People forget that Borodin composed as a hobby, a diversion from his professions as a scientist and professor. He was, in fact, one of the most important chemists of the nineteenth century.
Zachary You I hadn’t thought of that. Didn’t Rimsky-Korsakov compose as a hobby also? Wasn’t he a full time military officer? That would be a second loss for music. Love his orchestrations.

What a fantastic interpretation of Polovtsian dances of Borodin!!! I am over themoon and I have been a huge fan of Borodin since was 12; I am now 79! Mr. Noak arranged and plays this beautifully! He is now among my top Pianists. You can not fake this, he is a pure genius!

Maestro Noack's blend of virtuosic accurate technique and flawless musical flow in his transcriptions reminds me of Horowitz or Rubenstein at their best. He is arguably the best pianist of his generation.
Spectacular! A brilliant orchestra played with tremendous verve, sensitivity, color by two hands. This is an amazing tribute to Alexander Borodin. A great artist you are, sir!
There is some sort of magic in a piano transcription of this type of piece if it is played well. Sort of a transparency that allows every note to be heard without being covered up by the rest of an orchestra. I am not one to use the word 'perfect' in describing a performance, but Maestro Noack has earned it here.

You are the only person that i have ever heard perform the Polovetsian Dances solo and still impart the robustness of a full orchestra. Bravo sir........bravo!

Exquisite! I wish Mr. Noack would make a Concert arrangement of Tchaikovsky's 'Valse Sentimentale'. Thank you for this breathtaking transcription of Borodin's masterpiece..Sony needs to give Florian a recording contract since I am certain CD's of his magnificent transcriptions would become sought after collectors items.
there actually could be some skilled amateur pianists tht could pull this piece off....BUT COULD THEY DO IT IN THIS MANNER, WITH SUCH FLUENCY, POISE POWER AND PIN POINT ACCURACY, I THINK NOT!
