Sound usually travels in a straight line? My physics teacher was a liar! She said that sound usually bends around corners. On topic: Bose is just the best sound system for me. I mean, they create the best speakers and headsets that really perform well in depth, richness, and crisp sound.
People, this isn't a speaker system, it's a soundbar for you tv. You hook up all your devices to your tv like normal BUT one new line gets dragged from the tv to the soundbar itself thus connecting everything. Why would you need more than 1 hdmi in?
You don't need more than 2 AUX inputs, I have PS3, digital TV receiver and DVD player. My TV, which is HD with 4 HDMI inputs, also has a AUX digital output so all my sound goes from my TV directly to my BOSE speaker and the sound is amazing. So either your TV is outdated and you only have one HDMI hookup or you are not thinking this through because I don't think you use PS3, TiVO, Apple TV without your TV on. Maybe you should get with the program or educate yourself on hooking up sound systems.
@kkp662 The ADAPTiQ audio calibration system analyzes the dimensions of your room, along with other variables that affect sound. It then automatically adjusts the sound of the speaker system to match the acoustics of your room for the best possible audio experience. No system I have encountered works as well a Bose? ADAPTiQ even in a space with a ceiling as high as yours.
@gdgnj1 There is no recommended method for mounting this product directly to any television. There is a wall mounting option available - Bose - WB-135 Wall Mount Kit - B&H# BOWB135
paid 1500 for mine. got 9 years out of it but now the remote control stops working and we need to unplug and plug it back in. but then it only works for a short time before it freezes up again.
This BOSE system is really designed for movies and TV content. Music is not its forte. You will fare better with the Yamaha when listening to music with a wide dynamic range. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com. MarkS
Although there is always a possibility of interference, Bose has taken great pains with this product to ensure that there will be interference issues at all. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com. Mark S.
I just got this system. I wanted to upgrade it from my Yamaha YSP-2200 because I wanted something with more bass. I must say, the BOSE 1 SR was a disappointment. I love the clarity of the system. Works great for movies because the bass seems to be there for movies, but not for listening to music concert or music in general. Why is that? I crank up the bass module to the max and still no dice. I might just have to return it. So disappointed, and I was excited to get this system.
If your limited to a sound bar, this one is probably the best. Although Polk and Harmon kardon are just as loud. Dare I say the subwoofers on the three systems is almost identical. The bose does direct sound sideways which widens the sound field. But that's it. So it's either pay 1500 or get almost the same with half the price. For 1500, get a full surround. Amy surround sound will trump all sound bars.
I bought one of these wireless Bose CineMate systems. I absolutely LOVE it. Jeremy Lopez I am not sure how much bass you need but mine would put me right out of the room with NO distortion at all. The remote is the only thing I use for my DVD, TV, Satellite system. Sure its pricey but its guaranteed for life. What more do you want. Easy set up too.
+Iván Meneses BOSE does not offer any filters or tone controls that may be manually adjusted by the user. Bose features the ADAPTiQ audio calibration system which analyzes the dimensions of your room, along with other variables that affect sound. It then automatically adjusts the sound of the speaker system to match the acoustics of your room for the best possible audio experience. >Mark
+Iván Meneses - Adjusting the bass level: The bass control knob on the Acoustimass® module allows you to change the bass level output of the system. Turn the bass control knob right to increase the bass, left to decrease the bass. >Mark
Check all connections and have fresh batteries in the remote. Resetting your product: A reset can reboot your product or it can clear locally-stored product settings, such as paired device lists. Find out which option is available to reset your product. Reset your product by following these steps: Turn the product off Unplug the speaker array power cord from the power outlet Unplug the Acoustimass Module power cord from the power outlet Wait 30 seconds Reconnect the power cords. >Mark
@@BandH I already did this procedure, but it didn't work. How I update the firmware? There’s possibility? I try to download the software, but it’s outdated. I trying for the pendrive at acousticmass.
I'm having the same issue. Planned obsolescence? I hope not. Let me know if you figure out the solution to this issue. Sometimes the soundbar will act normal and then sometimes it freezes up, gives the green blinking light and occasionally a red blinking light. When it's working normally though it still sounds great!
