I had a boss who made me work Thanksgiving, then he had the audacity to talk to me about how he enjoyed Wed-Monday off like he was rubbing it in and I was his best friend. His face aged 20 years and his heart ripped in half when I looked at him and said "I don't care.....I don't care about you at work or your life outside of work"
It’s amazing how clueless people can be. If I took the week off while making other people work I wouldn’t say a peep about it. It’s really the same level as resting your nuts on someone’s face then telling them “you know, nothing cradles nuts better than eye sockets.”
@@MathasarSalazar2 He was speechless for 2 days and was like "Did anyone miss me when I was gone or what?" I just said "I didn't even realize you were gone, it's always a good thing when you're not here."
Companies don’t realize the sheer malice that goes on when they push extra hours and holiday work, or cutting vacation . I saw a worker destroy a whole pallet of pickles from being so pissed off about work. It shut down the conveyor for 4 hours. Pinching pennies to spend thousands is what big corporations always do.
I desperately need to know more about this, lmfao.. So he was furious and he destroyed a pallet of pickles?? What did he do? And why did it mess up the conveyor?? lol this story sounds like a good one
@@jamesd.6979 It was a simple accident! He was tired, and rushing to meet deadlines, and he spun the fork truck a little too fast and caught a riser and, whoop, there go all the pickles.
man.. i've seen my fair share of crazy forklift accidents in person but that sounds like a pretty crazy one. Had a really good one happen to me on Black Friday last year.. I was bringing down a full pallet of bottled water. almost as soon as I got the forks in and started to lift it up, it all started to collapse towards the side. at that point it was already too late. I'm pretty sure each pallet of bottled water has about 120 cases on it, no joke I would say about 80 of them fell down directly from the overstock rack which was about 14 feet high. Probably about 40 of those cases busted open after hitting the floor. As you can imagine, there was water ALL OVER the floor along with individual bottles that had busted out from the cases. It was an absolute disaster. Basically, whoever had initially unloaded this pallet from the truck absolutely destroyed it. More than likely a newer employee. The entire right hand side of the pallet was completely broken off from the piece on the side that braces it. Like basically whoever put that pallet on the overstock rack tried to get back out of the pallet with the forks still tilted upwards. They probably fought with it for awhile totally unable to figure out they needed to tilt forward to even out the tines. Eventually they were able to get out of it, but in the process they absolutely booby trapped the person who would come to pick it back up (ME, lol).. @@AHDBification
@@jamesd.6979 I was just doing a "thought exercise" on why a disgruntled employee might spill a pallet of pickles. I'm forklift certified, but I never actually got to drive one while I was in a warehouse.
I’ve always wandered what a man with split personality would be like and I think this guy has shown us. He pulls it off so well that he can piss people off and make them contemplate arson at the same time. Happy Thanksgiving🔥
with Christmas coming up I expect this company will want to do something to show appreciation for their employees. three things would be prefect: a mandatory party at work, the cheapest food they can provide for this party or it's potluck and management isn't bringing food because they are providing the space for the party, and none of the workers wanting to go.
The kicker would be for them to deduct $50 from everyone’s paycheck to offset the cost of the party. Wait a minute we gotta bring the food so why are you taking $50 for? See you just don’t think! There’s other expenses…the decorations… the lights, who’s gonna be paying for them? You? Well yea you that’s why we’re taking that $50.
@@algorithmoverlord1051 get in, find a better company after a couple years, then find a better company. Then you should be established and your time and work will be rewarded. Way too many bad oilfield companies out there.if you are a natural leader you will prosper.
Its a hard life and its dangerous, but there's comradery amongst the crew almost like a second family. Good pay with good benefits and the experience working around diesel and hydraulics can be taken back home and applied to other jobs if need be. I lost a finger and a father to the oilfield, but its also payed to build a home and raise a family. @@algorithmoverlord1051
@@algorithmoverlord1051I dunno, is your soul worth anything? Don’t forget that oil rigs are directly ruining the future of all people, animals, and a lot of plants.
lol... what's sad about this is that its literally like two of my managers arguing... one of them is like "we gotta be running 24/7" and the other is like "anyone that wants to come to the Christmas party should be able to attend" *glares at other manager*. Meanwhile we are just sitting there like "there's literally only one guy working when the Christmas party is happening, why is this an argument?"
It never, ever occurs to the manager that if it’s vital that someone is working 24/7, maybe they should do it. It’s not vital, because they would never consider it.
Let’s just take a moment to express and appreciate how good of an actor is this guy… he makes me feel hate and empathy at the same time towards him by those two characters…. Amazing!
