Love your book reviews. Thanks for doing this. I'll definitely put this in my wish list. Only I don't allow myself to buy a new book until I finish one I currently have. Otherwise I fall into the art books rabbit hole.

This was the first book I bought when I started doing watercolor. It was over my head at first. I love it more and more as I have gotten more experience. Thanks for the review!

I am a beginner. Is this a book you would not recommend to me then?

Aureolin yellow is fugitive. I know a lot of artists use it, it’s mentioned in a lot of books, but it’s best for practice/journals, or pieces that will not be exposed to light.

I love the paintings and journey of this artist. Its inspirational to me and I also find the illustrations stunning. This video you have created is also lovely as I enjoyed the relaxed tempo in addition to your comments. Lovely, lovely book. A mew keepsake!

Wow! I love you floral/botanical book reviews! My wish list is ever growing! But I am a total newbie, so I have to grow into these books. I love books, colour, nature, 💐💐, gardens, 🐦🐦, calligraphy and painting, so putting them together is like a dose of heaven on earth to me. These books you have are truly gorgeous!

I am a beginner. This is a beautiful book but does it contain specific techniques and advices in order to improve or is just a beautiful collection of pieces?

😍 this book is amazing! {& all the other books in your Haul as well!} you might like the style of Clare Basler. She doesn't paint in Watercolor, she uses oil paint, but she paints flowers in their wilting forms with colors as though they are in full bloom, and she ends up with flowers that look like they are dancing and unfurling in the breeze.. . Get better soon pretty girl! 🤗✨💌

Hi Alyona, I really love your reviews about botanical books. I've got two books by Billy Showell, Botanical painting in watercolor (a little bible for the tecnique) and Watercolor flowers portraits. I'd like to buy another book, and this one inspires me a lot, because I paint from a photo, not from the real flower. As you, I'd like to learn how to paint an interesting and more beautiful portrait (of a flower not only alone, but in a contest) of a subject from a reference photo and this seems to me a good book. I also like the way that Anna Mason uses to explain values (but I don't like painting in little dots), because I love contrasts and depht. I don't like 'flat' loose watercolour style. Which books do you suggest me? Thank you very much

Try this book: Flowers, A Celebration of Botanical Art by Rosie Sanders. I have a review on this one too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AbmkXi18A4Q.html :)

There is a bunch of answered comments that seems to have disappeared... I was saying that I didn't even know that cobalt yellow existed, I thought cobalt is only for blue and violet :)

Nice book with pretty illustrations but I do not see a single step by step tutorial.

I bought this book, but I've been disappointed. The teacher doesn't explain what is the reason because 'the stem could have be done better...'...in why? Because of the colours? Light and shadow? I am a beginner, if I look at that stem I find It perfect. So, I hope to sell It, I don't like It at all.
