just let them be humans! A boy in our school had Barbie dolls, My Little Pony and more pink toys and we never had a problem with it. It simply wasn't important what you were - most of my friends were boys, but who cares! During puberty I had problems with developing a feminine body (maybe due to my light autism), but came to terms with it over time. Fact is that all these trans kids seem to be extremely fixated on gender roles and I wonder where that came from.

We played together with action figures and dolls, stuffed animal, cars, lego, checkers, Backgammon, puzzles, we played outside together, rolling on the grass together, playing hide and catch, climbing trees, swimming in the pool, we watched the same shows and cartoons and read the same books. It's so strange to me how people see everything as gendered now, we both did the same and I grew up to be a teenage girl and then a woman and he a teenage boy and then a man, no problems, no "gender dysphoria", no nothing. Let your kids be kids and stop gender everything, kids like what they like.

The real truth is God doesn't make mistakes when he/she creates us. There is a specific purpose for us being born either a female or a male. If the child has feelings of being the opposite, then they have something in their psychology to work out as that sex. Perhaps, it's exactly this reason that in the past, they denied and rebelled against their sex, so this is an opportunity to make the correct choice and begin turning yourself around to wholeness. One of the reasons the child might feel like the opposite sex is that perhaps he/she has had previous lifetimes of being attracted to the same sex and so this time around, he/she doesn't know which one they are. Same-sex attraction creates a schism, a confusion on sexes, in the psyche (which is our soul),. Therefore, they're just feeling the same again in this lifetime. If same-sex attraction is psychologically OK, if more and more people follow that path, the end result is the extinction of the human race. Does anyone stop and think about this, or are people just going along with the crowd or believe these ignorant "professionals." When the soul says, "I don't what I am," I believe them. Depending on the number of times they chose this path, each lifetime does reinforce this confusion and desire to follow this path again. When a parent and society ties into the child's confusion, they are reinforcing the confusion. It has been shown that the majority of children with this disphoria, change their mind when they reach puberty too. Many, if not most, have done just that. If parents and children are allowed to make that final decision and alter their physical sexual components, as an adult they can't change what the parent allowed or even encouraged them to do. What then, this soul will be so miserable, despondent, depressed to the point of taking their lives. This is so sad when their lives didn't have to turn out this way.

But this goes against biblical teaching, and om goodness, all that can go wrong w these surgeries, long term hormones, and then children growing up to change their minds. Compassion is in order, as long as parents are not driving this, but it seems you are right, for children, they should be raised w the sex/dna they were born with. No boys in dresses or girls w crew cuts. Give them time to grow up and give them a chance, as SO many kids go thru this, most of them we are finding out, embracing their true sex after puberty... I think there are ways, normal ways, plus (and many will not agree w this). prayer.etc to address demonic origins.

I think that George isn’t associating being a twin as being a girl but the other way around. I think the reason George didn’t want to wear that dress was because he wanted his own identity and to not be a twin. I think as a young child that manifested as being transgender. I feel like if I was his mom I would have taken him to therapy before just saying okay you’re a boy. That’s not to say he’s certainly not truly a boy in his heart but it feels like there is much more going on and at the very least he is having a hard time accepting himself and his relationship with his sister is suffering.
