I was ready to buy a new dishwasher. I had checked everything for days. I was about to give up and watched your video... There was a bad solder joint in the electronic board. You saved me a lot of money!! Thank you so much!

Holy sh*t, this actually worked! Thank you so much for posting this. Mine didn't show the obvious burn marks but it was exactly the same joint that failed. One bit of advice for those attempting this fix: When re-inserting the clamshell containing the PCB back into the door frame, it is possible to lock it into position lower than in should be, meaning the LCD and the buttons don't line up correctly. And it's damn hard to get it back out if you do this, so get it right - inserted at the very top of the available space in the frame - the first time.

I was having the same problem even though my Bosch is older than yours, I think. When I got the box out and opened it up, I saw the same solder point darkened. I soldered it, put everything together, ran a cycle, and FIXED! Thanks so much for posting your video! I was looking at new Bosch dishwashers and they start at around $650 and go up more than $2,000, and they probably won't last as long as this one will now.

My Bosch has the hidden buttons at the top of the panel. Removed the front panel and accessed the control board and found the EXACT same bad/dead solder joint. Your video was most helpful as the internals are very similar to my unit. Took me just under 2 hours as I spent some time repairing the top plastic panel end clip and cleaning the SS panel to like new condition. Very straight forward repair. Many thanks for your time.

Exactly my problem too. Thanks so much. As a retired electrical engineer, it seems to me that the printed circuit board design is bad, allowing the board to heat up and melt the solder connection. I added an extra wire to beef-up the connection, so it won't happen again. Simply re-soldering may just make it happen again in another year or two.

Thank you so much for posting this. My Bosch was doing the same thing by running down to the 1 minute mark but not completing the cycle. It was not rinsing or heating the water anymore either. Took out the main control board unit as you showed, and saw the exact same thing on the circuit board where one solder point was dark. Re soldered it and put everything back together and presto..... works like new. You just saved me $235 for a new control board and just in time to get it working just before our big Thanksgiving dinner. Cudoos to you!!

Thank you, was frustrated and came across your video. I have different model and had exact same thing. Worked perfectly. Am I the only one bothered by how Bosch allows this on so many different models? Isn't it about time they address and fix the issue?

Thank you so much! I have a different model, but it was the exact same problem. And they no longer make the control board, so I was ready to purchase a new dishwasher if i couldn't repair this. I took the dishwasher apart, and control board had the same issue. I resoldered the one bad pin and now dishwasher works again.

Thanks pretty helpful . Apparently it's the heater relay overheating . I also drilled a hole in the case where the relay is to dissipate the heat t'ya bit . The cost of the Board is 2/3 the cost of a new dishwasher . The relay is around $2.00 although that model is not sold in North America

I wish I had followed this video tutorial before tackling my dishwasher yesterday... I was an idiot and removed the door frame completely from the hinges. I nearly damaged the bottom door seal part trying to force the door back onto the springed door hinges which were *very* hard to pull down by hand lol

It would have been nice if you would have addressed the following operation in depth. Was it a matter of a cold solder in the manufacturing or a failed circuit board? (In which case I can't imagine a successful repair.) How did you arrive at diagnosing this as the problem?

Hello, we have the exact same problem but the board looks fine. Thinking it might be the relay?

These where on a recall when launched for this exact reason. Solder joint burning under heater relay. Some caught fire hence the recall.

So I have the exact same model dishwasher that was stuck at 1 minute remaining, and I did this exact same repair, and a test Quick Cycle completed and stopped after its 35 minute cycle. The big question is whether this re-soldering of the joint will actually hold. If the original solder melted, why wouldn't the new solder do the same? Average melting point of solder is around 190C, and my 60/40 solder will surely have a similar melting point. I suppose we will see whether A) The dishwasher catches fire, B) The same joint melts and original problem is back, or C) The solder holds and lasts until some other major mechanical component dies...

Knock on wood it's been okay since. The dishwasher was a 2008 if that gives you an idea how long it takes for this to happen. Though if it happens again I'll order a new circuit board and and thermal sensor

Our one set of GE appliances are still going and they are about 12 years old now. The Bosch set are about 8 years old and a problem or two has happened so I can say we did spend a lot more for the Bosch that is for sure. So I do wonder if it’s worth paying the extra for them. I did ask a question for you on your carpet cleaning job. If possible can you let me know what you found out? Great video.

You can just raise the volume..... And the repair of solder is as he said - resolder the joint. That's it. You need a soldering iron, rosin flux, and solder for this job. Should be self-explanatory.