Does this BOSE have a battery in it? If yes, where? My soundbar blinks red and google says change the battery. I changed the one in the remote, the red light on soundbar still blinks. I can't find a battery compartment on the soundbar or the sub. What am I missing?
Yea it's discontinued but I'd buy one right now. The wireless connection is supurb and I lived in a heavily frequency trafficked area and never once had a hiccup or degredation in sound quality in 2 years. Even second hand this is an excellent buy and for the price .. amazing.. I'll answer that for you since B&H finds themselves above it and above Actually taking the 2 seconds to answer and provide you specifics.. alot of things are discontinued.. does that mean all support and any kind of mention of said item is taboo or just plain hogwash and you won't waste the electronic ink on giving a real answer? I know the ink goes fast but... It's not discontinued so we'll be alright
This sound bar is over priced. Sure the sound is acceptable but the fact that I paid $1500 for a device that can not airplay, use bluetooth, usb, media card or most importantly... It can not play the sound of any device without the TV being on!! I have an apple tv that I play the radio, itunes or Pandora through but I can not play anything if I do not leave the TV on... even though the apple tv is plugged directly to the Bose sound bar. No sound without the TV on makes this an over priced unit!
Looks like a great solution, but it only has two (2) AUX inputs. That sucks! I have a TiVO HD, PS3, Apple TV and dedicated Blu-ray player connected to my existing sound system. Would love to have the cleaner look of a sound bar, but there aren't nearly enough inputs on this one to move me. Get with the program Bose!
Yes. Use this device: Aluratek ABCD54F Switchable Bluetooth Audio Transmitter and Receiver BH #ALABCD54F. >Mark< www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1501243-REG/aluratek_abcd54f_universal_bluetooth_optical_audio.html
the problem with bose always been about the amount of inputs you can hook up to there device..it's very clear that they don't want you to know that..or else they would give a proper in depth review showing the back of the device..convniently they don't...there's no excuse in today's technology to be limited to only one hdmi input..specially considering you are trying to sell to a consumer $1000 plus device.
Anyone has any idea how to switch the Bose sound bar to use the aux input? I have connect a different source to the aux optical input but I can't seem to switch to that source. Works if I hook it up to the main input. Thanks
The AUX digital audio connections do not take the place of the audio connections from a source to the TV. You will still need to ensure that all sources have both a video and an audio connection to your TV, and that the audio output of your TV is connected to the TV input on the CineMate system. While a source is playing, the CineMate system will continuously compare the AUX input audio stream with the input audio stream and automatically select the highest-quality audio stream available." Please refer to the set-up and switching instructions found at the link provided below. worldwide.bose.com/library/assets/pdf/guides/soundbars/cinemate_1sr/en/opg_en_cinemate_1sr.pdf >Mark
Thanks Mark for verifying. My configuration is slightly different. I have TV digital audio output to the main audio stream on the soundbar (via optical cable). This works fine when I'm watching TV etc. I want to also be able to connect another optical cable to the AUX (for music only -- this is not connected to the TV) when I'm not watch TV. It is just for streaming audio to the Soundbar (i.e. Apple's airport express via Airplay). This works fine if I connect the RCA cable (red and white cable) but not the optical cable. I would think that with the TV off -- I should be able to play music and the AUX input would kick in would it not? Hope this makes sense.
The wall bracket is the BOSE WB-135: Bose WB-135 Wall Mount Kit B&H # BOWB135WMK: bhpho.to/3bW67zU Designed for the Bose CineMate 130, 1 SR, and All Lifestyle 135 Systems. >Mark
The BOSE CineMate 1 SR and the BOSE Soundtouch 300 have both been discontinued Massi. The combination of the BOSE Soundtouch 300 and the BOSE Acoustimass 300 wireless bass module (also discontinued) would have been the superior choice. But the Bose® - CineMate® 1 SR Digital Home Theater Speaker System would be the far more economical choice if you could locate one. >Mark
I just received my Bose sound bar and I'm really excited to hear the difference from my last Sound bar from LG that return. There's nothing better than a good sound system complementing a big flatscreen.
Adjusting the bass level The bass control knob located on the rear of the Acoustimass module allows you to change the bass level output of the system. Turn the bass control knob clockwise to increase the bass, counter-clockwise to decrease the bass. >Mark
