Just to say what a nice review. Eloquent (what a nice word) and gives me all the information I need to help make the decision between this and it's big brother AXT 25 TC. Just what I needed. Mike

I’ve had one for 12 months and for what it is which is, a small inexpensive shredder in reality with a good warranty. I have found it very good and never put single thin pieces in always bunched them up and run the strings through in bulk. It’s done some hard work over the last few months with no problems whatsoever.

Good review! I own one of these and my main complaint is the blade doesn't last too long and they are expensive to replace. When you sharpen them, they are never that good.

Thanks for the review and showing what the 'shredding' looks like and what it can cope with. I've been thinking of getting one of these as this model has generally good reviews. Now I've seen it doesn't really consistently shred I'll avoid this and go for something more powerful.

Thanks for this video. I have just bought one of these & found some of the reviews to be mixed so I’m hoping I have the same experience as yourself. 👍

If you keep the blades sharp these are perfect for a small garden. They work a lot better if you enlarge the opening at the top by cutting away some of the black things on the right hand side. Otherwise it's a pain to feed things through the tiny gaps

Same here......ending up giving it away for free. Yes, I used to sharpen the blades and maintain it. Just clog clog clog.

Also, everyone presenting these shredders is showing some tiny branches. Show us the "up to 3cm" branch! Nah, cos it can't process it.

The impact shredders which have X2 small knives are better at cutting I like that type more .Impact shredders are for green material not thick wood realist 25MM thick branches is best

A bit late finding your review, could you answer a question for me ? does this shredder deal with fruit tree pruning debris ? I do not have any thick woody waste but 4 fruit trees which seem to put out very long thin branches, Before making a purchase I was looking for something suitable for that type of branches.
@MrGardener18
@MrGardener18 3 года назад
I know the long stem you mean and the shredded will handle it fine. Just be patient with it and don't try and over feed the machine or it will clog.

Hiya, Mr G... Nice video, great pace and very relaxed approach... Would this AXT2200 be ideal for shredding/mulching leaves? I'd really like something small that I could feed leaves into, and it could turn them to dust for compost or just fit them all into our wheelie bin... Some weeks I could fill up 6 or 7 wheelie bins, but we only have 1, and the council empty it every 2 weeks, so it could take 2 to 3 months to get rid of all the leaves. Thanks mate Rich
@MrGardener18
@MrGardener18 Год назад
it will do leave but the opening is quite small so can easily get clogged by leaves. i find the best thing for leaves is the lawn mower.
@RichardWraith
@RichardWraith Год назад
@@MrGardener18 Thanks. Yeah our lawn is soaked, and has been for weeks now. The mower would just end up a mess. Might have to stick to raking and bagging then.

Good review. As a gardener who uses chippers quite a lot i think this little shredder would be far too time consuming for me, that size of cuttings could be mulched with a mulching blade on the brushcutter or Mulching mower in seconds. Petrol chipper is for thin or thick cuttings\ branches where as the electric shredder is only for occasional domestic gardens. Thorough review though⭐⭐⭐⭐
@MrGardener18
@MrGardener18 4 года назад
there are certainly quicker ways to shredde material but for domestic uses this is perfect.

Have you tried shredding green or broze leaves or other green waste like flowers or vegetables stems?
@MrGardener18
@MrGardener18 10 месяцев назад
the greener it is the worst it performs. like all of these small shredders they struggle to deal with green leafy materials. if it has a stem then it can do it but just greens and leaves on its own it will struggle to do it well.

Hi, I just got the same shredder today! Was super excited to start using it. But it didn’t come with a cable 😥 I was hoping you could help tell me what kind of cable it needs? Thank you!
@MrGardener18
@MrGardener18 3 года назад
I'd be contacting the supplier to get and new one. The wire is standard with the normal house hold 3pin plug and should be wired in to the machine.

yes the metal legs and wheels can all be taken apart for better storage. its very easy to do just a couple of screws.

Do you have to change the blades often? CAN they be sharpened manually
@MrGardener18
@MrGardener18 3 года назад
I've had the shredder now for quite a while and I have turn and sharpen the blades already. I would say the baldes last about 3 month before they need turning or sharpening but it really doses depend on the materials you trying to shred and how often you use it. the best advise i can give is just keep cheacking the blades and sharpen when needed. to sharpen them manually just clamp the blade and uses a metal file to sharpen blades.

I don't have any person experience shredding Bougainville but I sure it will be fine. the long stem should shred up a treat as long as you keep the blade Sharp.

@drmick3423
@drmick3423 Год назад
I found this to be the most disappointing shredder, just an hour after using it “out of the box”. You show in your own shreddings, how it fails to cut across thinner branches, instead shredding them longitudinally, but you don’t mention this as a failing, especially as the product literature boasts about cutting branches up to 4.5cm diameter - do you think this is acceptable then? These longer “uncut” twigs then never fail to block the machine. I double-checked that we’re talking about the same product! I’m glad you’ve had a good experience with it, but I see there are quite a few folks who haven’t.
