As a Boro fan in the south stand next to the Chelsea fans I think they got the riverside confused with the local library… Only heard them make a bit of noise at the start of the match
@@Benbeckmann3739 No I was stationed in England in the mid 70's. Going to a football match was a pretty cool outing. RAF Alconbury, was the name of the base, long ago and far away.
Palmer had a rough day! How did Chelsea not score? It wasn't just Palmer's 3 or 4. On the other hand, Boro looked right on it. Great defending and a first class goal. Not many eye-opening shocks in the FA Cup 3rd round, but this counts as one in the League Cup (old school).
@@takooishi Yes. I should have added that. My bad. I was just thinking how straightforward the 3rd round of the FA Cup had been during the same period. No real surprises, so this added some spice.
Not a boro fan myself but as a football lover I always love the magic of an underdog. Well played boro, well drilled, well organised, bodies on the line working hard as a unit. Big performance well done and congrats to all boro fans must be really proud right now.
@@msaidoo630 Chelsea n their billions can create as many chances n dominate ball all they like, ultimately its end result what counts boro won round 1.
What beat Chelsea was the fact they couldn’t finish set pieces not fast enough or long ball. Middlesbourgh stuck to the formation so well. Deserved win 👏🏻
He is young player bro ...and on top of that when you had a game like his today on that field ...it's pretty hard to not beat yourself up for all the chances he missed that would have won his team the game ....
As a Man U fan I'm happy for our legend Michael Carrick and Boro well deserved. Hayden Hackney has got a bright future ahead of him that's for sure, I'll not be surprised if a Premier League club comes in for him. but if he stays Middlesbrough could win the playoffs he's an amazing talent.
Chelsea spent so much money last summer , fighting with other clubs to get their ‘key’ players but left out the most important position . Palmer is not a 9 and when their main fullbacks injured , they don’t even hv another one that can send in crosses.Buying those players is not Poch’s fault
@@justanormalguy4816 his project is not dumb, he is actually a generous one but we did not see it. The project is not about Chelsea but about giving to African players so they can get rich and help their community.
Fair play to Poch, he doesn’t want the 2nd leg at Stamford Bridge to be a forgone conclusion, so he lets Boro take a one goal advantage to make it exciting for Chelsea fans in the return leg 😂
People are acting as if they missed the previous game with Villa in which Borough played incredibly well and committed all over the field. Villa won late by a severe deflection, otherwise I could see Borough eeking out a win or at least a replay. Here Chelsea have another leg at the Bridge, the pressure is surely on for them regarding this but they were flat and felt like they could get it done in the following leg. It is not a particularly merit worthy approach, maybe it is the deep immaturity at the base of the Chelsea team but people are acting as if they got pumped for 2/3 goals here, when it was a great bit a play for them.
As a Chelsea fan I wasn’t too surprised but I’m confident for the second leg we just couldn’t take out chances and Cole Palmer how do u miss that :/ (Still cold Palmer 🥶 🔥
How the heck Palmer missed all of his chances? He could've scored a hattrick if he were more clinical 🤯 Congrats to Middlesbrough btw. Good luck in the 2nd leg 👏
Quite funny to watch the expensive premier league players' physical strengths are weaker than the Championship players! Another lesson to learn is if you are not as skilful as them, play simple football. I cannot understand many weaker premier teams are playing like Manchester City, they build up the attack at the back and concede goals as a result!
