The PW-3 is a great Wah, and it (now?) engages smooth and easy It fits perfectly on Pedaltrain Metros, it has a decent size, larger than CyBaby-Mini or the new Morley 20/20 Wahs. I am a Wah-fanatic and played many Dunlop Wahs (CAE, 535q, Dimebag), Fulltone, a Zvex Wah Probe and a (big) Bad Horsie of course and bought the PW3 looking for a smaller sized wah for my smaller sized pedalboard and needed a buffered one that does old-school fuzz pedals. I like the Boss PW3 because of its sound (I prefer Vintage mode to Rich mode), it has a great throaty moooaaaan sound, very classy and it just does the right frequencies to cut through the mix in Band situations, it is a sturdy, smooth wah and it does work with fuzzes very well By the way: My wah is switching on/off very easy. Remove 1 or more of the grey rubber-pads underneath the rocker (it’s explained in the manual as well) ....
Great pedal! But after a year or so the potentiometer started scratching and I got no response to get a replacement, it doesnt use a traditional potentiometer so finding the spare part is very hard. Now it's just an expensive paperweight
Hello friend! Try put a lot of WD40 lub on the interior of the pot. After that, move the pot constantly, and put some more WD. WD only on inside of the pot, be carefull with the rest of components. Sorry my bad english ✌🏾👏🏽
I think the Boss PW-10 from 20 years ago sounded good too. Is there anyone here with experience with both? I like the sound of the PW-10, it also has a pedal controlled Univibe effect as well as Crybaby, Vox and custom Wah modes. It also has built in distortion models, Big Muff, Blues Driver and others.
