John Weaver is resident of Betty’s Bay and has had a most successful career as a Geologist and Hydrogeologist.
He is a Wits Graduate who worked for 6 years at JCI in their gold and platinum mines. After a 2-year gap he joined a Groundwater Consulting firm, Martinelli and Associates, in Randburg.
Six years later he moved to the CSIR in Stellenbosch where he undertook geohydrology studies in the Western Cape and elsewhere for the next 17 years. He has been Chairman of SANBWA (South African National Bottled Water Association) since its inception in 1997.
John very kindly provided sponsorship for the OGG’s Earth-Age and Geological displays that the OGG completed in Harold Porter Gardens in September 2023 through one of the organisations that he was a member of for which the OGG is most appreciative.
