Did you know that If the player loses multiple times consecutively against Gill and continues, Gill will begin taunting (he laughs). This signifies that the difficulty has been lowered.
I remember the first time I fought Gill. The first time I defeated him, and the first time I heard 'Resurrection' There was much swearing that day, and it could have been heard down the block.
+Lunar Templar It takes the piss so much that first time when you dont even know it's a thing, then you've got a 1/2 of your life and now you need to go in again, after your pointless celebration you had in your head for half a second, especially after you thought you'd done well keeping 1/2 your bar haha
+Dean Avery yes I know your pain. I thought to myself. how could someone be satisfied with themselves after creating something so frustrating to others lol.
I just adore the way III was animated. Just every little movement these characters make is a sight to behold. Can you imagine if Marvel Vs Capcom 3 or SF4 used gorgeous, hand drawn HD sprites and had this kind of loving detail poured into their animation styles? That said, Gill was a notorious quarter guzzler back in the day. I remember all the video game magazines griping about him in their respective arcade sections.
+MarxForever at least SF5 looks good IMO,SF4 nearly all the characters look bad, like REALLY bad, rose and c. viper are a good example of what i'm talking about, their faces are just really awkward.
The first time I beat gill it took me lots of tries. I finally beat him and dropped the controller and danced round the living room shouting yes!. Imagine my face when he got back up again and kicked my ass!.
Songs Used in order: Max Anarchy OST - Here We Go Max Anarchy OST - Play My Ass Off ?? (Car Bonus Stage) ?? (vs Sean) Max Anarchy OST - My Town, My City X-Ray Dog - ILLUMINATION X-Ray Dog - THE FURY Bonus for the start of his evo37 parry video X-Ray Dog - PERSEUS RISING
Yes true, that small choir addition is not in the original. I suspect its something Max edited it in himself. Or its from another track edited in that we just don't know and its hiding somewhere on the internet.
This has to be the best looking video game I've ever seen. Crisp animation, beautiful art style, smooth as hell frame rate. And the gameplay looks so damn good. Parrying looks like a great mechanic. If Street Fighter V plays like this, I'm fucking sold. I'll go buy a PS4 right now. Great video Max and great game Capcom.
Its not what we all wanted but I feel like it gets too much hate. Was anyone else around when sfiv first came out? It was trashed on and now its seen as one of the best sf. Enjoy it while you can.
I don't ever wanna hear how Female characters don't wear enough cloths in fighting games. Those last two dudes only had a roll of toilet paper wrapped around their junk.
The thing with media is sex sells both ways, look at action heroes and super heroes, they're almost all godly examples of very attractive people, men and women alike, they usually wear very little clothing of extremely form fitting clothing. Women I guess just like playing victims or something? I really don't know what's up with it, because it's pretty equal both ways. In the MCU Cap and Thor are sexualized WAAAAY more than any of the female characters.
@@an0rangutan The way Males and Females are presented are very different. As someone who is attracted by all different flavors of people, I can tell you it's not the same. The dudes maybe attractive but they are not pushed in a sexual manner. I'll look at Cap and think "that's a very attractive dude" but not "Damn I wanna get that dick." granted that could just be me and my tastes but when I see someone like Gil and Mai from KoF I can tell you that is very much the same "yo let me at that" kind of response. It's still very much female leaning when it comes to suggestive and sexual designs but it's quite understandable since it's a product made for what it typically still seen as a male dominated hobby. It's all about perspective though since Video Games aren't really male dominated anymore but it's still thought to be. What I'm saying is that we need more dick jiggle physics and visible bulges. ♥
This is actually incredibly refreshing to see. I've always thought myself subpar just because it takes me so many attempts to beat fighting game bosses, but can play on a moderate level against others. Seeing Max take so many attempts to beat the same bosses that haunt me, it just makes me glad that I'm not the only one.
"Don't Fall into Tragedy. Always be full of Happiness. You can never lose Hope. No Pain and Gain. Make this the end of your inferiority complex. Remember to keep enough for forever, YOU MUST CONTINUE!" Here we are in 2019 and I still cant tell you how many times I repeat this quote to myself on the daily when times get tough. I'm sure you already know it, but you motivate a lot of doods Max, thank you for all you do. SHINE ON!
