Many thought the situation in Brooklyn was settled after Kyrie Irving decided to opt in to one more season with the Nets, but with Kevin Durant requesting a trade, things are in upheaval once more. Adrian Wojnarowski states that KD and Kyrie still want to play together, but not in Brooklyn, opening up the possibility of a double-trade. Boston wasn't anywhere close to the #2 seed before Christmas and they discovered trust in each other and team ball. Then they went out and swept the favorite for the NBA title. Personally, I think KD is done playing with Kyrie and wants to separate but floated the idea that he still wants to play with him to get ahead of that narrative and spare the relationship. I don’t mean to malign his character but it does seem like he struggles to be an assertive leader who sets firm boundaries. I think all of this hoopla is easier than KD simply telling Kyrie the truth.

His behavior is extremely characteristic like of very specific mental conditions that are notoriously problematic and chaotic for those closely associated with them. The problem is that most people don’t understand the minds of these individuals and even less do they believe others telling them. They usually side with and defend the person who is wrong and worst part is that all the chaos they cause is actually intentional. @@_MM03 Depends specifically on the wording of his contract. Usually, a player gets paid only when they actually play the scheduled games. If they are injured, or the coach doesn’t put them in, they’re still eligible to get paid. However, if a player just chooses not to be available for games, like Ben Simmons did last year, they aren’t eligible. Alternatively, as Philly did with Simmons, the team can fine the player for conduct. I don’t see the Nets going that route with KD. He’s such a desired commodity in the League, the Nets would rather flip him for assets, rather than have his contract on their books while he refuses to suit up.

All this is happening for ONE REASON, and that is that The Nets have not offered Kyrie a long-term extension (after last season ended). Now, whatever your personal feelings are about Kyrie, within the organization, and in outside the organization (and the effects it had on team chemistry) are debatable. But if The Nets came out tomorrow and said that they just signed Kyrie to a 3-year Extension, KD would change the rumors/talk about him wanting to be traded anywhere. Regardless of how you feel on either side of the talks/table, doesn't change this bottom line.

Nets owe these prima donnas nothing. They ruined the culture and are in the process of setting the franchise back a good 5 years. Ship them off wherever you get the best individual compensation for each. Don’t do the Lakers any favors by packaging them together. That definitely wouldn’t be a good move, because AD isn’t good enough of a return by himself, and he’s barely more committed to basketball than Kyrie. Westbrick isn’t worth having him ever even suit up.

I don't see any scenario where Lakers would trade AD. Lebron would never agree to that. As a Bron fan if he agreed to trade his brother to chase rings with those two I'd loose all respect for him. I don't think a trade between LA & Brooklyn would include AD. I would not want both. In any relationship the weak personality gets paved over by the strong one. Kyrie is the strong personality, and he also happens to be toxic. Conspiracy theorist, emotional, irrational, quick to feel slighted and overreact to things on Twitter or the news, passive aggressive, etc. Get KD away from Kyrie and he’s a good piece to build on. Y’all lookin at this all wrong! I can’t believe what I’m hearing. Listen, or read, KD doesn’t like how you guys and Brooklyn handle Kyrie. KD never had a issue with the vaccine decision. So when they didn’t want to give Kyrie a contract KD took offense. Then he feels if u trade Kyrie who can u replace him with? Then u hear they might take Westbrook, so he wanted out. Then KD doesn’t want to go where ever Kyrie goes he says if we end up in the same place that’s cool. There problem is with Brooklyn and the fans who cheer for other teams. Y’all just making up what y’all want it to be about and then slander guys for making a decision that y’all made up ur own dynamics to.

Nick Wright saying the organization let them down?! 🤦‍♂They had control of the organization. They got 1 coach fired and picked the next one. They got their good friend Deandre Jordan 40 million dollar contract which was insane. The problem here is simple. Kyrie. He's a negative unhappy malcontent. He wants a max contract from the Nets when he has shown no loyalty to the Nets at all, every decision he has made in Brooklyn has been for himself. Not for the organization and not for his teammates.

Kyrie never had a problem playing with Lebron. The relationship had challenges it wasn’t the best but y’all didn’t listen to what he said. He said he liked playing with Lebron on the court but when the FRONT OFFICE treats Lebron like the god of basketball and not respecting the importance of the team he wanted out. Bring said we top heavy af. Meaning he wants the front office to make moves not depend on him to do all the heavy lifting. Kyrie wanted more team respect. Then he hears the Paul George trade with his name in it he was done with the Cavs because remember it was build around a Kyrie then Lebron came home he had to wait and he waited now y’all trynna trade me and dropped 40 and hit the biggest shot ever to beat the warriors he wanted out. In Boston there where young developing players so they put Kyrie in Lebron seat so to speak he didn’t like it. He said the value of team. Because the coaching staff put him over the rest of the team they took offense had it wrecked the chemistry just like he said in Cleveland. Y’all is crazy man. Doggin that man like that.

am I the only one think that this is similar to when KD and Westbrook were "brothers", despite how media was questioning their shaky relationship in okc?
