I just find it extra hilarious how attacking as the frog still uses the default punch sound effect, implying the frog has a very strong tongue even by frog standards.
There was a board game I played a while back on Steam called Talisman, and one of the possible effects that could be put on you was Toad, which dropped your Attack and Defense to 1 and disabled whatever abilities you would have otherwise. Winning a battle as a toad gives you the "Battletoad" achievement.
I can't believe you didn't go with something from the N64 for episode 64, but then again, doing the unexpected is good too. What a game Portrait of Ruin is.
I always love it when git does videos on self-imposed challenges, especially if its a challenge of beating all bosses while following certain restrictions/conditions. And this one is both interesting and hilarious XD
"... the top hop jump is one of those things I can do consistently for a bit, but then suddenly, I seem to lose the ability to do it at all!" Believe me, I know what that's like.
it's freakin' silly how you can only damage Dullahan's armor instead of his head. I think it should be the other way around. Also, everyone should know the dev never made Toad Morph for battling, so not surprised when he can't fight all of them, but don't ask why lv1 hard mode is overwhelming.
I was just thinking of your castlevania boss analysises... analyses? * ahem * And then not 15m later this shows up. You sure know how to brighten my day Kermit. By the way, in Dawn of Sorrow, you can attack Gergoth's Gas to push it back, can you do so here to create a safe space and make him beatable?
34:46 Unless I'm mistaken, I think you can use your base attack to throw away the gas before it hits you. So in theory if one times the hit correctly they can avoid this attack. Edit: Just watched Shadowserg's Dawn of Sorrow boss rush video and at the minute 13:46 they use the greatsword to throw away the gas. So it should be possible to do so in this game.
Regarding the Frankenstein monster's machine gun attack, it is possible to use your tongue to hit them if you stand at just the right spot on the ground. But the timing and precision needed is EXTREMELY tight. Out of dozens of attempts of my own it only worked for me once... so not exactly a reliably viable strategy anyway.
This reminds me of the fan game, Castlevania fighter where one of the joke characters was the frog, and it had hydro storm as an item crash. It might have been the most broken character I played in it.
I remember suggesting git to cover a portrait of ruin boss (not a specific one) in his community post asking for boss suggestions, didn't expect him to accept the suggestion in such an unexpected way😲
no enemy scan this time? Also there's a mugen castlevania game that's a boss rush that plays like the games themselvesn(with platforms and even a level system) that has the frog as a playable character with a decent moveset!
The playable frog in the fan made boss rush game called Castlevania Fighter is way better because unlike in Portrait of Ruin, the frog actually CAN double jump and doesn't have shitty stats
I'll use a slightly different rubric that's a touch more generous: 14 possible 7 not possible (but 6 of which MIGHT be if one certain attack never came up in the RNG - approximately 0 chance of that happening during the length of the battle though) 1 Maybe (counts as .5, because Abaddon is a weird scattershot) 1 Death cheats like a little bitch (counts as .5, because this really SHOULD have been possible) 1 Can't actually fight the boss as a toad (null) The toad scores a 15/23. ...If you told me a frigging TOAD MORPH would get over 50% in a challenge of 'damageless run', I would've called you cracked. I thought MAYBE four or five bosses would be possible with a couple of unlikely maybes...wrong I was. It's always better when the challenge run actually turns out to be a lot more viable than you originally expect.
i dont know how much of an advantage it would give you, but couldnt you transform for the second boss while on the platform, that way you can at least dodge his unavoidable attack once?
Something's telling me it was more fortunate than unfortunate to you that Brauner was impossible. If it was possible, that would imply you would have to sit there dealing 1 damage on a boss that has 5000 health.
@@whoisthisgit Well if you ever feel like doing it it's pretty simple, all you need is IPSpatcher and you can find romhacks from romhacking, just type "romhacking aria of sorrow" and you'll find hacks like kaizo mode (no healing allowed + far harder), hack where you play as Dracula, along some other neat hacks that change ennemies spawn along the castle, with some that can be sequence breaked so you could be Dark Soma talking to Yuuko with Soma saying "I've just encountered Graham" LMAO. Dawn of sorrow also have some hacks, one of theme is pretty hard right at the start because it will spawn an infinite number of bats in a row but still if you love Aria of sorrow be sure to check it out and if you need some help I could always help you. Btw if you own the Castlevania GBA collection i've heard that it work since it's just the game being emulated regardless but I've tested it on a GBA emulator.
Poet: Some say 'whoisthisgit'. Me: Yes, they do. Poet: Yet has some said 'howdoesthisgit'? Me: I don't know, why? Poet: Because how does this git have enough patience to put with this? Me: ...that was a pun, wasn't it? And a very bad one at that. Poet: ...yes, it was. Me: Ok, I'm outta here.
