Pinnacle of NBA right here in 80s, Celtic fan. I got to see gm 1 of historic 84 finals in first ever game I attended ....it was surreal to see kareem, bird, magic etc playing on the parquet. I never got to see prime wilt or Russell but kareem was best center I ever saw over shaq, akeem, ewing, Moses etc. I always felt Shaq got away with murder while kaj was a real basketball player with more stamina ...shaq was certainly awesome for around a 5 year stretch

hey KIDS thats what you called : RESPECT.. thats how you will truly admire HALL OF FAME GREATS like KAREEM. RUSSEL. WILT..BIRD. MAGIC. MJ. KOBE and OTHERS.. they have the PASSION. THE HEART. DEDICATION. and TRUE GUTS💪.. thats how the GAME IS PLAYED BACK THEN. that is why PEOPLE admired and LOVED THEM SO MUCH. THE RIVALRIES. HATRED are personal inside THE COURT. but OUTSIDE THE COURT. RESPECT.LOVE and SPORTSMANSHIP.. NOT THE KIND OF STUPID ERA on what is now happening like "LOAD MANAGEMENT. I WANT TO BUILD a SUPER TEAM. IM NOT HAPPY WITH THE TEAM BLA BLA BLA" that is why THE NBA was never THE SAME. the GOLDEN ERA of BASKETBALL is TRULY GONE.. 70's-90's hell. i know for a fact that BASKETBALL HAS EVOLVED. and PLAYERS today are MORE SKILLED than YESTERDAY.. but WHERE IS THE HEART. PASSION. DETERMINATION. GRIT and PERSERVERANCE. I CANT FIND THAT OUT in today's SUPERSTARS.. Today i find it more STUBBORNLY. ATTITUDE. and WANTED TO BE NO.1. NO RESPECT TO EACH OTHER. PERSONAL VENDETAS are INSIDE and OUTSIDE THE COURT. AND EGOS ALWAYS GOT THE BEST OF TODAY'S GENERATION. that is why PEOPLE some Dont even RESPECT THEM.. SAD REALITY. that is why HOF GREATS always criticizing the SUPERSTARS of TODAY. because of their LACK OF DISCIPLINE. RESPECT and EGOS. you cant blame them. man im so lucky to witness how great 80's-90's era are and the superstars of yesterday. Im not againts SUPERSTARS of TODAY.. they are great. but they are non GREATER than PLAYERS of YESTERDAY✌ you know why? because. MENTAL TOUGHNESS. HIGHER BASKETBALL I.Q and SKILLS was very SIMPLE and VERY EFFECTIVE. people today may think YESTERDAY PLAYERS was not TOO SKILLED than TODAY. well we cannot blame them. because maybe they are not yet born. or maybe still young to understand how true BASKETBALL is truly played. so sorry. but that is The FACTS💯. you may AGREE or me or DISAGREE. if you Agree thank you and you understand the true nature of the Game. if Not. Its Okay and i understand their opinions. for me my beliefs/opinion are final. i will not replace how good and great players are from the past and the era im lucky to even witnessed it and how fire and competitive that was👍👍✌ you know the saying "GREATNESS IS NOT ABOUT HOW YOU PERFORM. ITS ABOUT HOW YOU WORK HARD. BE SMART. HAVE SOME HEART.DEDICATION and PERSERVERANCE. BE HUMBLE AND PLAY HARD. NOT PLAY FOR YOURSELF JUST TO SHOW PEOPLE HOW GREAT YOU ARE. YOU HAVE TO HAVE RESPECT AND SHARING TO BECOME A ROLE MODEL FOR YOUR TEAM AND FOR YOUR FANS" --GEORGE MIKAN---

From a number of comments viewed, it seems some people cannot let go of obsessing on racism. Since racism is so bad, anyone suspected of such must be a bad person 24 hours a day. 1) these writers don't know the make-up of these sports fans. 2) even if one harbors some racist feelings, it doesn't mean one cannot be decent in other ways. To imagine otherwise is to negate what it means to be human.
