The big benefit of Bosch Rexroth's hydrostatic transmissions with Hägglunds CBP transmissions compared with a mechanical solution is that we can split the transmission physically. Hägglunds CBP low speed units are submersible and can be mounted directly on the turbine without any special arrangements. The electric generator and the hydraulic high-speed unit can be housed in a suitable manner to protect them from the environment and make them accessible for maintenance.
