i do agree with some in fire community we need to follow europe and shrink down our units for urban cities. cars are getting bigger too. so a fire nightmare if someone does not yield.

My local volunteer FD has ditched giant walk-in Rescue rigs for 8-foot bed pick-up trucks with a cap and all equipment on slide-out shelving. They still carry all the necessary equipment and are far more maneuverable, can travel faster, and are easy to drive for all volunteer personnel. Also easier and less costly to service and can be replaced quicker in the event of a traffic wreck.
