Burt you're a wonderful human being, I'm thankful you're on this planet helping elephant's. I was so happy to see the snare removed from the leg. Many blessings to all of you 🙏
This was an amazing documentary. Burt is equally amazing in his courage to bring the story about these pygmy elephants to our attention. I salute the vets and their determination to heal the wounded elephants and preserve their habitat as well. I hope the commercial loggers and the deforestation of the unique biodiversity of this island are halted and the predervation of the forest ensures the pygmy elephants will survive long into the future.
i watched a documentary which showed many pygmy elephants killed by humans along with an orphanage of baby elephants . i thought burts work about these pygmy elephants was to stop killing these animals. then why is the killing of these special animals happening
@@khanahhalpern9338 I also heard that the Sabah Wildlife Department we’re up to all sorts of bad stuff, with animals it should be protecting and female wildlife rangers. Sounds like a mess there.
What an impressive young man. Thank you for doing all that you can to help our elephants. Elephants are family. They just want to be left alone in peace and live their lives in freedom in the forest where they belong.
What an amazing video. I loved watching it. It is so great to see the elephants started to trust Bert and allowed him to stay close to the group. Helping the wounded animal will only increased that feeling. Just hope the elephants don't meet the wrong kind of people. Restoring the jungle is something which needs to be done everywhere. Who ever allowed companies to start oil palm plantations in areas where there was jungle should be arrested and put away for life. 👍
This is hands down the best think I have ever watched as far as movies and videos ,documentaries and such ! It should be played in theaters around the world period !!!!
Amazing documentary. The young man knew just how to gain the confidence of the elephants without threatening their wild instincts. Borneo should be commended for taking steps to save these magnificent creatures and insure their future protection.
Note: Borneo is an island NOT a country/state ! Sabah is the country where these elephants are found, which used to be known as "British North Borneo", hence the main reason the people in the programme speak English.
I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary of the Borneo Elephants. They’re obviously quiet friendly and adjusted to human presence quickly. Developing a trust relationship by respecting their space is a lesson well learned. Congratulations. Thank you for protecting these intelligent giants, I’m so happy for them. I hope one day Borneo will be made an INTERNATIONAL RESERVE for Elephants in the near future with excii
This broke my heart their habits being cut down the horble wounds from the ropes thank God there is people who care to try save them.so many animals are disappearing because of man to kill go on some ones wall I love all The Animals they were put here for resin they have purpose an are our injoyment.we are take care of them not destroy them .they have family they have felling they love ..and they morn!!!why do people think above the animals?and can be so mean ..this was best documentary I have watch in while God bless the people that are trying save them I hope and pray this is change for the survival of the little elephants...we all need the trees to live they give is very air we breath ...human and animals...and we need the animals ...
When the forest and animals go, we go to, we are destroying so much of our beautiful planet, no wonder the billionaires, and governments around the world, are searching out in space are searching for a planet to live on. after they destroy this one. Remember sci-fi becomes the reality. PLEASE SAVE OUR FORESTS, ANIMALS HUMAN LIFE. SCIENCE FACTS MATTER.
Electrical Existence not.true at all, have you seen the programs and progress being made, to protect the elephants in the wild, not in zoos like the West. Also other animals are being saved, and preservation programs running, In Africa and Asia, the rangers are stopping the hunters and the Western world plus China f rom ivory buying and hunting. The governments of the world need to support these projects more.
Make sure to support the animal carers who often lose their lives rescuing creatures...there are hundreds of sanctuaries...you can donate...visit... adopt...foster... support...HELP creatures who cannot help themselves. THANK YOU !!!
Some people consider these animals a pest? They have been there for 300.000 years, wow. It is their home. So who is the pest here? Those elephants are heavenly. I love them. Borneo is so unique and beautiful. It should never be touched.
The orang-utan sharing the fruit was an interaction between different kind of animals, really wonderful to see! He’s like: “Don’t shake the tree, I’ll give you some.” 18:40
what a wonderful and talented young man. It is a pleasure watching the elephants and he. I believe he respects them as they should be respected by all of us. Thank you.
🇨🇦 ❤️🐘❤️🙏 I've just watched this video for my 2nd time and I've enjoyed it again as much as my 1st time watching it! It's honestly the best documentary about pygmy elephants that I've EVER seen. Thank you so much to Bert and the whole team! 🙏
@@christinemendis6713 Same here. It's also my 2nd time. Bert is so good looking, I could watch him all day long, every day! The elephants are cute too.
you should demand your government to execute illegal loggers and stop palm oil plantations, rich greedy palm oil businessman should not have the right to destroy your national eco system. Those business man should be beaten to death, because they are not only animal killers but also human rights abusers
So interesting that the baby elephants’ defensive strategy is to try to back kick rather than charge. It’s funny to see them keep turning their backsides to him, lol. At 16:06, Flora determines where he is by smelling with her trunk, adjusts herself slightly, pauses and acts like she’s not going to do anything and then suddenly throws a kick right at him, which came close.
I've watched this so many times over the years and it never gets old. Same as 'Biggest Nose In Borneo' about the Proboscis Monkeys in Borneo. It's actually an older doc.
Elephants are my favorite animals , I hope one day they can be happy free in the wild without fear of been killed or kidnapped at young age only to be exploted
This was so mesmerizing for me. These unique elephants are so amazing and super smart. The young man Burt is a hero!! The work he does is commendable. I highly recommend this stunningly beautiful film.
i love elephants very unique animals gentle giants very very powerful yet domesticated adhere to humanity. thailand also have programs to save this beautiful animals . great video thanks so much for this available production for us to watch on free RU-vid ❤💯🙏
HEIGHT 8.2 - 9.8 ft *INFO:* The smallest Asian elephant subspecies, Bornean elephants are distinctly smaller than their mainland cousins. They have long tails that sometimes touch the ground, relatively large ears, and straighter tusks. While they are also known as Borneo pygmy elephants due to their smaller size, at 8.2-9.8 feet tall, the Bornean elephant is the largest mammal on the island. Once believed to be remnants of a domesticated herd given to the Sultan of Sulu in the 17th century, Bornean elephants were determined by WWF to be genetically different from other Asian elephants. DNA evidence proved that these elephants were isolated about 300,000 years ago from their cousins on mainland Asia and Sumatra.
