These are strictly for sports. People who are looking for great sound quality won't like these. They're not horrible but they're decent.. all I care is that they don't fall out and they work well. I have some over the ear headphones for actual great audio for music.
I’ve owned these for a little over a year and when exercising these stay in your ear no matter what , I would recommend playing with wingtip sizes for optimal fit . They released an update where you can skip ahead or skip back a track with the left bud and a volume swipe function on the right bud , it’s actually very useful and way better than before. As far as sound quality these are amazing , not the best bass but my type of music doesn’t have much base so I’m fine with the very clear and crisp sound quality.
I’m watching with mine rn, I got them after having the Bose SoundSport Free for 2+ years. I loved the SoundSport Free but this is definitely an upgrade, and I highly recommend them if ur thinking about getting them!
I care about 2 things - sound quality and fit. Bose know what they’re doing with the sound profile (don’t need me mucking around with EQ) and I’ve owned other Bose earbuds that fit like a glove. You can have the tiny case and extended battery life, etc. I’ll take the vastly superior sound, thank you. Great review!
I love mine! Fit is perfect and comfortable just like you said. Sound is great! Case is not terrible and it’s small enough to fit in my pocket or gym bag.
Picked these up for 90 quid at Stockholm airport, really can’t argue with that. One thing to note is that they now do have an EQ available after updates 👌
Great review. Punchy. Covered all important points and made me Much more excited to receive mine. I struggle with fit and want something I don’t have to faff with on a run.
I upgraded to these from Galaxy Buds and wow these sound amazing. Not surprising but you don't know how bad the sound quality of the galaxy buds is until using these.
Yes I agree. Galaxy buds, buds+, and buds pro all sound like 💩. For buds pro to be at $199 vs these at $179 I’d buy these all day. The sound quality is unmatch. My go to used to be Sony wf-1000xm3 and AirPods Pro but since I got these I haven’t stopped using them.
I’d buy these all day. The sound quality is unmatch. My go to used to be Sony wf-1000xm3 and AirPods Pro but since I got these I haven’t stopped using them. My only gripe is that my right side seem to loosen up after moving my jaw and face from talking and stuff. The soundsports free never did that. They were perfect and stayed in. The problem with these is the round part that sits on the inside of your ears is too soft and doesn’t stay/sit inside my right ear. Sucks because the right one is the one with most of the air control. Also I hope Bose will come out with a update to turn off voice control and let you choose something else and add double tap to skip PLUS triple tap to go back a track. Why only make it with only one touch command? Makes no sense when every competitors out there have the double and triple taps touch functions.
Yep my brother pretty much bought and returned every single wireless earbud there is. Airpods sound like trash compared to these. These things are NICE!
A lot of people mention the lack of audio adjustment on the Bose app for headphones. But I think Bose do not really concentrate on that as, as a company their ethos has been great sound without having to fiddle with any EQs etc. And they have just kept to that.
I bought these for the 1st time in April 2023 for 130 USD. It’s hard to find the white or black color. I settled for the jade color. With the EQ settings adjusted in the app, they sound alright. I use them for other forms of exercise and they don’t fall out. I do different intensities of rebounding on a fitness trampoline and they don’t fall out!
Just had to send back my sennheiser TW2's back as i could feel every thump of every step. These are on sale for about 130 at the mo! You convinced me to try these. The quiet comfort i think will be too big? But iwant that TW2 level sound quality. Great review thanks!
@@TheRunTesters tried the Jabra 85t first! ANC and hear through we’re impressive, sounded great, but didn’t sound as clean as the Bose and again, it rests on my ear so I hear the thumps but not as bad as the Momentum’s. Also, right ear would not stay in when sweaty. Sent back too. Now, we try the Bose. I think the stay in tips and wings help isolate from the body movement better… I’ll get back to you! I’ll miss the ANC and hearthrough though. Have the Bose soundsport so judging audio from that model and that’s old and battery dies after 30 mins.
