If you turn them around with the 8 speakers in front you won't believe your ears, such brightness and many never heard before stereophonic effects. Try it!
For this speakers back side should be flat wall because it is made for direct reflect, like this you loose 90% sound from direct reflect and only you are listing 10% from front.....
I just turned my 901s around…! For years, they have been reflecting the corners of my studio…! And I never really thought they sounded that good…! So Now the eight speakers face the front…🎶👍🏻 , they are setting on top of my Two 43” inch tall, Klipsch 2/12 One horn in the center towers.. I am using a 32 band EQ on my Bose 901’s to boost the highs and lows … 130w for each of the four speakers…. I finally like the way the system Sounds now….🙏🏻🎶👍🏻❤️
I have a pair of series IV and they have no bass or any highs. A sub and tweeters would be a nice add on. They sit in my basement, being unused but work perfectly. Bad investment. Glad they were used and cheap
Make sure you have the equalizer and tape monitor loop on the amp or receiver to properly hook it up. Tape monitor loops are nearly impossible to find on receivers today. If you have the equalizer, consider investing in a vintage receiver that will most certainly have one. It'll be well worth it. Try to find one with a minimum of 50 watts per side.
I have an old NAD receiver with the tape loop and a Crown amplifier that puts out 650 watts into 4 ohms. Plenty of power but no bass or treble. And sorry for the misprint but they are series VI.
@MarcBoltres i want to make sure that you do have the equalizer? The speakers will lack bass and treble without it. The equalizer is a must have integral part of the system. If you have the equalizer, is there a significant difference in sound between turning it off and on? If you don't, then the equalizer may be defective. Also take off the back side grill and make sure the speaker foam surrounds aren't rotted. Foam rot is extremely common.
Why is it there are so many of these BS videos… with all these FU’s that think people want to hear their speakers… very informative entertaining and useful…please post your entire library… just leave it on a radio station if you run out….you have the best 901’s ever…
That’s what I thought..just a demo..nice drum kit since you play drums what do you think of the sound of the 901s compared to the real thing in my setup of my 901s drums are powerful and dynamic ..also my walls are plaster not drywall so it reinforces the bass and reflections..drywall absorbs ...what type of walls do you have ?where do you live?thx..
Hello Jacob .are those the 901 concerto version they look like they have the piano black finish?also how’s the bass that high up? I know they should not be higher then 36 inches from the floor or ceiling or halfway between the floor and ceiling it cancels the bass response...I have series 6 also it does make a difference..
Yes, it is the concerto version. The location is very clear in the manual, but in this case I was only testing before finding the definitive location of the bass
