In this video i show the Bosch WGG04409GB 9Kg Washing machine, I run through some of the features and benefits it offers and what the programs do too. For a great buy visit here: www.lords-electrical.co.uk/wa...
I have the previous version of this machine. It is very good. I find the mixed load programme will was a reasonable sized load in an hr to a great standard. It is quiet when operating and the pump is quiet. All in all a good machine ❤. Thanks for the video.
A useful review of this machine with some handy tips (re: 5 Year Warranty) As a result, I just bought one to replace my old Bosch washing that has lasted 15 years.
@@mysticpizza02 I use liquid detergent, so it’s not really a problem for me, but it’s recommended that you leave the drawer and door open to let it dry after use, which I do. I think that’s fairly common, my previous Hotpoint had the same recommendation.
Just purchased this same washing machine today, was looking at pdf manual which i didn't like, thought i'd take a look on YT and found your very beneficial tutorial. Good job!
@@guineagirl5078 I just bought a 8kg version 28250 I'm no expert and as I had a Bosch before I just only really looked at the same make in a local shop. I think as you get a Free 5 year warranty if bought before the end of March and registered within 28 days, not that I'd wait that long myself to register. Seems to me like Bosch must have faith in their machines 👍 Maybe other makes do this I don't know ??
I would like to add about regarding the drum clean. If you do wash a lot at a low temperature then eventually the washing machine will flash a drum looking icon which is indicating that you need to a drum clean as it heats the water at a high temperature.
thanks for this video :-) I've taken delivery of my new series 6 washing machine today and so far ..... I love it !! Your video has saved me having to read through the user guide which suits me and you've also explained the functions very well so I feel I can confidently operate my machine to get optimum performance. Thanks again :-) Karen Bourke Aus.
Great film. Thank you very, very much. Last week I bought exactly the same model, waiting for delivery. After watching your video, the washing machine secrets are revealed. Now I know how to pick the best programme, what info is given on display, for what is the little blue flap if you use washing liquid (new for me, I mean a flap, not washing liquid :D ) and how to become a millonaire by emptying a filter :). To be honest, there are 2 things more I haven't encountered yet: a very useful small pipe for emptying water from the drum and a button for emergency opening of the door (next to the filter). You did a fantastic job, thanks again.
I like the fact each programme tells you the maximum load. I've found in the energy group I'm on that many people are using the shorter programmes but putting the full 9kg in. They say they are happy with the results but it makes no sense to me. Personally I've moved to washing most of my loads on cold with dedicated cold wash detergent This is what many people around the world already do. Using a cost meter I've found that my full 9kg cottons programme of 1:29 reduces to 1:15 with no heat and costs around 2p which is brilliant. Ive been using 99% cold wash now for over a year and it's saved me a fortune in my electricity bill whilst I've been very happy with results- I've actually found that a cold wash removes stains a hot wash will not and is quicker and less harsh on clothes towels and bedding.
this is good to know. I just got my new machine and was wondering about this. I've previously had a top loader and have been washing in cold water for probs about 20 years. I only washed with hot water when my son was a baby for his nappies etc. I'll try the cold water option
Just taken delivery of this exact machine. Love it, so quiet and the display is great. Had a bosch before and was very happy with it. I tend to use mix load but would like to know if the eco 40-60 is a better program ? And can you damage a machine by overloading ? I do tend to get as much in as I can. Thanks. Great video.
To an extent you can damage the machine but you will also find that the washing performance won't be as good if its too full. Ideally a machine should be 2/3rds full
Hi and many thanks for this wonderful explanatory video. We are wondering whether our new Serie 6 (as in the video) has been delivered without a bottom panel erroneously. Would you be able to check the bottom of your machine in this video and let me know whether this is an error, or whether its meant to come with the bottom of the machine “exposed” and no panel covering the bottom? Thanks!
Hi I have watched some of your videos it was very helpful 👍 Could you please upload a video about how to install a GRUNDIG (GTN38250MGCW) AdvancedHeatPump dryer please? Thanks in advance 🙏
Really helpful videos when researching what new machine to buy, thank you! Wondering what the difference is between the Bosch 4 and 6 Series 9kg 1400 spin? Only thing I can see is that the 4 has a pre-wash and the 6 has substituted this for a duvet wash? I have also always been a powder fan but lots of people moving away from this - other than the drawer getting constantly gunked up (which never used to be a problem with a previous hot water feed) is there a reason why? Which is better, capsules or liquid? I think that I understand that capsules go directly in the drum and liquid in the drawer still?
We will always recommend liquid rather than the capsules as the pouch it comes in can get congealed at the back of the soap drawer especially if you are washing at lower temperatures.
Good video. 👍 Can you connect a hot water supply to the machine to reduce energy costs? Have solar heated water and have cold and hot supplies behind the machine!
They are not really designed to be connected to a hot water supply, especially as most people are washing at lower temperatures now and connecting a cold water supply will normally be preferable for the low temperatures.
Fantastic video, i have a few questions so the washing machine recommends how much you put in depending on the cycle what happens is you have it on a cycle that recommends “2kg” but you put more in say 6kgs will the washing machine still do the cycle or will it not cheers and happy new year!
If you put in 6kg into a 2kg load, it will wash but will take a lot longer than the time stated and the performance of the wash may not be as good too.
thanks for going through everything, very informative video. i have one question, do you have to weigh the clothes yourself, or does the machine tell you the weight of the clothes you’ve inserted. also if you put 3kg in a 2kg wash will it just not work or what happens?