@@TheRunTesters The Bose are here, first run. No thumping from my steps. Amazing comfort, beautiful sound, nice flat eq which as a music producer i prefer. Others artificially boost bass or tops even before touching eq and i noticed with the 85T's they would have distortion at certain high frequencies. I do miss the ANC and hearthrough, no eq in the app too but for 130 euro, i'm sticking with these. Thanks for the review. Should have got these first but FOMO takes hold lol. These are it for me until the make the QC's smaller.
I just bought these to finally replace my garbage Apple air buds. I wish I’d switched sooner, but I didn’t realize how much better these were (or how bad the Apple ones really were, when they even worked). It wasn’t an easy choice between the beats, Bose and Sony, but I’m happy with my choice. Like the review says, they stay put, are very comfortable and the sound quality is great.
Do you have any plans to test the Sennheiser True Wireless Momentum 2s? Their sound quality review is up there with the best, but they don't have any wings or stabilisation fittings for your ears. I really want them for their sound, but not if they're going to keep falling out in the gym! Great video! 🙌
Thanks! The Sennheisers are not ones I (Nick) have lined up to test atm unfortunately, but will try and get them on the list! I tend to need wings or something myself when running
I've used the bose Soundsport for over three years, generally on running. never had a problem with fit, sound quality is perfect. That's perfect for running or cardio nature of activities
I've been looking at these earphones and the Jabra 75t. I'm the same as yourself in terms of needing a wing tip to keep them secure during running. Have you found the Jabra as secure?
Hi, I've found the Jabra active 65t and 75t pretty good for non-wing headphones actually. Not quite as secure, but I could use them happily without constant fiddling on the run!
Thanks for your review, is there a big difference and improvement in sound quality, bass and musical details from the previous model, or is the sound quality unchanged? Also, are the bass less than the previous model bose sound sport free..?
It's been a while since I used the Soundsport Free, but I'd say the sound is better with the new headphones. It's not a huge leap though, the better fit is more noticeable for me!
Fantastic pair of earbuds. I had the older pair and can confirm the issue when the earbuds are docked for a number of days and the battery dies was fixed! Bose just released an update where you can swipe up and down on the right ear bud that will control the volume. Can confirm that this works!
They don't block out everything like in-ear buds do, but there's no awareness features. You can kind of hear stuff, basically, depending on how loud your music is.
They are very comfortable, I have this model and the previous model, I like them so much i buy 4 at a time, I have two pairs I use for work so I don't have to worry about charging them, and I get my lady two sets as well, I am a super fan of these the bass is nice, and it's crystal clear sound, the comfortable way it fits, I suggest you get these.
@@leod8489 mids and highs are better on the new sport ear buds, but the older model has a hair more bass, but either one you can’t go wrong! They both have awesome sound! If you are a Bose fan I’d get both, on Amazon you can get the older model for $149.99 or less because they are discontinued I paid $299.99 for the older model when it came out and kind of want to get a few more before they are no longer available either way you go you will be happy with your purchase.
Can you send tips on the fitting, I haven't had problemes with fitting most headphones but with this ones in particular I have had A LOT of problems keeping them in my ear
I have Apple Air Pod Pros and have been very disappointed. I tried to wear them outside when it's hot, and the when I sweat, they come out. I have to readjust frequently. I'm considering these
I thought I heard you say you couldn't control the volume on these earbuds, but I thought you could control the volume up / down by swiping up or down on the right earbud?
