Философом может быть каждый но не иметь способа или даже желания этим делиться. I graduated from the same place, and ill tell you one thing no documentary will. Oxford is of course a very prestigious university, that takes its studies and itself very seriously, however Oxford itself isn't all that. I lived there since I was 9 years old, until my graduation at the age of 21. I graduated in 2012 so its just a few years after OXY, and im telling you- Oxford is (was) like a werewolf city: during the day you see beautiful architecture, you see posh private school kids and their parents punting down the canal with a glass of wine, people go to museums, eat and study in cafes, lots of charity events, lots of students, lots of old people too. But then during the night.... it gets dark, real dark. The ambulances always running, all the students are drinking themselves to death, so much drugs you wouldn't believe!!! And if you make it up the hill, towards Headington theres a road with a club which was THE MOST LIKELY PLACE TO GET LAID IN ENGLAND, it was statistically true at that point in time. There's vomit everywhere on the streets, vomit and empty donner kebab takeaway boxes, lots of drug dealers, lots of burglaries and lots of stabbings. Stabbing seems to be something English people seem to enjoy in general, not just Oxford. Once you pass your exams and get in, the studies themselves are actually never that hard, the main challenge that i personally faced while being over there was: to come out on the other side without any health or mental problems. I Enjoyed partying just as much as I enjoyed being part of Oxford University. Not everyone there, even at Oxford uni. is a posh intellectual, I know I'm not for sure. Many people apply for an easy course and then change subject after they get in. If I'm not mistaken, Oxy did something like Russian literature right? Now come on, is it so hard to imagine that a regular, reasonably smart Russian guy, who's parents have money, can get into one of the top universities in the world and enroll himself on a course where he would definitely have an advantage over others? He doesn't need to be a genius, or a super hard worker to do that. What he did do is: instead of partying he got into rap and made something happen. This is something which I could have done, but didn't. Because I was an asshole who liked to party too much. I mean i'm not complaining, I have a good job that pays but my life is boring af, because i didnt invest in my dreams, but invested in others' expectations of me. I hope this helps someone who is interested, understand this side of Oxy. I like to see news about him, just to compare how my life and his life is going. Mine's probably going more smoothly, but I would trade places with him in a heartbeat.
