It's ironic to see that these disasters happened on the year ending in "2". 1872 / 1942 / 1972. Just an observance.

" mopup " or " overhaul " is a dangerous time of a fire. People take it as the easy time of a fire.

It wasn't " wants " of the fire department. It was the " needs " of the department. Typical politician statement when trying to downplay the situation at hand.