I remember the first time I fought Gill and spent a good hour retrying the fight over and over again. I found spamming grab on Hugo seemed to be the easiest way to beat him and it felt so damn good. Just picking up this "God" of a man and slamming him into the ground over and over again every time he got back up was the most cathartic experience of my 3rd strike career.
I missed this video so much, so glad you kept them and after all this time you were able to reupload this video and each other. All are great memories and I’m so happy to see them again I hope RU-vid treats you right as a content creator from now and then on!
Max if you ever see this...this is the 1st video i ever saw from you and it made me sub...It's currently EXACTLY 7yrs later to the day and i'm watching your play through of RE:VIIage...best channel ever...
For thoses who want to know the musics when he fight Gill : 5:10 = X-Ray Dog - ILLUMINATION - ( Beast Break ) 8:07 = X-Ray Dog - THE FURY - ( Beast Break ) Thanks Paulo Henrique de Oliveira Gracioto who was to deep in the commentary section xD
I feel ashamed for admitting that I've never played 3rd Strike, or any other iteration of SF3 before. I grew up on SSF2 on the SNES and always wanted to dive further into the series as a kid, but I never had a Dreamcast or a PS1 growing up (which a TON of fighting games got released on). My local arcade had an Alpha 3 cabinet and MvC2, but I would always get my ass kicked, and money to keep playing is hard to come by as a 7 year old (back in 98). After that I got more into RPGs and other genres by the turn of the millennium, and sadly never got a chance to play 3rd Strike. I've been playing USF4 on PC (Seth is a fucking joke of a boss by the way), waiting for 5 to be released, but after spending some time watching your videos on 3rd Strike, I've really wanted to try the game. From the amazing detail of the sprites, to the fast paced combat, as well as that ost, I feel like this was a long lost friend I never had the chance to meet. I can see another version of myself in 2000 playing this game for hours on end. Sadly I don't have a PS3 or a (working) 360, so I can't play 3rd Strike online, but I went ahead and bought a copy of SF Anniversary Collection on PS2, for the 3rd Strike port. Hopefully it's everything I'm looking forward to, and this boss battle has given me a lot of hope that it will be. Love the videos Max. Keep these coming and I'll keep watching!
I know this is four years old, but if you wanna play the actual japanese arcade version against online players download fightcade. There is also a TON of other games on there.
Dood, please, put a song list in the description or near the end, I love the tunes you put up in the videos and I'm not sure if they're from the games or outside sources.
Bio_liquid0 Ah. Well, I have seen people complain about Unknown before, and, given how people usually give their ideas for the hardest boss they can think of, it would make sense that I would think you're saying Unknown was a hard boss.
***** There's a difference between Nightmare Marie and 300% :p 300% is just the boss, but in nightmare he has to do arcade mode, reach Marie and then beat her
Great video! I used to have a lot of trouble beating Gill in the PS2 version of SF3 Third Strike, but in 2022, I did beat the PS2 version of SF3 Third Strike as Ken on 3 stars (the default difficulty level) without using a continue and without losing a match and took down Gill without losing to him! I even unlocked him on the PS2 version by beating the game with all the playable characters, while I unlocked him as DLC on the Online Edition of SF3 Third Strike on the xBox 360. I could also imagine Luke Skywalker fighting Gill! 🙂
Future Boss Rage I would like to see Max do: Capcom vs. SNK 2, getting to either Ultimate Rugal or Shin Akuma Marvel vs. Capcom (the original) Guilty Gear X2 Super Smash Brothers Melee, getting to Crazy Hand (no limit on any lives that Max can use though) Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown Mortal Kombat (any of them, including the last one) X-Men: Children of the Atom or Marvel Super Heroes Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Darkstalkers (any of them) Super Street Fighter II Turbo, getting to Akuma (HD Remix is fine as well to use) Any SNK fighting games since they are the masters of tough as shit fighting game bosses Persona 4 Arena, on Score Attack Mode And of course, they all must be on the hardest difficulty as well
