Can you use the pocket gt while learning with an app like Yousician? Currently I am using the positive grid riff and it works perfectly. I just want to use different sounds while practicing.

Do we need to pay/subscribe for the app? Or is it free?

Soundwise is it better than Moore prime, especially gainy sounds?

I see you can tweak the preloaded patches and save them in one of the empty slots (91 to 99) - or overwrite any other slot for that matter. BUT then the patch you created and moved somewhere else cannot be renamed. It carries the same name as the original patch. Is there a way around this? E.g. I used preloaded patch number 2 ("Deluxe crunch") as a starting point for a sound that fits the clean sound of Creep by Radiohead and saved it in slot 99. But I can't seem to rename to, say, Creep Clean.. Annoying.

Everyone is talking abour connecting GTP to headphones. But it is possible to just connect output straight into amplifier?

Can I use the the GT and then use the App to get more features to use with my Katana live or at least use the presets in the amp. I do not have a windows based computer only an Android phone?

Just want to add that you can use the cancel button with RU-vid videos that are coming thru your phone via Bluetooth, not just tracks coming in thru usb, so all the marker stuff, the AB looping works with the center part muted.

Nice review! If you tell me that I can slow down and loop RU-vid videos on this thing then I’m sold. I’ll go out and get one tomorrow. Can I load my own instructional videos (not from RU-vid)? If I’m linked to my iPad via Bluetooth can I also link to my Bluetooth headphones? I know, probably too much to ask for.

That is a very confusing headphone amp. I wanted it to be a tool to say record yourself play over at and upload it. I'd be more interested if its were simpler

I asked my local equipment shop whether this device would work as a sort of substitute for my pedals, seeing it has so many different sounds preloaded. They said the line out is a mini jack output which means it's not really meant to be used as a multieffects unit. I wish you got into that aspect more since it looks like this gadget is primarily made to be used with headphones.

Instead of using headphones can you hook it up to a desktop Yamaha guitar amplifier instead?

One more question. Can I record audio with the GT and use the phone camera at the same time?

This product is a total fail. To use it in the manner advertised it requires you to buy a $40 output adapter cable. Bought a Pocket GT yesterday at local retailer. Told by them and seemingly apparent from the advertising is the ability to go with output to an amp or board. I bought this to use a portable guitar processor that will fit in my pocket to use at open mic's and jams. There is no 1/4 inch output jack, a 1$ factory additional cost that would make this thing useful for a lot more than headphones as shipped. It has a tiny HEADPHONE JACK supposedly useful for output. A tiny piece of junk designed to supposedly hold a fairly heavy output cable attached to a tiny jack soldered to a circuit board. The response I got when I enquired of Roland/Boss was composed of 2 parts stated and 1 unstated: 1) Yea, it will work as we advertise, you just have to spend another 1/3 of the device cost to simply plug it in. 2) Here are a bunch of links here you can buy our $1,000 floor processors. 3) Unstated>: Go p*ss off, customer. Buy our EXPENSIVE stuff. It is NOT a guitar processor, it is a headphone toy. Useful only for messing around. Last thing I buy from Roland/ Boss.

The Boss scroll wheels always break.

Lot of confusion here. A headphone jack sends a line level signal which is different than what comes out of a guitar cable. Just because an 1/8th to 1/4 inch adapter fits doesn't mean it's the right choice. Maybe educate yourself before badmouthing Boss or the kid salesman.

What a stupid function Boss decided to go with on this one. A RU-vid play along function? How much did they get paid by RU-vid to make this one.

A guitar practice tool with no metronome?