It doesn't weigh the clothes, you have to make an educated guess what load you are putting in, so if you wanted to know more accurately you would need to weigh them yourself. If you put 3kg in a load that is designed for a 2kg wash then it will just take longer and the performance of the wash won't be as good.
hi Sir In my new series 4 8kg front load machine from bosch, after speed reduced cotton program ended, the machine beeped once not 3 times, and instead of typing end it showed 0:10 and unlocked the door. despite everything related to laundry was ok, i wonder why it behaved that way, any idea, please?
Wondering if you ever carry LG brand washer and dryers. I don’t think so cause you’ve not done any reviews on them. Where I live LG seems to be the most popular of the quality purchases. Bosch not available here as much. Was only curious.
Hello with this washer dryer is the steam function called something else. Is there the same function. Idsal yo wash technical clothes.and us it quiet which function is for technical clothes ir socks.told yo out on low spin.what for uou advise on washer dryer for socks and technical clothes
Hi. Great demonstration. I have this machine 9 months and find it an all round brilliant product. One question. Which program is most suitable to wash a duvet please? As it doesn't have a duvet setting. Thanks.
There are not many programs that you can put a full load in, so i would normally recommend using the Cotton program as you can wash a full load on that program.
Hi, an important question regarding measurement if I may - when you measure the height of the machine, do we need to include the feet being maximally loosened?
I am thinking about buying this washing machine. Curently have zanussi which has time reduction option on all programs. From this video it looks like you can change time slightly and not on all programmes?
Water inflows, and no matter how much soap i put or what setting, my wachine machine circulates without soapy water, and just looks like wet clothes spinning, does anyone have any idea what i can do?
It doesn't have a filter as such, but it would mainly be access at the bottom right of the machine where you can get any coins or lint out. Just make sure you do it while the machine is empty and not switched on as you will get soggy feet otherwise.
@@lords-electrical thank you for this tip. 🙂 I had the opportunity to use the delayed start function this morning and it worked perfectly. I can see this is going to be a favourite function of mine 🙂
Easy Iron will normally be a lower agitation spin at the end of the program to reduce the creases in the clothes and Steam iron assist adds an element of steam into the program to again help reduce the creases towards the end of the program and can be a lot more beneficial than just reducing the spin speed.
I’m a bachelor with first ever washing machine so don’t flame me! Just got this machine after apparently breaking my last one from overloading. How do you judge the weight of the clothes? Three pairs of trousers, socks jocks and a few shirts too much?
Always a difficult one to judge. I say always allow for space to put your had in sideways at the top of the drum for each load. This way you allow the clothes to move around in the wash which will improve the performance of the wash
Is there the facility to just spin wet clothes please, I am having a machine delivered in a couple of days and the delivery guys are fitting it for me but don’t think they will carry any accessories like for the water outlet hose to connect into a drain pipe, I don’t want to be stuck if they can’t do it. My present machine, which is a Siemens will I presume have a similar connection, it is nearly 15 years old, what should I do ?
These machines will have the drain pipe already attached and if you are having it installed, you should be fine. Especially if you have had a Siemens machine before. If you needed any pipes to be extended, if they are a decent company, then they should carry longer hoses on their van to complete the job for you.
Does this have time delay? I’m guessing it doesn’t. I’m going to use a smart timer plug to wash when it’s cheaper but not sure if this is good for the machine as I will have to start the wash and then turn off the plug.
@@lords-electrical I found out it has the “Finish in” function which allows you to plan when to finish the wash (effectively when to start id you do the maths) You set the function and load the machine n]and then press the fish in button to set how long in the future you want it to be washed.
Reliability is always a difficult one to comment on, but on the whole we find that Bosch and Siemens are both very good and reliable. This one you have commented on the WGG04409 is a great all round machine with being a quiet and reliable machine without being hugely expensive.
@@lords-electrical Thanks for the reply, appreciated. Mu mum always uses 90c wash, but i think its bit much and 60c would suffice. What's your opinion 90c vs 60c?
I am still a bit old-school and I like to wash my towels on a 90 degree wash. Washing at a high temperature also helps to clean and maintain the machine as well.
Just got this machine. When the machine is draining it makes a noise what I can only describe like a bubble , I am wondering if I have the drain pipe in too much.
Just got this delivered today. Instructions say that you need to use the drum clean before doing a wash. Now the drum doesn't empty the water and need to contact them. Not a great start
@@lords-electrical Thank you, problem has been resolved. There's a blue bit of plastic that comes with the waste pipe. They have come round again and realised it hasn't been removed hence the water wasn't getting pumped away.
John Lewis just bodge this in for me, left me with leaking pipes and I can't even get the door to open. It feels very flimsy I daren't pull it because if feels so cheap and nasty.
@@lords-electrical I should update on this, because John Lewis have been back out very quickly to look at the issue, and the problem potentially was my existing pipes under the sink, for which a small new part that I can get will alleviate. I have now done 3 loads and it seems to be a decent machine in terms of cleaning clothes which is all I wanted. It is quiet (not so quiet as my old LG - that thing was nearly silent), but this is quiet and a nice looking machine, only had it 5 days now, but it works well enough.
They are transit bolts and are designed to hold the drum steady whilst in transit. If they are not removed then they will damage the machine as the drum cannot move around freely as it should be intended.
Not that we stock, it would be great but at the moment there isn't a washer with a weight sensor. It is a great idea as a lot of customers don't really know what load it is they are putting in their machine.
