Don't if you know this or not but there is a tool for those e-clips. Jenson sells one by the part number 849-600. I find them very frustrating also when working with them, so you are not alone.
Did you ever make a 3D printer version of the elevator worm gear nut? I would love to buy some if they are available. I enjoy your videos. Very instructive and helpful. Jerry
Hi Lisa, you have become the Bose Whisperer --- LOL. Another nice repair. Everybody hates those e/c clips, they are a pain to work with. That tool that TBM suggested looks interesting, let us know how it works. Regards, Dave
I definitely will let you know how the new tool works out. I was able to find the one that decided to take off on me. Must been all those carrots we ate as kids to keep the eyes strong. LOL!! As for being the Bose Whisperer, you don't wanna know what I whisper to these units. I basically threaten them. 😁
Nice job on this repair! I do it a little differently in that I pull the whole cd mechanism and top plate out in order to have easier access to install the gear and line up the three worm gears. But, well done! Do you have a source for those broken gears besides stealing them out of a parts unit? I’m running out of them!
I have just repaired my unit, same problem as this, now all working great , I had to glue my part on to the Mech, As Bose seems to be a closed shop for spare parts, Can you tel me no were you got your part from because cant find any on line. Thanks
Hi, are you still here doing these repairs? Would you possibly sell me a few of those threaded plastic parts that break so often? I do enjoy your channel. Thanks!
