Great information thank you for taking the time to make these videos. Bought my first truck a few months ago and got the OTR with the Detroit package. Had it 2 weeks and truck shut off with def level flashing. Traced it using OTR to a blown fuse on firewall and then to a chaffed wire on the back of the one box rubbing off the protective metal cover. We had got a lot of rain the night before and the water caused an arc and the fuse popped for the after treatment module. Fixed it myself so I believe the OTR paid for itself just that one time as if I had to tow to a dealer it would have set me back $700 plus . Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thanks for sharing your experience, I do believe OTR is a good tool for owner operators. Just as you said one breakdown can save the cost of one year subscription.
This is God sent...!! I was just looking into this things today and definitely I wasn't sure which one to buy.You just pointed me in the right direction. I got a 2014 paccar. So I know which to go for.Thank you very very much.
Bosch not look bad but a recommend scaner Cando i have before DD15 and now i have Cummins isx15 and both i can force regents read code and more and can force regents any engine and clear code i have for 5 years cost like 300 i think …..good video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great video Ryan! I was wondering if you could tell me the main difference between the Bosch HDS 250 and the Nexlink NL 102PLUS? The Nexlink also deletes certain codes and does forced regen and it costs approx $160 to $180.
I was thinking of getting the otr but after a few years you will pass the cost of the pdi an also don’t have to be worried of being out of cell service
I been Driving my maxforce 13 in my 2014 Prostar for almost a year and half without doing a forced regen. As far as I know the only thing I can get to do a force regen on this is Diamond Logic builder 3 and NEDs 3 with a Nexiq system to hook up. Not sure if that is right, what do you know ?
I have a 2011 Pete 389 log truck with the ISX15. After watching your reviews and tutorials, I just bought the Bosch HDS250 scan tool to carry with me in the woods just in case. Today, I hooked it up to check my truck and it won’t connect to my truck. Any suggestions?
Hello! After watching this video, I have a question about my truck. It’s a 2013 Peterbilt 384 that I purchased a year ago. It’s been in the shop since I purchased it. The dealership didn’t disclose a lot of issues that I found after taking it home. The main issue is the lights will shut off when I press the brake pedal when bobtailing and a code will flash and an alarm will sound. If I cut it off, lights may reset and work fine or they might not. Please help! Someone said the computer may need to be flashed or updated, but it’s been deleted so I can’t take it to the dealer…any help would be greatly appreciated. Good day!
The last otr diagnostic tool that I had sucked though it stopped working and wouldn't connect to the Bluetooth anymore and it wasn't my signal it stopped working for good and I had to trade it for a reset tool.
Great video... I have a 2016 Coronado Cummins ISX15.. was looking at that OTR reset tool , seems simple plug n play. Does this do all the Regens( Def, EGR,etc) ? Code info one can easily get them off dash n look up on Google.
Do you prefer the pdi big boss or otr performance? Looking to order one on Monday but not sure which to get in a o/o with 1 truck kenworth with x15 efficiency. Thank you
Ryan, I'm buying a 2011 Peterbilt 386. What do I need to read codes before purchase. I don't think I will need anything other than to read codes. Thanks
@@truckingandfixing Cummins X15e. 2021 Pete. Been about 10k miles since Cummins NW did a regen. After watching your interview on OTR, my def usage has gone up and my fuel mileage is dropping a bit.
If you just want a simple Diagnostic tool, I think the bosch tool should work for you. Please check with OTR performance and the big boss PDI tuner to see if they compatible with your truck.
@@truckingandfixing yea we do pretty much all brands from heavy duty to medium duty as long as it has good fault code guidance thats what we are looking for these after treatment codes are sometimes hard to chase
Make sure to use the promo code listed in the description to get $100 off. Unfortunately, I have only used these three before, I couldn’t recommend the cheaper alternative. I have been recommending OTR for every person who comes to our shop. I truly think it is like an insurance policy you purchase for the business. The forced DPF regen and live data alone can help you to get out of many bad situations as long as you learn a little about the basics of the truck. Good luck!
