It definitely looks different in real life than for promotion - and it’s not even that easy, to bend it over, the way it looks in the product photos. Glad my video was helpful to you
I had no idea about the design of the sardine handle! I agree, I wouldn't like that either and would assume a dog chewed on it. So cool that you can try out and the bags and learn about them!
Wow, Mary! This unboxing really took us on a rollercoaster. The moment you revealed the Bottega Veneta and delved into the unique craftsmanship behind those 'marks' - mind blown! 🤯 It's a powerful reminder of the depth and intention behind luxury design. I’m here for your journey into the world of luxury bag rentals; it’s such an innovative way to indulge responsibly. Your openness about your initial misconceptions was both endearing and enlightening. Eagerly awaiting your in-depth thoughts on living with this piece and whatever other gems you discover through renting. Your channel is a treasure trove for the luxury curious! 💼✨
Thank you Naomi, it really has been a rollercoaster 😳😂 even though I don't like that specific design feature, I'm glad the bag isn't severely scratched already 😅🙈
You should research better: the „marks“ are made extra on the handle to make it unique. That’s it. The material is actually so hard, that it is not possible to create such marks from wear😅
@@sestricaanutka as I stated in the video, I didn’t do research on the bag at all. If you would have watched the entire video, you knew I found out about the dents beeing there on purpose later on 😅. I still don’t think it’s a nice design feature, cause most people that see you with the bag, will not have done research themselves and will think aswell that’s terrible wear&tear 🙈
I think that the hardware is just intentionally distressed. I've seen them new in the store and the handles look similar. I was also pretty surprised! Not a design feature I appreciate.
Thank you Jak 🥰 there definitely will follow a review, when I used this bag for two months... and then there's still the surprise bag to unbox in June 🤩
It's definitely tricky to make it flap/smile, the way it is shown on the product pictures... no matter if it's filled our empty, I'm not able to make it look that way 😅
Quite some surprises with that bag‘s behavior for me aswell 😅🙈 - definitely not the very best first impression, but the more I use it, the more I start to enjoy it. Very curious to see, how I will feel after the two months rent period 😁
Remember that gold is a very soft material then does dent and take visible damage easily. This is why most gold objects are not pure gold; they are a mixture of gold on the exterior and other metals directly under it that are harder and will hold their shape (this is also why thin-layers of gold rub over time to reveal a different color of metal under them). I mention this because I do not know the composition of that handbag handle, but if the handle is literally very high in real gold content then that might be why it seems to be so easily dented. Also listen to the audio of this video; you can hear how the handle very easily makes noise when touched by other hard materials / metals; this is a less scientific theory, but I always find "noisy" hardware means it is softer or less durable because it is "taking" the "hit" rather then "dealing" the "hit" to whatever object is touching it. I say all of this just because sometimes people have a vision in their minds of what materials they should strive to own because they are valuable or are considered "respectable", but often may not fully grasp how those materials actually wear-down over time compared to other things. It's like when someone washes a wool sweater in cold water and shrinks it by accident; wool is a very good, useful and often luxurious material but it does ware differently as a result then say polyester and so that should be taken into consideration are part of the whole decision-making process.
Yes my ring against the handle definitely makes some sounds - rewatching the footages, for a milli-second, I was even worried, if I might have caused the dents with my jewelry (but no way, they were there right away).... after filming the first part of the video, I found out, the dents are intended to be there and are a design feature on that bag on purpose 😅🙈
I thought there were flaws when I saw this in the store at first. But it is a design feature. Maybe the designer wanted to make sure on longer wear and tear, sctarches would blend in? If so, this isn't such a bad idea. But, when others see it and not know this it could seem you have been hard on your bag. Such a dilema!
I learned about the intentional design feature, shortly after I filmed the first part of this video 😅🙈 - but everyone I showed these dents in real life, thought it‘s signs of wear 🙈. Definitely not the best design idea in my opinion 😅
I send them a second „Never mind, just found out it’s intended to be that way“-mail 🙈 and they replied, I‘m definitely not the first one, that was confused 😂🙈
I don’t know which was more humorous, the fact that the bag comes with the horribly marked handle, or that their “ gift” to you was salted almonds!! 😂 Are they serious.? You were so gracious!❤
Hahahah, oh you're lovely - they didn't have to include anything, so I'm more than happy with a handwritten note and salted almonds 😁. Happy Eastern 🐰🐣
I was told by an S.A. that the handle was designed by an artist, and that he took inspiration from one of his previous standalone artworks. Racking my brain for a name - but yeah the handle is designed like that because of the artist.
I found out, shortly after filming the first part of the video (still have a hard time to believe that it looks like that on purpose 😅🙈). I would love to know the name of the artist 😳
What a fun video!!! "dog chew toy" - LoL! I like the look of this bag but I don't know if I like the "distressed" metal handle. Plus, I wear rings and I would worry about fine scratches on the metal.
Hahaha, thank you 🥰 - I think there's no need to worry about wear on the handle: it hardly can look any more worn, than it already is 😁🙈 - but I'm with you, I would prefer the look of a plain smooth handle (cause I bet, these dents look like terrible wear to everyone, who doesn't know that bag)
Hi Mary! I had no idea about the handle! It is a cool design but I would prefer it without the marks, too! I’m interested to know how user friendly this bag is after you’ve used it. Happy Easter! 🐣
At the beginning I was not sure if I find the idea with the intentional dents in the handle cool or absolutely weird. But the more I think about it, the cooler I find the idea. I wonder how many people who ordered the bag online, flipped out during the unboxing, because they did not know it was actually feature and not a defect 😅😅
It doesn't look cheap in real life. It looks more luxurious than a Chanel classic flap especially with the new version that comes with chain shoulder strap
We all have different taste and consider different designs and aesthetics as luxurious. I absolutely do understand, if the handle doesn't resonate with someone (especially since it looks like strong wear and tear to most people, who do not know it's an intended design feature 😅🙈)
