Wow, it's come a long way since I bought my GR55 . Tracking seems super stable and fast in comparison. And being able to use 4 voices is brilliant. I WANT ONE
It is reportedly very similar. First somewhat credible report has 23-25ms on the low E string with a consistent 10ms on the high E string. For comparison, the same tester reported Fishman Triple Play as 18-20ms on the low E string and 10ms for the high E. So that’s pretty good. On the same test rig, the SY-1000 had 48ms and 25ms. That would mean the GM-800 has halved the latency against previous Roland and Boss products.
@@WonkeyWabbit the attack on the transients on the ftp is useable, so that’s a big win on Roland’s behalf. Cutting the difference so close is a big accomplishment on their end!
Ok as I said in my last reply I have been using the tripleplay via 5pin midi in with the gm800.Its tracking is super fast etc.I decided to try out the gk5 .The tracking isnt as fast .With the tripleplay I can legato the shit out of the gm800 pianos with no drop outs or hanging notes or squeaks etc. seemed slightly better than a gk2a.I will be selling it .This is just my experience (also I did set it up correctly having used midi pickups for the last 20 yrs).Hope this helps
Thanks for the demo & the sub titles that really helps. Does this have regular guitar effects like the GR 55 that can be used apart from synth keyboard tones?
Dude, I have a question: About the latency? I noticed that the delay between the time you play and the moment the sound comes out is a bit of a hindrance. Did you notice this too or is this resolved by the distance between the string and the pickup?
What sound engines does it use? Midi(sampled sounds), synth(oscillators) or amp modeller? Sy300 gets its sound from synth(oscillators) only. But i liked the midi or sampled sounds of gr55? So i am confused what are the sound engines that gm800 uses? Is it just upgrade to sy300 or it has midi engine too like gr55 does?
No Normal Guitar In and Out. So I'm Out........Very Bad BOSS, Come On! The Fishman Triple Play is quite old now and adding a Guitar signal to a wireless unit would make you a winner Boss...You missed your opportunity.....always something missing on Roland/Boss Products.......to add it to the next product.....I will wait for that one....