@@TheRunTesters Interesting, I thought it was just on Bose Quiet Comfort that they were adding the volume control on. The New Bose Sport on their website says you can swipe up/down for volume control. I think I'm getting confused with the different models. Thank you for this awesome video. I
Actually I think an early version on manual also said it too, so it is confusing! But it def doesn’t work on mine haha, and from what I saw it’s coming to both soon :)
Are these more comfortable than the bose quietcomfort earbuds? The stay stayhear wing/eartips were very painful for my ears and they would often fit into my ear in such a way that the speaker was getting muffled, which sounded like I was wearing the earbuds incorrectly. I'm thinking a smaller form factor like these sports one would do, but I am particular when it comes to bass quality. For me, the whole frequency spectrum has to be accurate or I'm moving on, that is, the bass should be present with a tightness that renders the bite of slap bass or the growl of a precision or jazz bass just right, and while sub-bass isn't as important to me I'd still want some underlying rumble to be present in the mix. The mids were nice on the Quietcomforts, but they were also the strongest focus which made the whole stage sound hollow yet shouting to my ears. I want riffs and power chords to be full and meaty without the distortion of bass, which seems to be something 99% of earbuds struggle with. I also value the cymbals and higher levels of drum performance, which I found to be lacking on the Quietcomforts as a result of that 5Khz dip :( I also like to hear the juicy textures in music, the kind of textures that makes funk music as fun as it is. Again, something 99% of earbuds miss out on. I don't really expect these Bose sports to be any different from the Quietcomforts but I don't want to spend 400 bucks on the Beoplay Eqs either
Would u hear any wind sound during running in really windy condition? I am worrying about the passive noise cancelling against strong wind. Thank you so much
@@TheRunTesters One more question. For some anatomical reasons i use only the RIGHT earbud. Is there a mono option and what else will be the consequences for this ? Thanks a lot in advance.
What about the Bose QC Earbuds? Too big for running? Because I would not buy the headphones only for running and I think the QC add a few things for a more general use.
Thank you very much for great review. I’ve got question for you. I can match your review to my sound sport frees which are exactly fantastic. I have opportunity to update to those ones. But I’m wondering if it’s worth it. I mean please tell me if soundstage is better than mine? Because Ssf are really great for me. Thank you in advance for answering
@@TheRunTesters thank you for answer. Yes sound of Ssf is really great. Fit also. Like nothing I have on 👂🏻. And I think I will stay with them. I’m just curious how newer sounds. Better from very good ones? Or only couple of new features added /touch, auto pause etc/
Hi I’m a senior and just bought these earbuds so your video was very useful I’m not sure there for me although the sound quality is great but quite bid and I don’t run but walk a lot I don’t like not being able to adjust volume in on my iPhone What are the pale greenish small pair of earbuds you showed in this video with others?
MY BEST AND CLOSE FRIENDS BOTH HUSBAND AND WIFE GIVE ME ONE AS GIFT..IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST WIRELESS EARPHONES...SOUND QUALITY MY GOODNESS ITS A...10! SUPER BASS..10 A REALLY BAD ASS..!!QUALITY A 10..!! I GIVE IT A FULL VOLUME A IT REALLY ROCKS BUT ITS NOT HURTFUL TO THE EARS...STILL THE SOUND IS SO FINESS AND SOLID...ONE OF THE BEST WIRELESS HEADPHONES..!!COMFORTABLE TO THE EARS..!!THANK YOU FRET AND KAT WITH NANAY AND KIDS..!!
I noticed even after the new firmware update there's an option to skip forward a track OR go back to a previous track on the left earbud shortcut. Does that mean you can't have BOTH skip forward and go back a track equipped at the same time? Or can you skip forward using the right earbud?
Thank you for your videos. I lost the left Earbuds of my Bose Soundsport Free. I found a user who sells a Earbuds like the one I lost - Left. - If I buy this Earbuds from this user (naturally it is a Bose Soundsport Free) can I pair it with my system? Thanks in advance
Can you use these to take calls? Also, any experience using them across multiple devices? As in, how do they perform when connecting to your phone say, and then moving to computer?
