when you said no Footswitch Jack plug, right away I was a little shocked, I am thinking why not?. It’s the reason I wanted it.

There is a new footcontroler with 3 footswitches for this unit thats also wireless. Boss FS-1-WL and Boss EV 1 for foot volume. I use it personally with the 4x10 cab to be honest I find that the response of the processor is much more there this way and i use an EQ after the amp to shape the sound overall once the amp has been set and EQed. The brutish ones for high gain are awesome, the rectefire is kinda fizzy, there are loads of things I could talk about, but its gonna take way too much! Spend a little bit of time with it and there is nothing out there that beats this for home and rehearsal for the price, not even close.

Supposedly you can also program the three 'youtube' buttons on the front to act as switches for presets. I know I'm sold either way.

Do you think that the Boss Katana Go is much better?

Also I'm able to record the demo to my recorder. Don't expect the completed track as on my album. Amp Sims are perfect for demos

Really excellent once you add the ev-1 . It is surprising just how much ground the PGT can cover all in your guitar bag

I have the GT-1, and I'm very happy with it. But I just got the Pocket GT too, because I can share the same tones across. And the ability to load up backing tracks on my phone is awesome for practice. Great device ( Ii wonder if there is a Boss bluetooth pedal that can be linked? - haven't had time to look at that yet).

Playing with my bands MP3 demos is so wonderful. Am able to write my guitar parts. Perfect alternative to my rig. Of course it won't sound like my main rig.

I just ordered mine 2 days ago. Cant wait to try it. I have been using a Valeton GP200 and i love it, was tossed between that and the POD Go, but the price of the GP200 was definitely worth the plunge. I've always been a boss pedal guy since the late 80's early 90's, but you just cant get over how good these things sound and how practical it is to get rid of 10-20 pedals for one device that fits in a bag (or your pocket!) I love the BOSS software for this unit, its really impressive what they've been able to do.

Loving this review format man, I know you’ve said you’ve had experience with line 6 equipment but would you be able to do a comparison between this and the something like the HX stomp? Just spitballing at this point. Keep up the good work!

I saw your headrush review and went out and bought a headrush. Then I saw your boss gx-100 review so I sold the headrush and bought that. Here we are now and I swear to god I was checking for prices online for the pocket gt. Please stop this madness 😂😂🤟🤟

I use this for learning new chords scales and songs. Gives me a reason to unplug from my main rig and stop noodling to focus on learning. Pro tip, a EV-wl-1 expression pedal and fs7 adds all you need for wah and effect control. I plan to asli pick up a fs-1-wl to expand it further. Gives a total of 5 switches and exp control.

Apart from the centre cancel I can't see the point of this you can connect most amps to your phone or computer either aux or bluetooth and use youtube controls to pause or repeat.

Don't even bother about the RU-vid function. Can control RU-vid from phone. This is a practice device,in silence. That's the beauty of this. Send demos to the Boss. Perfect at 3am

Great video!!! I'm old and have a knackered back so bought the GT-1 and FS-7 Footswitch. Got a headless guitar. Now I'm wondering whether the pocket GT which has the same engine as the GT-1 is capable of being used live..., your thoughts pls... as I may still need to downsize due to my medical back issues.

I have one. It’s amazing. Great quality as you’d expect from BOSS. I started plugging it into my little practise amp via audio cables then I miced it in practise , all sounded great. Now I have the expression pedal and footswitch. I’m using it for my tone for now before I start buying any pedals again cos they’re expensive yo haha. *if you get the expression pedal MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE THE POCKET GT SOFTWARE VIA COMPUTER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CONNECT lol…you’ll get all the way to the end then be missing one thing that will have you stumped

Sounds as good as Iridium to me for clean (not distortion). I’m using mine with pedals for overdrive, for recording. This thing isn’t meant to be stepped on. Partly why it’s inexpensive is that it’s plastic. Footswitch would make this a stompbox not a headphone amp.

To be honest with you the RU-vid feature is really the heart of its price , and its a feature I can do without

This thing would be amazing to use on the go with my MPC Live 2. I have a Katana for easy mobile stuff, but this may solve a couple of other mobile problems more conveniently. Also, that BC Rich guitar is absolutely beautiful!

The EV-1-W1 was replaced the following fall (2022) by drivers for the FS-1-WL. Same wireless MIDI implementation, but three footswitches, with expansion jacks on the back that take a regular 2-button footswitch and an analog Expression pedal. Why settle for ONE footswitch on the GT, when you can have 5 programmable footswitches plus Expression. Also, the FS-1-W1 is considerably cheaper than the EV.

I also wish that there was some way of using foot switch(s). That really seems to be missing from this micro modeler. There probably will be new micro modelers that will have this feature in the future and even possibly with midi etc. I am building a portable looper system and this unit will most likely be in the rig. However without any footswitch control will just have to change presets by hand.

Is it possible to send a stereo signal thru the USB input to EFX channel? I am a synth player.

Not too shabby but dirty tones won't cut it for me. How about doing some clean stuff so I can tell how well it works as an amp simulation?

Why do these manufacturers keep dropping the ball with things like this?! If that had a pedal input and say a 3 switch pedal (heck sell it separately) this could be absolutely fantastic for buskers, band rehearsal or even a backup for your main rig for musicians out there on a budget.

This product is a total fail. To use it in the manner advertised it requires you to buy a $40 output adapter cable. Bought a Pocket GT yesterday at local retailer. Told by them and seemingly apparent from the advertising is the ability to go with output to an amp or board. I bought this to use a portable guitar processor that will fit in my pocket to use at open mic's and jams. There is no 1/4 inch output jack, a 1$ factory additional cost that would make this thing useful for a lot more than headphones as shipped. It has a tiny HEADPHONE JACK supposedly useful for output. A tiny piece of junk designed to supposedly hold a fairly heavy output cable attached to a tiny jack soldered to a circuit board. The response I got when I enquired of Roland/Boss was composed of 2 parts stated and 1 unstated: 1) Yea, it will work as we advertise, you just have to spend another 1/3 of the device cost to simply plug it in. 2) Here are a bunch of links here you can buy our $1,000 floor processors. 3) Unstated>: Go p*ss off, customer. Buy our EXPENSIVE stuff. It is NOT a guitar processor, it is a headphone toy. Useful only for messing around. Last thing I buy from Roland/ Boss.
