The disqualification yes the stripping of his Shinobi rank no, in the past people who cheated and DQ where not often stripped of their Shinobi rank and Naruto himself was in the procesz of cheating and would have been DQ if not for Kabuto stopping him. Naruto is very very focused on the whole Ninja way thing as its his personal Credo and thus he took this cheating much worse than others would but it was also very harsh on his part considering his own past and actions.

Had Naruto altered his scroll in the Forest of Death, yeah they would've been disqualified and he, very likely, would've ended up like Boruto - but he was stopped, big difference. Boruto cheated, Naruto was prevented from cheating. Secondly, Boruto cheated in a part of the exam that was more egregious; he cheated, using a foreign tool, in 1-on-1 combat, in full-view of the public AND the other Kage. Part of being a shinobi is you have to represent your village well, Boruto disgraced the Leaf, and publicly embarassed the Hokage - Naruto had to strip him of his status as a shinobi, and he had to do it publicly for transparency, to demomstrate that he was not favoring his son/village. And, yeah, with Naruto's own ninja way of working hard and not taking shortcuts, I'm sure he was extremely disappointed Boruto would do something like that in front of the other Kage and the crowd.

@@BajaBCat It does not matter when you cheat the intent is the same, people treat Naruto as if he was a saint who would never cheat, he was more than willing to and wothout Kabuto he would have done it knowing full well he was doing it. I also fail to see how the tool is any more a cheat than a tailed beats that makes you practically immortal to the point you can recover from having every single chakra point shut down (a instant Deatn/KO for anyone) I just find the fandoms judgement and Narutos own atitude as Hyporcritical considering his 'hard work' was a fraction of Neji and lees and mostly boiled down to having a nuke inside and near infinite chakra and healing because of said Nuke. Stripping him was far from necesary, this was a choice he made and the final nail in the coffin to show that for Naruto Hokage > Family at this point.

Naruto did too. If you recall in the Original chunin exams, Naruto tried to cheat by altering the scrolls in the forest of death. Only difference is someone stopped him instead of exposing his ass in front of the 5 kage and the whole village as a cheater. Yet he does exactly that to his son, and Sasuke didn’t even stop Boruto when he know what was going on

When everyone else and their mom and sister and brother works their arse off to develop their skills and strategize for the tournament through hard work and dedication, Boruto blinded himself with the need to punch WAAAYYY above his weight class to prove he was at least somewhat capable to his Dad? Pfft. He was already having the potential. He needed to WORK honestly to prepare for the exam, not cheat. Look at Shikadai for example. Shikadai worked very hard to come up with a way to beat his opponents in the matches, including Boruto. And what does Boruto do, when backed into a corner and effectively beaten? Yup. Cheat.

He actually can use purple lightning later on. In one of the novels Sasuke himself confirm that. Everything Boruto cheated to do are things he can now naturally do.

And he's Sasuke's pupil so great things are expected from him. I’m still confused why people act like ninjas are supposed to be honorable people. The whole profession is based on killing in the most unseen and least resistant way without your opponent knowing or having a chance to react. Boruto out here being the most ninja character so far.

@@jarvisfowlkes3200 There's a difference between not HAVING a choice (being a Jinchuriki) and chasing a dangerous method to obtain the power to get stronger. In both cases, neither Naruto nor Sasuke wilfully chased after their situations - they were forced into it. Naruto being a Jinchuriki since before he could even string a single word together, and Sasuke, shaded by his hatred and vengeance towards Itachi, was manipulated by Orochimaru. Don't even TRY to equalize that with what Boruto did - Boruto had a choice, he could have thought about it and walked away from it. He didn't.

@@NomieKurta Being a parent doesn't mean Naruto should let Boruto get away with cheating in the most important event in a Shinobi's life. Not only being the first person to cheat in said event, but also using something Naruto said right in front of him not to use.

Boruto disgraced what it means to be a ninja which is not having respect for his opponents and decietfully defeated them unfairly while not using any of his own power. Not once did he think about how his friends would feel, I wonder how people would have felt if Boruto would have used the tool against Sarada if it was just the two of them standing. Shikadai most definitely didn't deserve what happened and was cheated out of his true victory.

@@BriSand1993 it's funny tho. Everything Boruto cheated are things he can naturally do now. Proves the potential was always there. If he wasn't so hooked on getting his dad's attention and instead focused on his training he would have one the exams. Plus this was the point if his character where he was a brat who didn't care about being a ninja. Future Boruto acknowledged this. The irony that this moment that fans tend to bitch about Boruto's character is what lead to some of his biggest and best character development in the franchise. It's what made him become one of the best Shinobi of his generation

Except for one minor detail - the Puppet Master Jutsu STILL uses your own chakra and power to activate and keep up. It takes a disgustingly high amount of skill, dexterity, alertness, concentration, and whatnot to maintain a good hold of the Puppet Technique. There are precedence to this. Kankuro. Chiyo Of The Sand. And others too. Using a basic tool, or one that is powered by your own Chakra is fine. But using a blanket cheat that uses stored Chakra and techniques of OTHER ninja as microscrolls to activate and use with ease? No. That's a damn new low anyone can get to. It is not a good thing to have around. That kind of thing is a recipe for terrorism and disaster if it falls in the wrong hands. On top of all the other problems the 5 Kage have to prevent and solve, this shouldn't be another huge one. Nope. Sorry.

@@yanamandram123 Yeah because the thousands of normie ninjas in the 4th great ninja war wouldn’t benefit from such a tool when encountering a threat like Madara or the Ootsukis. That being said, having access to a free Chidori doesn’t mean anything if you lack the skill to make use of it. If you gave a random office worker a handgun and has him go against a trained marksman with the same gun do you think their aim is equalized because they have the same equipment? Having the scientific ninja tool still requires a varying level of skill to use effectively. Eitherway this still doesn’t change my point about them being ninjas and not some kind of honor bound warriors.

@@leolionclaw The problem is that while this scientific tool is generic and usable by any ninja, including the "normies" that fought in the war (as you called them. They were still using their own chakra and weaponry to fight, and truth be told were a lot more skilled than we realize) it's equally as easily usable by those that want to cause trouble and spread terrorism. Not to mention the fact that in the Narutoverse, this would make the hard work and training of Shinobis look laughable. The point is that their world places importance on cultivating one's own abilities to do things. Just like ours does, but to a larger degree, I suppose. Shortcuts like this in their world are frowned upon. That combined with the security risk something like this can bring? You can surely understand why Naruto, the Seventh Hokage, banned its production and use. Sure, they're supposedly ninjas, and not some bunch of honor-bound warriors, but frankly there is more implicit honor placed in the job by Naruto's generation now than there was before him. Times are like that.

Not really, a good father would have done the same as the hokage, expose the cheating and get on with the consequences. If naruto doesn't expose Boruto now, that would just lead Boruto to believe it's the right ways to cheat and take every shortcut in the future. In school, at an exam, the cheater also gets exposed and removed from class.