Wow - what a beautiful video! Bert's love and respect for the elephants was very poignant. Thank you to all in Sabah who protect them so that they can live long, happy lives.
Wonderful news for once, they are going to stop logging. There should be a good future for these beautiful creatures, and for future generations to go and see. Bless this lovely young man, were it not for him, they may have had a very different future. So good to hear such devotion for the wonderful wildlife in these far away countries.
The government of Borneo is Indonesia, that is corrupt and like Brasil likes money over wildlife preservation. producs with palmoil, it came from deforrested parts of Indonesia like Sumatra and Borneo.
@@Invading-Specious No we are in indonesia have a lot larger forest than malaysia. And we are protecting this pygmy elephant with all cost. The number always raising year after year
Show it that your not a liar and that its true that forrests in Indonesia are protected from the corruption and foreign compagnies that are exploiting your beautiful land.
WELL, I've got a couple of things to say!!! #1 This ranger is so handsome, why is he working ALONE!!! For I would have GLADLY been his ... "HELP-MATE"😘SERIOUSLY, this is the very first I've heard of the Pygmy Elephant, what a BEAUTIFUL and UNIQUE species!!❤🐘❤🐘❤🐘
This documentary is a wonderful thing. I hope that this video and other ones would be shown in all schools in different countries. People need to see that there is more in this world than some other petty ideas. Great job Bert.
The elephants are so lucky to have these men and women dedicated to their well being. The pain from her leg must be horrendous but to think it was inflicted by man without a heart breaks my being
That was an amazing adventure. The pygmy elephants are quite different from their africian and asian relatives. I really appreciated the fact that we were getting the story from a man who has been there his whole life so I'm pretty sure that he knows what hes talking about lol. Great stuff very interesting and informative. Loved it
Thank you to Bert for all that he has done and doing, you are an amazing human being and vetinarians who is helping in saving these special Pygmy Elephants in Borneo/Saba...you I am so grateful for your dedication and for your government finding other paths for them to travel and building the rapore with large corporations to co-exist and building their tracks back. 🙏
This man is a hero for all of us "enlightened" individuals. This is noble work and it should be made a record of and embraced. Those leaches looked horrible! OMG
These elephants live a good life by the water, lush greens and plenty of food. Not even sure if they have predators there. Compared to desert elephants, they’re definitely in a best environment (I think). Who is taking the close up shots & how? Removing the snare brought tears to my eyes. Elephants are worth all the love & just wanna say thank you to these men & women who do not hesitate to help them.
I've fallen in 💘 love with Bert & his entire elephant family. Such incredible in-laws they'd be, eh? 😊THANK YOU TO; The WWF, INCREDIBLE BERT, ALL of the lovely people & 🐘PYGMY ELLIES of BORNEO🙏!! This is an inspiringly beautiful wildlife & human documentary film! WOW!
Awesome video. Elephants are so incredible, intelligent, family oriented beauties. Ty for saving them from horrible pain by removing the snares. Ty for bringing awareness to the people of Borneo.
I love all the comments as well I want to say thank you to bert and everybody else that treated the elephants 🐘 and God bless to all of you 🙏 ❤ robin from Wisconsin
A captivating, well-presented documentary on a little known subspecies of elephant and their highly dedicated ranger, Bert (the correct spelling I hope). This is very well done, interesting throughout with excellent high-quality picture. I am glad that Borneo's government is starting to ring the changes to help protect these enigmatic creatures - and, in turn, protect Bert's career. Perhaps we'll see more of him in the future.
I. Saw this progame may be few years ago..what a beauty of nature ..i would love to be in a such expedition..may mother nature protect them..from the evilest creature of nature.
For once a happy ending for the wildlife. God bless the humans that have helped this, also the lovely young man who helped this to come about. Other animals in the wild are not so lucky, I'm afraid.
I really really enjoyed every minute of this documentary! I have had chances in the past to donate to the WWF but never took the time to. I now see the very much importance of doing so now. Just the thought of these majestic animals not roaming the jungles and forests is a preventable tragedy. Please reconsider and donate now, lives DO depend on it! And I would like to also give a giant thank you and God bless you Bert for you patience, time, and extremely hot and hard work that you must tirelessly do for these beautiful creatures. I would love the opportunity to join you! May God lead and be with you in all your journeys. Stephanie Kentucky USA🥰🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘✨😁
Fascinating to watch these wonderful beautiful gentle giants in their habitat. It was a tremendous joy to watch this video. Thanks for all the efforts and work to accomplish this beautiful educational video.
Welll that was heartbreaking and wonderful. Elephants are so unlike any other animal, the way they care for each other so much and their family structure. Fascinating documentary and i hope Sabbah government make that natural forest border by the river even wider & larger so that these elephants can all live happily & safely in future 🐘💙
What a great story and Program! A great Salute to each and everyone who worked hard to bring these amazing Beast's life to us. I hope there will be many more like you all around the world to help our planet and the wonderful creatures our nature provided us!. Thank you
Thanks to Bert's dedication these elephants now have a future . Let's hope the palm plantation owners support him in his efforts and with co-operation they can coexist with the elephants who are needed for the health of the forest and the environment . These beautiful creatures were there before the plantations and they are deserving of life .
