Matt, if anyone knows the in’s & out’s of table saws it’s you I cannot criticize your table saw journey. My quest for a table saw led me to your video of your first Bosch saw and I’ve watch you ever since. IMHO I think this is one of the best if not the best job site table saw available. The fact that they have a standard miter slot and brushless motor is a big improvement. For your shop and work flow this saw fits perfectly. Thanks for taking me on this journey!

The features look impressive to me Matt. I also like the way it's easily repositionable to cut larger components in a small workshop. Tony

That saw looks a lot like the Evolution rage 5, but better. That said, I still have mine, it lives in my van. The Bosch looks good, I like the adjustable riving knife, and there are several details that many manufacturers could take note of. I always feel that with something as inherently dangerous as a bench saw it should be a race to the top rather than the bottom.

Great review and the saw doesn’t seem too expensive either. Although it doesn’t come with a battery so that’s probably why.

Awesome video… I bought this exact saw a couple of months ago. I would love to see a video on adjusting the blade, fence and even the table surface to make sure it’s all perfectly square, level etc. thanks.

Well said on safety equipment, there's too many bits of kit out there that require a full strip down to attatch [awkwardly designed] safety features. Safety should be a much better thought out prerequisite but not make the tool prohibitively expensive.

currently now bosch 18v batteries are on sale at least here on our place the Philippines. those 12.0ah batteries can be bought for as low as US$100 brand new. if only im on the bosch platform it would be a steal price. but i’m on the makita xgt line those xgt batteries are what i would call expensive. $300 for their largest ones.

Lovely review, I have some experience with the Milwaukee cordless one which you had for a short time. How does this compare, is it just a matter of battery compatibility or is there something else? I am a Bosch man but still don't think a cordless saw is necessary for my setup.

Is the fence always 90 degrees / parallel to the blade? Some designs uses a rail in both sides (Dewalt does this) which keeps the fence perfectly aligned.

Looks really well designed Matt. Main draw back would be price of 12amp battery. In fairness perfect for your set up. I am condemning a new saw. It will be a toss up between Bosch and DeWalt for me

I just use 8Ah batteries,they arn't to cumbersome to be used on my other tools like circular saw,planer, unlike the 12Ah battery

Excellent Review, Matt. Given energy prices at the moment, I wonder how the cost and run-time of charging a 12ah battery compares with the equivalent run-time / cost of the 240V bosch table saw ?
@Badgerworkshop
@Badgerworkshop Год назад
Well I have been charging mine up using solar so even cheaper
@mobilephoneman69
@mobilephoneman69 Год назад
Feel how warm the battery gets when charging and after heavy discharging. Expect to lose 5-10% each way. So what? A 12ah 18V battery = 216Wh. The losses at very wost would be 43Wh or 0.043kWh, about 2p per complete discharge / recharge cycle which in turn costs less than 10p. If you can afford a £500+ saw, you don't need to worry about each recharge costing you 2p in losses. If you're a contractor, stick it on the bill (unless you're charging up on the customer's leccy of course...).

5:14 I have that excat saw, and I totally agree Matt! Those tiny miter slots are a real nuisance! Dust extration could be better too. As for how loud it is: Can't compare it, since this is my first and only table saw 😄 Still a bit hesitant about cordless tools - the batteries are expensive and I'm afraid of the added cost of having to buy new ones in a year or two? Any thought on the 'tool life' of these big batteries?

Hi Matt, I just bought this saw, love it, did you have to add anything to free up the movement of the fence to get it to run easy mines very stiff....not the extension that's full of lovely grease, just the fence action seems a little sticky....

Man. Thanks for putting this up. I am thinking about getting such a thing in the next 1-2 years, depending on how things will work out in my small workshop im planning to build. Nonetheless - no real power supply except a LIPO battery with 2 PV panels which provide all my Bosch- 18v Gear with juice. I think this will work out pretty well. Do you still use it ? Thanks. Cheers, Steve

Nice review Matt. Do I understand right that you ended up not liking the axminster you had to sell, or was it OK? Your tent workshop is looking very nice, btw. I'm thinking of copying the setup vs buying a prefab building, so I'm following your journey with interest. I really liked the garden room you made as well. That's before we even get started on table saws...🤯

Hi Matt, Very nice indeed. BOSCH = POSH !! Don't laugh but I, the poor old pensioner !!) scored an Ozito (sold under many names worldwide) bench saw of a design similar to your Bosch (but not as good as yours and not anywhere near accurate - will work on that) for $80.00 some time ago (40 quid ?? in UK ??) I could not afford any better at the time or now but will cobble something together with bits I am hunting for to improve. Is your saw the one with the safety mechanism like the SawStop brand ? Looks good and if it is what is required great. Onya Matt !!

Really useful and well timed video👍 as I'm looking to probably buy this model shortly. just wondering how you think this model may run on an 8A rather than 12A battery? ( as I see you quickly ran it on a low A battery ) I'm only planning to use this in my shed for very small projects/ crafts , maybe an occasional chopping board, or a few strips of glued timber to make a chessboard. I certainly wouldn't be planning on running it for more than a few minutes, or putting tons of sheet goods are hard wood through it. Only asking as I nearly cried when seeing the cost of the 12A battery * and charger which I'd need too. No probs if you can't answer, but thought I'd throw the comment out there in case other viewers have any thoughts too. Cheers Matt. 👍

I have the same saw, & use it with the 8Ah batteries without any issues. Never bother with 12Ah batteries, just too cumbersome to use in other tools unlike the 8ah batteries. Bosch recommend for maximum power use ProCORE18V ≥ 5.5 Ah minimum. Also I changed the mitre fence, looked at the INCRA MITER V27, but settled on a UJK Precision Mitre Gauge Fence from Axminster, better accuracy & I like the flip over length stop, plus the long fence rail..
