I uploaded Part 1 of "BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble" on my RU-vid channel ( / kentarokiuchi .
The "BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble" is a vintage pedal that Mr. John Frusciante still useing and loves on his pedal board, and is a chorus/vibrato pedal that continues to be loved by musicians around the world.
This video is intended for people who are not HeART purchasers, people who are interested in vintage pedals such as the CE-1, and people of all ages who are considering purchasing the CE-1.
Created for everyone to have a better understanding.

The video is better than anyone else has done yet. The clarity of having a buffer before the ce1 is night & day of a difference. So many people try the ce1 without a buffer before it and claim to have horrible tone but they don’t understand why. You have truly represented how to achieve John’s tone with accurate gear. I salute your effort 👏. Also, it would cool to do a video on how to recreate John’s tone without the ce1, and just using both amps and setting to edge of breakup, similar to what the ce1 does, then compare to show the importance of the ce1. I’m sure you’ve seen Dave simpson’s videos on John’s tone and how he doesn’t think you need the ce1. I’ve also made an “affordaboard” on achieving his tone. But yours is amazing brother. Sorry for rambling on and on. I’m just so excited 😂

Great demo. The info regarding how badly the lack of a buffer before the CE-1 affects the tone was unvaluable. I've never played an original CE-1, but I've been trying some of the best clones out there. What a stellar setup and to-die-for tones you've got there!

Damn kentaro… your sheer tenacity and incredible dedication to explaining johns tone is just mind blowing… there’s a few people out there who really spend a hell of a lot time going into the depths on frusciante’s tone , but I have to say , I find yours the most intriguing and gripping to watch and learn. Thank you 🙏. I wonder though , do other replica’s like the past fx and triungulo labs ce-1 incur the same phasing issues?

Thank you! Your words are very encouraging. John's guitar tone can sometimes feel like magic. I would be happy if anyone could have a better understanding of John's sound. I haven't been able to research the details and internals yet, but I think the Triungulo lab CE-1 is a good pedal. I own and purchased from Will.

Exactly the kind of videos we need, excellent editing too! Very interesting about the buffer in High mode, do you need to put the boss pedal just before the ce-1 or if it is just in the pedal chain it is ok? I have only the DS-2 as boss pedal but not right before the ce-1 preamp and it seems to sound very good in High Mode.

Thank you! Your words are very encouraging. I can't tell if you need a buffer pedal in front of the CE-1 Preamp pedal without looking at the internal structure, but if you use the VINTAGE BOSS CE-1 in HIGH mode, you should put a pedal in front of the VINTAGE BOSS CE-1. is OK. DS-2 is also OK. It is OK if you connect just before or before CE-1.If in the chain, before CE-1, no problemn.

@@KentaroKiuchi After testing, to me, anywhere before in the chain a boss pedal give me the same tone. I tryed with a DD-3 just before CE-1 and i tryed with a DS-2 with 5 non-boss pedals beetween => same.

It's a great pleasure to greet you, I always watch your videos and they have helped me a lot... I have a question if you can help me... I have a Boss Ce1, it works excellent in stereo... BUT I feel that when using it in mono, and I turn on a distortion pedal (Boss Ds2) it loses a bit of punch or presence to the distortion... let me explain better... if I'm using the Boss ds2 and I turn on the Boss Ce1, it seems that certain frequencies are cancelled, and it sounds a bit less "loud"... in clean it is not noticeable, but when I turn on an overdrive, distortion or fuzz pedal before the chorus this problem happens... this only happens when I use it in Mono... when using it in Stereo it does not happen and the sound It's huge since it's easy to handle by mixing the volume of the 2 amps... Has something like this happened to you when using the chorus in mono? I have tried to look for information on the internet, but I have not found... I have a Boss ce2 that only has mono output, and unlike the ce1, with distortion it sounds even louder (boosts the mids). I will be attentive any help... greetings from Chile