This hit home I've been in this position for almost 20 years worked for a company exactly like this and I finally quit and let me tell you I should or done it 19 years ago but I was so worried about not being able to find another good paying job to support my 3 kids and wife, I quit ended up getting a new job 2 weeks later making 8.50 more an hour then I was and havjt looked back and this company actually cares about my family and me,
Thank you God I no longer work at a place like this. For any of y’all that do though, stay strong and keep your eyes out looking for better places to be. Happy Thanksgiving❤
I work at a walmart right now. There is no counting how many times Ive made the joke, 'Listen friends, we all need to pitch in and work a little harder and get more freight done today because the quarterly bonuses are on the way. Now you and I may not be the ones to get it, but that is no excuse to not put in the effort and make sure those bonuses happen. Just because YOU and I wont get any extra money doesnt mean that our salaried management shouldnt get theirs!'
That ending though. Like I'm fortunate to work out on the tow boats and don't have some of these issues, but dang it that ending made me feel for the people in other jobs.
My favorite was the security job I worked at while going to school. They would schedule you for 11p-7a on Christmas night. That meant a whopping one hour of time and a half for giving up your holiday just to get some sleep before your shift.
I had the same type of security job, quit on the spot and they lost the contract with mayo clinic because they couldn't find a replacement. I taught myself to code during downtime on the job and now I work at Microsoft. Just move on from the shitty jobs you won't regret it in the long run
Nah, I'd be bringing Christmas dinner with me and let nature take its course when the tryptophan kicks in. I'm not sleeping, I'm just concentrating very hard on this fly on the ceiling.
Tbh, As a single man in his twenties without any family I really enjoy working the holidays so I don't start feeling bad sitting home by myself without any plans.
What angers me working at restaurants is having to work on holidays like thanksgiving and the owners get to be home with their families and we do not get holiday bonuses like the whole reason they make money is cause we come to work. And to top it off we close at a certain time but they keep it past that if someone comes just as we are about to close.
The laugh/cry of a man that has been pushed too far followed by the look of grim determination at the end fuckin' hit different and was sadly hilarious. Coulda sworn I heard the "Doom" soundtrack kick in, for some reason. Wonderful work and I hope there's not a fire! That would be a tragedy!
Those are the kinda tears a man sheds when every bone in his body is screaming for justice and respect, but acting on it will somehow make him the victim and destroy your life. When you know everyone in the room is thinking the exact same thing, but the fact that your even thinking about it is almost enough to get you in jail...
I actually had a boss tell me that I was going to work Thanksgiving. I told him i wasn't coming to work. He said there would be consequences if i don't. And...... I didn't. I somehow got "sick" When I came back to work on Monday i handed him my pto paper and got paid for it 😅
Should have seen this coming when the companies started downplaying thanksgiving and going straight into Christmas. Now it's no longer a thanksgiving holiday, but a "discount Dan's cheap bulk bullshit" day into "commercialism day" into "alcohol and spirits day."
My schedule came in to as well and working day before 2 pm to close which is 9 pm, working thanksgiving day which 10 am to 6 pm hopefully, and day after 2 pm to close which being friday will be 2 pm to 10 pm or later.
My whole working life almost always worked on Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July, new years... It was a 24/7 factory and I'm sure I worked more holidays than not
Crazy dedication, isn't it extremely taxing on your body & mind though? I'm just curious. Sounds like you are an employee-of-the-month every month, or atleast you should be
@@tangent123456 that's why I'm retired now. When I started in 83 it was the first year they elected to not shut down at Christmas for maintenance due to freezing weather and they just continued that for the next 30+ years. Used to shut down over the 4th of July and at Christmas. You get used to it until you get tired of it, rotating shift work can be taxing.
I worked it 7PM t0 3AM I still enjoyed dinner with the family and took left overs to work. Along with 2 pumpkin pies to share with my co workers. Its just part of life working for a automotive company.
Worked at a machine shop years ago that always had the 'big push' before Xmas. Even though you had to use up your vacation time by the 31st of December . They would ask you to work OT and weekends right up until Christmas Eve and then come in the day after ! Every year it was like this ; a total emergency rush. One year we had a company meeting about it (again) and my buddy stood up and said "You all know Christmas comes the same date EVERY YEAR , right? You know 6 months ago when Xmas was going to be and STILL could not plan for it ? You must be a bunch of morons!" I can still remember the dead silence in the lunch room. We were eventually bought out by a German competitor due to our company going under
I work on most holidays. Finally giving us double time on major holidays. Worked 60 hours the week after thanksgiving... working christmas eve and christmas this year.. new years eve and new years. Least my job allows tips
