🎸 Set up the Boss FS-7 to have the LEDs ON, so you know what effects are active! 🎸
In this video about the Boss GT-1 Multi Effects Processor from ‪@BOSSinfoglobal‬ & ‪@rolandglobal‬, I'll show and explain how to set up the Boss FS-7 Dual Footswitch in Latch Mode, so the FS-7's LEDs will stay on, when you activate effects and change parameters.
Normally, when the FS-7 is in Momentary Mode, the LEDs will only blink briefly, when the footswitches are activated, so setting it up in Latch Mode will make it A LOT easier to see when effects and parameters are actually being activated and changed. No more remembering and no more guesswork.

@@GuitarNTabs I've been using Saturn works micro pedals. So far they've been working with everything I needed them to. But I have all latching ones and didn't think it would work with the ms3. Your video clarified what I needed to know

Thanks It works for one patch, but if change to other patch the led will not change the status automatically according to patch. Sometimes you need pressed twice to take it back to control.

Hi, You have probably set up the FS-7 incorrectly. Please have a look in the Manual PDF or Parameter Guide PDF. It's all explained there. The Polarity and Mode has to be set up properly, to work with the GT-1. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else. Cheers.

@@GuitarNTabs I have done exactly as you have explained in this video. It works perfectly inside same patch. But if I move to other patch, the gt does not send any signal to fs7. So fs7 will remain on same led status as previous patch. But it is not big deal.if I press it twice it will recover the rigth led status in the worst case! Thanks anyway! It helped a lot!

@@GuitarNTabs I use stereo cable in the A + B input of fs7. In your configuration, when you change the patch, the fs7 changed the led status automatically on same time?

This is the issue. It only works on one patch. But if you go to other patch the lights not following the patch’s setting.

Hi this is nice. Can you please tell me how do I connect my GT-1 to my Yamaha THR30II amp? I want the preset sounds from the from GT-1 to go the Yamaha. Thank you.

Hi Angel. Thanks for your comment. The best thing you could do would be to connect the GT-1 to the Yamaha amp and only use the GT-1's effects. Set the Output Select on the GT-1 to Combo Amp. If you want to use the GT-1 for both effects and preamp models, then you could connect through the Yamaha's AUX input. I hope this helps. Cheers.

Thanks, great explanation! You showed to switch on/off effects, but is it also possible to change parameters of an effect with the FS-7?

Hi! Thanks for your comment, and for watching! Yes, parameters can be changed as well, for example the rate of a chorus, the sustain of a compressor, or the gain of an overdrive. I hope this helps.

@@GuitarNTabs Hi, I actually have another question, maybe you can help. I have my FS-7 switch set up and with one of the switches I control the reverb time setting. CTL2 and CTL3 are OFF, but Assign 1 has CTL2 in toggle mode assigned to the time parameter of the reverb (min 2.2s and max 10s). This is stored in one of the user-presets (say U20) and works fine! However the status of the FS-7 LEDs is apparently not saved to the user-preset: if I switch to another user-preset (say U21) and use the FS-7 there and then go back to U20, the sound of U20 is correct but does not correspond to the status LEDs of the FS-7. So, how can I save the FS-status LEDs to the user-preset?

@@mrfrankweijers - Hi again, Sorry for the late reply. Hmm, that's strange, from what I remember, when having patches like this, using the FS-7 like so, I had no problem switching between patches, etc. I can't say for sure, I will have to check my GT-1 and the settings. I could be wrong, but I'm not sure. Thanks.

hi mate , two fs7 already not working anymore , i went to tomlee music shop and they told me cannot repair . both pedal lights worked but no signal going through ... the last fs7 lasted only one month . 1st ctl 2 stopped working and then after some time ctl 3 also stopped .. i am very disappointed . do you an idea what is the cause of this problem ?

Hi, Hmm, that sounds very strange, I haven't had any issues with mine... You might have been unlucky and gotten some from at bad patch... Have you tried contacting Boss, they may be able to assist? Cheers.
