Yep. It's a classic for a reason. Has a tone that fits any amp I have ever used. With an EQ you have everything you need.

I have a pedal hackers mega metal mod on my metal zone and it's the best gain pedal I own, I use it in conjunction with a dophix and it gets a really nice tube-like grind and thats straight from solid state, I can only imagine how it would sound through a nice tube amp

Iwas just about to download the mercurial plugin version to compare with the real pedal i use it as a boost for my bass and as a preamp strait into an ir loader