Do they allow to only use one like the left for example and when the battery dies can you use the right right after since it’s been in the case the whole time like AirPods
Hi the right earbud is the one that connects to devices, and the left connects to it, so you could use the right bud by itself but not the left. So you couldn't swap between them while charging one like you can with other headphones
@@TheRunTesters Which is why I wished I spent money on buying a used pair: I'm basically left with a charging case and and an earbud that's useless! Lol
Great review. How about a comparison between these and the Sony SP800n please. I have just ditched the Powerbeats Pro since they gave me a rash around the ear.
Thanks! I mention the Sonys a little in this review, referring to the WF-SP800N (impossible name to remember). The Sony's sound great and have more features including ANC, but I couldn't get them to stay in my ears at all. Mike could though, and he has done a video review of them for the channel here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_Wo9GLytTkQ.html
@@TheRunTesters Thanks for that. I have the wf-1000xm3 for commuting and the Bose qc35 (mk i) anyway. Both aren't suitable to workout with. I have found the Sony on Amazon UK for £140 but might actually go for the Bose since I noticed that you mentioned they don't go right in the ear canal.
Yes no volume controls, though you can activate your phone assistant and then ask them to change the volume using the headphones. That's more of a faff than using the phone for me though!
Hi i have the same headset but the left bud is not working unless i use them both or i leave the case is open. Do you know what i can do? I’ve tried to reset it but still not working I haven’t use it for a year now because it’s annoying when the right bud is out of power then I can’t use the left 😔☹️
Hi top review I’m thinking about buying these how good are they for blocking out strong wind noise whilst running I’m a cyclist so move at a pace 10mph and faster do you think they will be ok for what I’m after thanks.
The Bose buds are more comfortable, but the ear hook on the Powerbeats is more secure. For running the Bose are secure enough. I don't MTB, but I guess you'd want the extra security of an ear hook for that.
I bought them and i INSTANTLY regretted them i wanted a pair of ear bud that you can HEAR the music AND things around you bought a pair or 50 $ noise canceling with a be aware mic system built in so you can hear the music and things around you Bose you have lost my respect and my business you have fallen like the rest and went to cheaper junk materials for a biger buck and it has DEFINITELY shown i remember when i had a pair when they came out with the 1st gen noise canceling wired earbuds that had a battery pack for noise canceling and they worked better STILL vs the qc35 headphones that i purchased or the qc 35 wireless earbuds i dont care if this review sounds cold or not Bose is gone to crap youre paying for a name now just like everything else if i did lil bit of research on acoustics i bet i could turn my lil shop into a sound room And still get as good possibly better sound acoustics and quality depending on what materials i used theres more products out there that are just as good and depending on what products you're discussing even better than Bose
You have to DL a stupid app just to enable some features. Not user friendly. And the battery is NOT 5HRS. It's about 4hrs and 30MINS the MOST. Then after few weeks of use, it's about 4hrs and 20mins. The sound is amazing compared to a lot I've owned. But it's something you have have to get used to. After about a year of used. It's still at 4hrs and 15 to 20mins. It charge pretty fast with the charger though.
your body is like a tour de france pro cyclist honestly btw great review bose never fail.. to create great products for years.. that qc buds is great to the bigger version with anc..
Hello, which ones would you recommend if a secure fit, sound quality, noise canceling and battery life are what matters the most? Thanks for your help and have a nice one
Hi! Tbh I’ve not found one set of headphones that is perfect for all those four things. The Beoplay E8 Sport are great but don’t have active noise cancellation. The Apple Airpods Pro are the best headphones with ANC I’ve used for running but the fit isn’t as secure as with other buds
If you have long hair while working out they are not good. My hair makes siri try to connect if it falls over the earphones. Also, trying to turn down the music with the earbuds it thinks I'm pausing it. Turning the music up, however, works fine.
Volume up and down via swiping does NOT work properly unfortunately.....more so it time and again activates the sound assistant doing so and is very unreliable and clunky to use.....this is unfortunate as I own also the predecessor, which is the hands down best in ear headphone on the market for sports, but also perfect to speak on the phone or zoom with on..but the new ones go back today. Shame.
