Bose SoundLink Micro Bluetooth Speaker Review & Audio Test

It's pretty hard for a Bluetooth speaker to stand out from the crowd these days. They are available in every shape and size imaginable, but at the end of the day, audio quality still reigns supreme for the true standouts. Enter the Bose SoundLink Micro Bluetooth Speaker. A rugged, and waterproof speaker that sounds significantly larger than its diminutive size would suggest.
This is my review, including audio/music samples so that you can experience the sound quality for yourself.

Does it's size effectively give up sound volume and power?

Hi Guys, would you think that back-strap is strong enough to hold on a bike/electric scooter especially on the locking mechanism when it comes to a bit bumpy road or higher speed? Thanks for your support!
@DanaSciandra
@DanaSciandra 4 года назад
Good question, for which I have tested. The strap definitely holds securely to my bike's handlebar, but be careful if the bar is thick. If it's too thick, you can pop the "seams" on the backing a little, but standard handlebars are fine (I have a hybrid road/mountain bike). But it holds firmly, and bumps are no problem at all.

@@DanaSciandra Thanks Mate, so nice to have your reply. Ok I have options for thick and more narrow tubes as I have more extension poles attached. I will attach it with 'feels' so I want tear it apart forcing it, I was initially afraid of the 'clicking' part that you hook in, if it is a good material to hold or it can break off easily...
@DanaSciandra
@DanaSciandra 4 года назад
The clip is very strong, as is the rubber band, no worries there. It can stretch a good deal, but if you find yourself really having to force / stretch it, try to find a thinner area. I put mine near my gear switches. I had put it on the long body bar, and that's when I heard a "pop." Didn't break anything, or affect the speaker performance, but it did seem to stretch it a little too far. Thankfully waterproofing is still fine!

Have had my mini micro for some time now and use it all the time. It no longer will take a charge. Does it require battery replacement after time?
@DanaSciandra
@DanaSciandra 4 года назад
All rechargeable batteries degrade over time, but certainly not this soon! Have you reached out to Bose? Might also try looking up to see whether other people are experiencing the same thing.
@halfcrazyluv1
@halfcrazyluv1 4 года назад
I got mine since it came out and still holds a good charge till today.. The secret is do not use the speaker till the battery is out and don't keep it for long in full battery. Keep it at 40% if you are not using it for long periods of time. And if you are just to use it randomly just have it charge to 80%

Will this speaker sound better than the Anker SoundCore Boost?
@DanaSciandra
@DanaSciandra 6 лет назад
Hanu Man I don't have experience with that particular speaker, but I do have experience with Anker products, which is good. However, I feel confident saying that the Bose will perform better. They just have a stellar reputation for creating big sound in smaller devices.
@DanaSciandra

Hanu Man PS - I definitely recommend listening to the section where I sample the sound with headphones on. I was also not playing at full volume, probably 75 to 80%

How much hours you can reach with this Bluetooth speaker in 50% of volume? Because in the specifications said 6 hours but I think they can old on more hours than 6 hours.
@DanaSciandra
@DanaSciandra 5 лет назад
Correct, Bose rates the battery at 6 continuous hours. However, I usually go a couple of weeks in between charges because I listen to about 30-45 mins each morning at lower volume as I am getting ready, which barely dents the battery life as a result.
@emiel333
@emiel333 5 лет назад
I own a Bose Soundlink Micro and at 50% volume the battery lasts for approximately 14 hours. For the price, it's the best you can get. And you will be amazed how much bass this tiny speaker puts out. I measured the Micro with a calibrated decibel meter. At 3 feet and 100% volume it reaches 95 to 100 dB(C), and at 1 feet distance I measured a SPL of 104 dB(C) average with peaks as high as 109 dB(C) So, long-lasting battery, shock proof, water proof, good sound quality and loud. Can't get better for $99.
@TheRicardo28

@@emiel333 thank you very much I will buy it for sure because I have the JBL clip2 and I want upgrade for better sound quality with a small speaker and some kind special durability in time. I like a lot of the design of this Bose speaker. I am living in Portugal Europe it is a little more specive than $99 not to much I just tried in the store in the other day I just lovit.

@@TheRicardo28 Great! I highly recommend the Sound Sport Bluetooth ear buds for everyday use and portability, and the Q35 noise cancelling headphones for a more premium experience when traveling, needing to block out distractions, or getting more "lost" in the music.
